Each team had a member locked into a vortex. Would each draw the attention of of the wind-free? Or would they get off with only windblown hair?!

The Badgers made aimed to claim two targets - spreading the love out to both opponents. While focus fire could be effective, leaving someone untouched could prove problematic - they were angling to avoid that. Lindsey planned to share the warm feeling that had punched into her last round. An Incendio Duo for Samantha. Lucia on the other hand had seen what Pericles was able to do with a wand - and didn't like it. He would have a Expelliamus headed his way.

Lindsey's vortex had caught the Raven eyes - she would have two wands leveled at her. They seemed to want to keep her stuck in the wind - both casting Ventus at the duelist. Samantha would find success in her cast, but it would be immediately outdone. Pericles had now had the full range of casting experience - near total failure and perfection. His Ventus would blast out of his wand with fervor, splitting and heading strait for both of the Badgers.

Samantha would be the only one to escape this bouts magic. Lindsey's fire would miss her by a hair - it would be singed, but not burning. Everyone else would find themselves hit with a spell. Lindsey would have both ventuses crash into her, while Lucia would not escape the sudden split torrent. Pericles' high of a perfect cast would be short lived, as his wand went tumbling from his hand.

It was beauty itself. It was chaos. Galton would have shed a tear if he had been in the stands - both from the pain the badgers had to be feeling, and the gleaming perfection that was that Ventus. Both Badgers were trapped in the winds, but there was only one Raven with a wand. Galton had no idea what could possibly happen next!

"Ventus!"
Phoenix feather wands were known to have a mind of their own. Why it refused to cast at the start of the duel, only to execute its most sublime iteration of Ventus to date, was beyond its wielder. Pericles had uttered the incantation with stern conviction, but even he was taken aback by the resulting gale. The spell spread out, roaring like a hurricane, buffeting both opponents. An uncharacteristic grin sprung up, hard-edged and hostile. Perfectly pomaded hair was whipped into a wild frenzy, and then- out of his hand went the wand. It was an abrupt end to an otherwise climactic cast. Pericles pouted, sighing a disappointed "Hmph."

Action: As strategized.

This wasn’t the best of experiences for Lindsey. Her own spell directed at Samantha missed its target even though it went close - so close that she thought had hit, but came to a disappointment when the symbolic fire wasn’t on. On the other hand two wind jinxes trapped her, each from the Ravenclaw duellists, which Lindsey weren’t fast enough to jump aside and dodge. Lucia was rather successful on her own spell though, thank Merlin, as Pericles’ wand was pushed out of hand. Lindsey coughed in the gusts of winds - she didn’t think she could support herself for long, really, her chest and limps were aching badly.

Action: as strategised

It wasn't going very well. Lindsey's spell missed, and both Hufflepuff's once again found themselves targeted by Wind Jinxes. Lucia did her best to dodge, but the spell was hurtling towards her too fast and there was no escaping it. At least her own spell knocked Percules' wand out of his hand.

With the jolt of wind around her, Samantha raised her wand and aimed it at Lindsey. The Hufflepuffs needed to suffer with the wind too. Her eyes narrowed as she cast ventus and watched her spell hit the other duellist. Luckily, the brunette had noticed that Lindsey had aimed a spell at her and was able to dodge it just in time.

Her partner had managed to create a perfect ventus, which hit both of the opponents. A big grin appeared on the young girl's face as she was extremely proud of her partner. When she glared over at Peri, she noticed much to her disappointment that the boy had been disarmed. "Nice spell," she quickly complimented her partner.

The pace had to change after such a brutal onslaught form each side. Either team had reasons to slow - Hufflepuff having a duelist near unconscious and one of the Ravenclaws missing their wand. Each had a situation that could be improved upon.

The Badgers would make their moves to keep Lindsey from that sweet, sweet sleep that seemed oh-so nice when you'd gotten the hefty dose of magic that she had. Lucia intended to keep her partner standing, and with some of the clearest pronunciation Galton had ever heard, she cast a beautiful reparifors. Lindsey would meanwhile use her (potentially limited) time to try and rectify the miss of her last shot - another incendio duo for Samantha.

On the other side of the piste, the Ravens were quick at work. Pericles did the only thing that really made sense - finding his wand. Samantha, who was in possession of her wand, would show her team's true affinity for the spell ventus with yet another cast of it! It made the hairs on his neck stand with each use, something about the spell just blew him away. Samantha would send it at poor Lindsey once again. It made sense, the duelist was locked in the wind's clutches already, making it that much easier to keep her there.

And Lindsey would be kept in the Ventus' clutches. The windy spell would barrel into her, striking her gut as it's aftermath took hold. As the will to keep her eyes open faded, a sudden burst of energy would come through - reparifors had arrived. If it weren't for Lucia's actions, there would have been no way Lindsey could have withstood the second (Or... third?) ventus. And luckily, or perhaps unluckily, depending on your view, Lindsey's flame would catch Samantha this round. Her clothes would go up in flames as she felt the worst of the heat dissipate. All the while, Pericles looked for that retched wand. He would find it moments after his partner went up in flames.

The pace may have "slowed" from the previous exchange of spells, but it certainly was not any less thrilling. While the Badgers seemed to be on the defensive, it only took one moment for the tables to flip. Who would remain in Merlin's favor?!

With no need to dodge any incoming spells, Pericles was quick on his feet, fast to scoop up the aspen wand from the stage. "You too," he complimented Sam right back, having caught a glimpse of her well-timed Ventus. The Ravenclaw grimaced at the sight of flames chewing his partner's robes, but tried to encourage her, urging "Alright there? Don't let up now, partner: I'm back in the game!"

Her wand aimed at Lindsey, the young girl created another wind Jinx. Her spell flew across the stage and easily hit the older student. Samantha was extremely happy when Peri returned the compliment and a big smile appeared on her face. In the short time she was distracted, Lindsey cast another incendio duo her way. This time the spell hit her and her clothes went up in flames. A bit of panic could be seen in her blue eyes, as she felt the fire burn in her skin. This wasn't supposed to happened! Why did it hurt so much?

She quickly put on a brave face after hearing her partners encouraging words. "I'm okay," she told him, as she could smell the fire burn her clothes.

Lindsey flickered her wand and aimed steadily at Samantha despite all the pain in her body. Fire & Hufflepuff made a strange but wonderful harmony, when she shoot an Incendio Duo at the Ravenclaw girl. Not managing to dodge the wind jinx yet again, Lindsey sighed and put her spare left hand on her chest to feel her own heartbeat. She didn’t know how long she could still last - when she felt that she would faint the next second, Lucia casted a healing spell on her and brought her spirit back. “Thanks.” Lindsey muttered to Lucia while squeezing a small smile out before asking. “You okay?”
