Let Me Get to Know You
Place: Library
Date: Monday, October 24, 2022
Time: Early morning
It was just after breakfast. That day was the day the foreign students were to leave Hogwarts until the next Hexwizard Tournament Task. So much had happened during that particular stay at Hogwarts, however, that Ginyami felt he needed some time alone to process everything that had happened. That was how he had ended up in the Hogwarts library quietly perusing the bookshelves without any real goal in mind.
It wasn't long before someone else caught his eye - someone in a vivid red uniform that was now quite familiar to the Mahoutokoro student. His face lit up, thinking its owner might have been familiar to him as well, but when he caught sight of the Durmstrang student's face, he realized it was not. He was tall, but not quite as tall as Valentin Schnell. Unlike the albino boy, his hair was very dark brown which contrasted sharply with his pale complexion. Ginyami's smile quickly reformed into one of politeness, but he kept it up nevertheless. After a moment, he decided to talk to the Durmstrang youth. Perhaps he knew Valentin.
"Good morning," the Japanese boy greeted with his slightly-accented English. "Enjoying your time here at Hogwarts? It is a shame we will be leaving today, but it is good of you to make the most of it while we still can."

Let Me Get to Know You
Mikael sat in the chair uncertainty pulled at his fingertips as he held onto the book he had pulled from the shelf. Anchoring him to a reality that always seemed to be slipping from his grasp. He kept sloppily trying to grab at it. Gripping onto the viscous liquid with his hands. Attempting to bring it into his chest in order to hold it. Despite his desperate attempts, he found himself unsuccessful. He knew he would be lying to himself if he pretended what had happened during the trial had not gotten to his head. The boy swallowed thickly as he tightened his grip on the pages of the poor book. His Mother's rattling breathing haunted his every waking moment. He was not too sure what the two of them were trying to direct him towards. All he knew was things were changing and he did not have any more control over where he went.
The boy slowly let go of his white knuckle grip on the book as he looked to the left and out the window. He would have been scared if he wasn't used to the feeling. Had he not always had a greater purpose? Something so far above himself that he himself could hardly comprehend it anymore. He was a shield and he was a sword. A weapon for a greater purpose. To protect and attack for the one thing that truly mattered in his feeble existence. Mikael breathed out slowly closing his eyes as he thought about Yefim. It was almost comforting the way their relationship worked. So much comfort in knowing that throughout it all Yefim would lead him to greener pastures. Mikael slowly opened his eyes, his grey eyes studying the dust that filtered about the room. The want to not breathe it in overcame him, and he held his breath for a mere second.
A part of him wished Valentin would not be so difficult. How could he not see that having faith was the one thing that Yefim required? If only he had had faith. Mikael frowned at that as he thought about the things that had taken place between him and the white-haired boy. Justification held fast in his mind. He had merely defended his god, it was his job. His duty. A flicker of movement brought pause to his thoughts, and for a second as he turned to the right to look did he think it was possibly the being. Or worse his Mother, who had decided to check in on him. Instead, a rather put-together boy stood in front of him in long flowing robes.
A guarded look would quickly enter his eyes as he stared at the boy with a blank expression. The boy would not return the boy's greeting. Uncertainty and awkwardness pulled at him as he watched the other. Not many people tried to talk to him, even within his own team. Though, that was because he liked it that way. The only thing he needed was his being and his god, even if the being was only in his mind. He used to consider Valentin something that he would need, but he had drawn his line despite the other trying to get him to change his mind. He knew he probably scared quite a few people. Mikael was used to others telling him he was creepy or that he was downright terrifying. His dead eyes did have a tendency to bore into people despite no words leaving his lips.
As he bore down his gaze upon the dark-haired boy's skin, he wondered why the other had even tried to come up to him. He looked far too polished to be used to something like him. It made him uneasy as much as it made him somewhat curious. Not curious enough to pursue a conversation in a friendly manner. Of course, not that would be far too hard. Mikael was not known for his social grace. Lessons of proper etiquette had been lost in his childhood. If he wanted answers he was going to dig his fingers in and make the other explain himself. He would not be gentle or kind. Something that lacked any sense of normalcy. Maybe the boy would realize his mistake and run far away. Though, to his surprise, the boy did not do such a thing. Mikael blinked slowly before a frown slowly pulled at his features as the boy continued to try and talk to him. "Who are you?" he would ask blandly.

Let Me Get to Know You
Regarding the young man, Ginyami thought he had a melancholy air to him, though he could not exactly put his finger on what gave him that impression. Was it his solemn, grey eyes that just stared? His quiet demeanor and lack of words? Regardless of what it was, Ginyami was not deterred by it. In fact, he only seemed to take it as a challenge and it motivated him to try harder to engage with his peer. The fact that he had asked a question was a promising sign. That meant he had some degree of interest if he wanted to know something about him, yes?
His smile broadened as he bowed at the waist. "Pardon me. I should have introduced myself first. I am Ginyami Midorimori. Please feel free to call me Ginyami. I am a student of Mahoutokoro in Japan." Raising his head, he nodded toward the other boy. "You are from Durmstrang, are you not? I hear it is a fine institute. You and your school put up quite the fight at the Hexwizard task of yesterday. Very impressive."
Tilting his head, he asked, "May I ask what your name is? I have only had the pleasure of meeting one other of your schoolmates so far and I would like to get to know more of you. What do you think of the Hexwizard tournament? And what of Hogwarts? Do you like it here? Or are you eager to get back home?"

Let Me Get to Know You
Mikael was not too sure what to make of the boy in front of him. He did not seem deterred in the slightest by his presence. Far used to making others around him uncomfortable it was strange for the boy to show no deterrence whatsoever. Especially, when his own teammates struggled with it. The boy felt a frown grow across his features, as the boy bowed deeply in front of him with a large grin. Over the top was the first and only word that came to mind. Such a large smile upon his face, or maybe it was his lack of smiling that made it seem so large.
The boy seemed so bright, reminding him greatly of Valentin. So bright that it hurt his eyes to look at the other for long periods of time. He wasn't too sure how he ended up in these situations. Surrounded by those who seemed so much different than himself. The black cloud amongst the pristine white. His brows furrowed as the other introduced himself. Not too sure what to say he would remain quiet. Though he felt a bit of annoyance as the other asked if he was from Durmstrang. In his mind, it felt quite clear, his stiff red uniform felt like a beacon of where he belonged, and how out of place he really was. The boy cleared his throat slightly, before speaking "Our fight is not nearly over." he added to the boy's sentence.
"Just because we have not fought yet does not mean we will never. Are you trying to understand your competition?" he asked bluntly. It seemed to be the most obvious answer. That the boy was simply trying to get ahead of the competition. It irked him as much as it annoyed him. To be a pawn in a larger game was tiresome. The boy frowned as he debated playing along with the other's attempts of socialization. Something that felt more like pulling teeth than actual conversation. After a second or two, Mikael decided to answer the other's questions. My name is Mikael." he said leaving out his last name. Something that he was very used to doing. " And of course not, dining with them is nothing short of torture." he said bluntly. "What of you? Do you sympathize with the lot of them?"
