The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
When the girl laughed Becky felt a profound relief wash over her. Relaxing her shoulders, which she didn't realize had been so tense, she listened to the girl.
Grabbing a glass of her own and pouring her own fruit punch, Becky turned to this girl, "You know, I still don't know your name. If you die then I won't know who's making me fail potions class." That was morbid, Becky thought, I hope she doesn't take that literally.
"Ha, I wish I had that sort of talent," Becky chuckled as the girl took the glass from her hand. She thought there was something sweet in this girl's demeanor that made Becky want to get to know her more."I really thought that was a potion. I won't lie, it would have been impressive if it was. Most pure-blood students can't even concoct a potion in their first year before classes".
Becky started filling her plate with vegetables, heeding her grandmother's warnings of proper nutrition. A Jewish grandmother has supernatural senses of what their grandchild eats. Becky wouldn't be surprised if there was magic involved with this. That's a funny thought, Becky pondered to herself, looking back at the girl."I need this drink now after eating that food anyways" she said as she took a sip from the cup.
Becky laughed, glad that the awkward moment had passed. "Well, that's worrying for my academic future," she joked, but then, remembering that the girl had taken her literally the first time she tried that, Becky added, "No, no. I am one hundrend percent sure. That is definitely fruit punch.""Curious" she said smiling, "you sure this isn't a poisonous potion? Because if I die from this, my dying wish will be that you fail potions class" she said jokingly.

Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because fiction is obliged to stick to the possibilities; truth isn't.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Aylee had been sorted into Ravenclaw like all the Silverstorms before her. She was relieved that she wouldn't have to deal with her parents disaproval over being sorted into another house. The new worry now was actually getting good grades, making her parents proud and making new friends because she did not feel like spending the next 7 years alone in the library... Aylee sat down at the Ravenclaw table and looked around a little wondering what to do next. The table was filled with delicious foods and drinks and her stomach grumbled in answer. Food was going to be first because honestly she was starving. All the nerves had make her forget to eat !
Aylee quickly filled her plate with several dishes that were closest to her and filled her goblet with pumpkin juice. The Great hall was buzzing with chatter from everyone and people getting to know each other or discussing their summer vacations with their friends. Aylee usually was a very carefree person and would just walk up to someone and introduce herself but the amount of people here in the Great Hall intimidated her a little and she was still getting used to her envoirement all together. Aylee's mind was still reeling from being sorted in the first place...
She slowly started eating her food and taking sips of Pumpkin Juice while looking around, to the enchanted ceiling that she read about in Hogwarts A histoy, the Teachers table where every staff member of Hogwarts was enjoying their meal as well and chattering with each other. New students who already had found new friends but also some who were quietly looking around like she was.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Cecily sighed as the feast began for the year. All the new Ravenclaws had been sorted, and everyone around her was chatting and eating. Cecily, however, did not feel like chatting tonight. She had a long train ride where she almost didn't find a compartment, and all she wanted to do was just read. Sadly, this was not the place to read. Almost everyone in the Great Hall was chatting (Cecily did see some people also reading books), and it was impossible to have one second of peace and quiet. Cecily would have gone to the Ravenclaw common room, but knew she probably couldn't answer the riddle, and she couldn't see any prefects from her spot. Finally accepting that she wouldn't find peace and quiet that night at the table, Cecily decided to think. Just think. Happy thoughts. She remembered how exactly one year ago when she first sat down at the Ravenclaw table. That was when she had just been sorted into Ravenclaw. She remembered how she slowly sat down at the table, wishing she had been sorted into Hufflepuff. Cecily really had thought that Hufflepuff house was for her. She knew she belonged in the House of the badger. Her whole family knew it too. Even to this point, Cecily didn't really know why she was sorted into Ravenclaw, but was determined to find out sooner that soon. After a couple months at Hogwarts, Cecily accepted that she was in Ravenclaw and just was herself for the first year. After a while, she kind of forgot the fact that she had wanted to be sorted into Hufflepuff. She had felt like Ravenclaw was her home. She did feel like she had fit in to the house perfectly.
Something had also surprised Cecily when she came to Hogwarts. She had made friends. Yes, friends. Cecily was surprised at this because she was pretty shy. She always cared about school more than making friends, but after a while at Hogwarts, Cecily became lonely. Very lonely. Without any siblings in her own house, Cecily did not have anyone to be with. No one to study with, no one to talk to, and no one to go to for help or comfort. Then it happened. Cecily went out of her comfort zone and met a couple of people. Then after a while, meeting people and making friends became pretty easy for her, which was something Cecily thought she could never accomplish.
Thinking about these things, made Cecily forget all about all the noise in the Great Hall. She snapped back to reality and realized she was still holding her book. It must have been at least fifteen minutes she had been thinking about all these things. How time flies!
Cecily looked around. No one seemed to have left their place. Everyone was still chatting as loudly as ever and eating. Not being able to think about any other things, Cecily tried to read again. Nope, still too loud. Cecily then looked around for people she knew. No, she didn't spot anyone she knew. What else could she do? After a while, Cecily realized that if she wanted to read, she would have to ask someone to keep the noise down. Turning to a girl next to her, Becky Linberg , she said,
"Excuse me, not to be rude or anything, but do you mind talking a little quieter? This book here is very interesting, you see, and I can't read in this noise."
Maybe that was a little too harsh, Cecily thought.
She never meant to be rude to the girl, and she hoped the girl knew that. Hoping to cover up her harshness, she smiled as polietly and kindly as she could.

As the sorting ended everyone around him had engaged in