First meet!!
Date: 7th Sept '21
Damion had just come back from his vacations from home. He loved spending time back home at Wales. Despite being busy in school, Damion had took out some time to roam around places and find things to do. He had paid attention to a particular boy in the sorting. He didn't pay much attention to other sorting but this boy, the Gryffindor first year boy.... Kim was someone that had stuck to him. Well he was hoping that they could meet up and he could get to know more about the boy.
He had spend six days since Kim had been sorted. What took Damion so much time to get to the younger boy? Well maybe he was procrastinating the meeting. Was that it? Well Damion was not himself sure. Well how would he connect with the other boy. All he remembered from the sorting was his first name. How many students would be there with the same name? So what were the chances of getting the owl to the right person.
Damion sighed as he kept thinking of ways to contact Kim. Well he hoped that the guy would just walk by and come here. He was not sure if that would happen. But he didn't see the harm in day dreaming about it. He could always think that that Gryffindor Boy, Kim would come around.

ㅤ──────────────────────| ── | A yawn escaped his lips. It was Wednesday afternoon. One of the better days because it wasn't Tuesday or Thursday, the worse days. Why worse? Because of a certain Flying Class he was required to take. Thankfully, the teacher had given him permission to take private lessons from her instead, rather than participate in class. And of course, there was Hana-chan too. The pretty boy who was actually quite attractive. But annoyed him quite a lot due to his attitude. Somehow, Hana-chan had managed to wrangle him into accepting flying lessons from him. Even though that was the last thing Kim wanted to do. But he couldn't back down from the provocation. Not when it came from that boy. Kim took some shepherd's pie from in front of him, along with a slice of grilled meat and some caramelized carrots. He started to eat the food as he thought about his classes. Better to focus on them than on his thoughts about flying and Hana-chan. He needed to keep up to date on his studies to ensure he got top marks in everything at Hogwarts. Kim's parents expected nothing less from him and he wouldn't disappoint them, especially his father. He'd already let him down twice already and felt a bit guilty about it. The white haired boy finished half of the food on his plate. Sophia and Sage should be around the area. But thankfully he didn't see either of them at the moment, which meant he could be left to his own devices. Kim wasn't a very social person, not unless he was explaining something to someone. Or helping someone out, if he knew how to fix a problem and they didn't seem to know how to. However, there were some people who had already stuck out to him. Taizu Miyashiro. A cute boy who Kim felt would get himself into trouble if he didn't look after him all the time. He'd met him during the sorting ceremony and Taizu had kind of latched onto him like a lifeline after finding out Kim spoke Japanese. Avery Chen. A rather interesting boy, Kim had met him during his Potions class. He was someone with a lot of spunk and Kim knew they'd have fun together. Colin and Bailey were a duo he'd met in the library a few days ago, when Taizu had been clinging to him. Kim couldn't help but want to get to know them better, even though he was afraid to get close to others again. He'd come up with the nickname Irish when he referred to Colin because even though Colin was Scottish, that word reminded him too much of Scottish Fold cats. Cats were the bane of his existence. Kim didn't want to indulge in anything that reminded him of cats at Hogwarts. As for Bailey. She was a decent looking girl, there was something about her that he couldn't quite put his finger on at the time. It was almost as if he was feeling something different about her than when he looked at other people. Whatever. If he couldn't place it now, it probably wasn't important, at least not at this particular time. Bailey seemed pretty fun and energetic though, she was probably a nice person to be around, Taizu seemed to like her a lot too. And then there was Alec Mason. A boy who he'd had an unfortunate run-in with in the Great Hall. He'd picked on him and then tried to spill food and drink on him, although luck had been on his side at the time. But it had been annoying. Last but not least, he'd met Juniper Kelly, a girl who had become his mentor at the castle. She and her friend Draven Mirador had quickly become his 'friends', despite Kim's reluctance to make 'friends'. It was just meant to be, their friendship and soon they had developed a reputation for become a trio during class time. Outside of class, Kim tended to hang out more with June than with Raven. But from time to time he saw Raven too. And of course, there were the first two people he'd met when he'd first gotten on the train that would lead to Hogwarts. Sophia and Sage. Their friendship would last forever. Yes, he didn't have any proof of this. But Kim sensed it deep inside. Even though part of him wanted to deny it. Kim finished the food currently on his plate and then reached out to grab some meat pastries and also some curry too. These two things would taste delicious when paired together. First meet!!

Damion had not thought much of anything. Except about the boy that he was hoping would come around. Why was Damion so drawn to that individual? It was not like that he had known the boy (Kim) from somewhere. Well something inside Kim was drawing him to Kim. Damion had not been mesmerized by anyone before. He was hoping that Kim would come around and he could get to talk to the younger boy. Yes Younger. Kim was a first year for crying out loud. Damion was a third year, but he sort of felt drawn to him. Maybe because he had not seen someone else as charming as Kim. He was not sure what his reasons were but he was hoping that he could see Kim yet again. But what chances were there of Kim walking into the Great Hall. No matter how small or large that chance was, he was going to still wait for Kim- in hopes that the boy would eventually come there.
Damion looked at the food in front of him… Yes the food that he was going to indulge in. With a hope that he would soon see Kim. A smile appeared on his face as he saw Kim walking in. Filling his plate with some sliced meat, a bit of shepherd’s pie and some caramelized carrots and a piece of bread, he walked Kim and smiled at the younger boy. "Welcome to Hogwarts." Damion said looking at the boy. "Oh! How rude of me!" Damion said softly hoping that Kim wouldn’t hear him. "I am Damion. Damion White a third year with Ravenclaw." Damion said smiling. He was hoping that he was not being too weird to the younger boy. He looked at the younger Gryffindor. He was hoping that the other boy would be interested in having a conversation with him.
Damion was not sure why he was so interested in knowing this younger boy. It was not like he made an effort to know the first years that came into the school. But he was wanting to change that. He was hoping that this meeting would make him be more approachable to others. He didn’t want to be too cut off from people and things. He had been that in the past and he was wanting to change that, be a different person. Be someone who was open about things and not someone who would be a loner. His first year had been pretty lonely. He hated that. He wished that he had some friends. But then again, he wouldn’t be the person he was right now if that had changed.
Damion had left his canine in the dorm as he had walked down to the Great Hall to have something to eat. He was hoping that Jasper (his cat) would not be bored. He really loved the cat as he felt that that cat had been through most of his ups and downs. He had not felt that lonely when he was around Jasper. He did agree that h needed more human friends. Anyways, not until he made an effort for it, he was not going to find someone who he can be friends with. Sighing he looked around and smiled. He looked at Kim, right he was there with someone. He was hoping that he was not being too overbearing. He didn’t want to come across as a clingy person.
Damion didn’t know who he had met his first year. Everything seemed like to blur away. He had not been this outgoing back when he had joined the school. A part of him wanted to re live and re do his first year. Be more popular. But if he re did it would he end up meeting the people he was meeting like Kim. He shrugged in his mind he was not sure how his life would be or would go if he had been too popular from the beginning. He was not sure what he would have done to be honest. So right now, he could stop thinking about it. It had been a while since he had gotten the intern in the Hospital Wing. He was sort of happy about it. Would he actually learn more about healing in his internship? Despite that, he was going to look forward to it.
Damion looked at the food on his plate, not that he was trying to admire what he had chosen. He was just looking at it, to see what he had selected and whether he was missing something that he needed. Well if he was missing something he would go and get it later. He took a small bite of the shepherd pie and swallowed it before looking at Kim. "I hope you are enjoying the place." Damion asked in hopes of trying to make a conversation. He was failing at it, he could guess that much. He took a sip of the orange Juice that he had in the glass near him. "There are many things that you can do around the place." Damion added in failed attempt to make a conversation. He was hoping that Kim wouldn’t find it weird that an older boy was trying to indulge in a conversation with him.

| ─── | Kim looked up at Damion.
An older boy stood before him, someone he didn't recognize from the sorting ceremony earlier. But that was probably to be expected as if Damion was older, that would mean he wouldn't have been part of the ceremony from before. Kim let his blue eyes flicker over the older boy, who introduced himself as Damion White, a third year of Ravenclaw. "Kim. You can call me Kim Aoki. I'm one of the new first years of Gryffindor." He replied, letting his gaze linger on Damion for a moment. Kim paused, wondering why Damion had come over to him. Did he want something from him? Or was he going to offer some help?? Kim wasn't much of a small talker. So it was hard for him to keep a conversation going, unless he was invested in it. Since he didn't know this person and he also didn't have much to say, an awkward silence fell between them. One that was only broken when Damion spoke again, although his words weren't exactly questions Kim could answer. Damion's last words did make Kim curious though. "What are you referring to? The numerous clubs I've heard are prevalent around Hogwarts?" Kim asked him. Kim let his blue eyes flicker over Damion. As he waited for his response, Kim bit into a meat pastry and also scooped some curry into his mouth too. Mmm, this was definitely a delicious combination. It worked perfectly together, just as he'd thought it would. He repeated the process, enjoying the deliciousness of his choices. |

Damion looked at Kim hoping that he was not being a creep. He was not wanting to be one. He was just trying to be a friendly young man. He might sometimes come across as a little too… well he was not that boy anymore. He was trying to do better. He looked at Kim and smiled. "Welcome to Hogwarts, Kim." Damion said looking at him. He was hoping that the young boy would be okay if Damion was around. He didn’t want to make Kim feel like he was trying to be overwhelming or trying to be unfriendly. "I am glad you will find the castle very interesting." He said looking at him. "Gryffindor. Isn’t the house animal a Lion? My house’s animal is an Eagle." He said.
Damion looked at him and hoped that the younger Gryffindor would not feel awkward with the small talks that Damion was trying to do. He never wanted him to feel that way. But when Damion didn’t know anything about the younger boy, how could he talk about things. "Yes the numerous clubs that are there around the Hogwarts. I am part of a bunch of them." He said smiling. "I would suggest you to check them out and maybe you might find some that might peak your interests." He said looking at him. He smiled. He was hoping that he was not pressuring the younger boy to try things before he was ready for it.
Damion glanced at the younger Gryffindor boy and smiled. He was hoping that he was not trying to do things that the younger boy didn’t want to do. Well all he was doing was suggesting that to him. He was not going to force him to do things. He was not that type of boy to be honest. He looked at him and then took a small bite of his food before glancing back at him. "So what hobbies do you have?" He asked looking at him. "I like reading, baking, knitting and cooking."

He'd welcomed him to Hogwarts twice in a row now. Could it be a special quirk of his to do this? Maybe he did it to everyone? Or was he just trying to make him feel really welcome? These thoughts churned around inside his mind but outwardly Kim didn't show any signs of this. All he did was acknowledge Damion's words with a nod of his head to show he'd understood what he'd said. But it still didn't tell him why this older boy had approached him in the first place. Was it just to welcome him? Would he leave directly afterward? Nope. It seemed like he wanted to sit down and chat with him for some reason.... Why? Had he showed some unknown interest in him before? Kim was at a loss as to how to react and what to say in response to this boy he hadn't even known existed until this very second. Damion was definitely not too bad on the eyes but that was beside the point! Kim nodded at the older boy's words about the animals of their houses. "Mm. It's a lion. Hufflepuff is a badger and Slytherin is a snake. Unlike a lot of students, I already know a lot about Hogwarts. My parents already told me about it before...." Damion went on to tell him he was part of a lot of clubs. Then, he suggested Kim check them out and see if he might be interested in them. It made sense. After all, that was where students tended to learn things outside of regular classes. Kim had to admit, he had been looking forward to joining some clubs during his time at Hogwarts. Maybe Damion would have some suggestions. Kim finished off his meat pastries, now all that was left was the remainder of the curry he'd taken, but he focused his attention on Damion for now. "What clubs are you in? You said you're in a bunch of them." Kim asked and shrugged at Damion's question about his hobbies. There were too many.... He'd dabbled in pretty much everything back when he'd been a child, courtesy of being left alone for much of the time. "Ah, there are a lot of them. Too much to go through right now. But let's just say I like all the things you do. Well, other than knitting. I know how to do it a little but it's not particularly something I'd say I like doing often. Are there clubs that have something to do with your interests?" Kim asked, curious. If there were clubs for them, he'd definitely check them all out.. |

First meet!!

Damion looked at the younger boy. Was he being too into Kim’s face? Or was he being his general friendly self? He was not sure. He wished that someone would have been this friendly when he started his own schooling. Well maybe then he wouldn’t have spent his first year being a loner. Well maybe because how lonely his own first year was, he didn’t want anyone else to face that, he was trying to make an effort to know the first year students. He was hoping that he was being friendly and not seeming like a person who wanted attention. Maybe he craved the attention but he was not going to do anything about it. He had his cat, Jasper that gave him attention.
Damion was trying and failing at the same time in the awkward conversation he was having with the younger boy. Kim had only been here for what a week and Damion had been there for three years. He would know what animal was in the Gryffindor house. Damion slapped himself in his mind. He looked at him with a little laugh. "Oh well that is really nice." He said. He needed to stop with the foolish questions. He took another bite of his food and picked up the napkin on the table to wipe his face.
Damion sighed finding himself in a fix. He had noticed a lot of them but was he really in a lot them. As far as he could remember there was none that catered to his hobbies. He sighed softly hoping that Kim wouldn’t notice that he was sighing. He had not been very involved in things that were relating to outdoor activities. He was sort of a loner. He looked at him and said "Oh I am in a few of them that make me indulge in the hobbies I have. I have not seen a cooking club yet but I had been part of a baking errand." He looked at him. "The school staff and prefects sometimes organize errands that gives you an opportunity to do things like knitting, decorating, cleaning, pet pampering, and many more, which in turn gives you house points and or money." He said.
Damion looked at him and smiled. He had quite a few hobbies himself besides the ones he had mentioned. "Oh I hope you find something to take care of the hobbies you have." He said. He looked at him and said "There are classes too." There he goes giving unnecessary information. Of course when it’s a school there would be classes. "Do you have any subject that you like?" He asked. He was not sure what his own favorite subject was to be honest. But he wouldn’t mind knowing Kim’s.

When it came to pretty much anyone other than himself, as with himself he tended to be quite oblivious. It was kind of funny in that aspect, although Kim himself was not aware of this. Picking up on how Damion sighed, the boy wondered what the reason behind that sigh had been. Could he be annoyed with him? Or bored? Or did it have nothing to do with him at all? Kim regarded him, trying to read Damion. However, when the older boy suddenly spoke about a baking errand, Kim raised a brow. Well, that sounded interesting! Before he could ask more about it, Damion elaborated, going into an explanation about errands. "They sound like a lot of fun to do. How often do they come up?" Kim asked, curious. As Damion told him there were classes too, Kim couldn't help but smirk at him. "You're cute." He said with a shake of his head, finding Damion endearing when it came to his fumbling words. The older boy then asked what subjects he liked the most at the place. "Herbology has always been my favorite. I love plants and herbs. Vanilla and lavender are my favorite scents. Charms is also pretty fun though." He said. "Most of the classes are fun though in general..." Well, other than flying... "What about you?" Kim asked, letting his blue eyes linger on Damion. |

Damion didn’t know why he was sighing. Was it because he felt foolish for asking the dumb questions? He could have felt stupid for asking the dumb questions. How had Damion become so dumb? Or was it because he was feeling something for the younger boy. Oi! Wait, he had just met him. He looked at Kim and smiled. Something about the younger boy had Damion mesmerized. Or well he felt drawn to the younger boy. He smiled again. He was not sure what else to do. This was getting a little awkward. He talked about things that he liked. Like the errands that he had done.
Damion looked at him and smiled as he heard what Kim was saying. "They usually happen during the breaks. And I think they happen after the school term is done and students are on a break." Damion said looking at him. He was not sure if what he was saying was right. Damion raised his eye borw as he heard what Kim was saying about him being cute. He blushed as he heard Kim say that. "Aww You are pretty." He said blushing more. Damion looked at her as he heard him talk about what subjects he liked. "Ooh I see." He noted what Kim was saying mentally. He was glad to know things about Kim. "Um.. I don’t like Herbology. It just seems a little complicated to me." He said. He looked at him and bit his own lips.
"I agree. I don’t understand Transfiguration either. It seems to be something that is difficult to understand." Damion said. He looked at him and smiled as he heard what Kim was saying. "I like Potions and Charms. But my favorite subject is Defense Against the Dark Arts." He said looking at him.

He'd have to keep an eye out for these errands whenever they decided to pop up at the castle. One thing was for sure, Kim didn't want to miss out on them as they seemed important. When Damion told him he was pretty, the younger boy made a face and shook his head a little. "Eh, I'm alright. I'm sure there are lots of others who are prettier." He said, brushing off the compliment as if he either didn't believe it or didn't like being praised about his looks. Unfortunately, Damion admitted that he didn't like Herbology and their conversation came to a halt on that particular subject. Of course it wasn't awkward now. It was true that it wasn't just awkward, it was very awkward. But then Damion broke the silence between them by telling him his own favorite classes. Much better. Although Kim preferred silence, awkward silence was worse. "Mm. Transfiguration homework isn't my forte. The actual spells I can do without a problem. But explaining the reasoning behind the spells... well sometimes my brain shuts off and it goes blank." Kim admitted. He wasn't about to touch the subject of flying, that was a ticking bomb. Something he wouldn't bring up at all, ever. Because talking about the subject would inevitably end with a question about the dreaded subject. One that Kim probably couldn't answer without giving away he was uncomfortable with it, which in turn would lead to impressions being made. And that could turn into rumors, which could spread and then develop into giving him a reputation that would haunt him for the rest of his time at Hogwarts. It was best to simply avoid the subject entirely and never bring it up on his own. Kim nodded as Damion told him Potions and Charms were classes he liked but his favorite was Defense Against the Dark Arts. Kim wasn't surprised... "I'm not surprised, it's a class most students probably would be overly excited about." He remarked and then glanced around upon realizing a lot of the people who had been in the great hall earlier were now gone. Ah, lunch was almost over, which meant his last class of the day was about to start soon. Kim liked to get there early or late, never on time. On time meant he'd need to thread his way through tons of people. Early meant he could avoid them. Late meant he could also avoid them, but that came with a risk. Lots of people would stare at him if he was late. Therefore, Kim preferred to be as early as possible. It was the best solution to his anxiety problem. "Ah, sorry but I have to go to class now. I like to get there early, so if you'll excuse me? I'm sure we'll see eachother around again soon. Damion, right?" Kim said, making sure he remembered his name correctly. He grabbed his satchel and slung it over his shoulder as he got up from the table and inclined his head towards Damion briefly before raising a hand into the air. "Zàijiàn!" Kim said, using the Mandarin word for goodbye, his trademark farewell, and then headed out of the room to Potions... |
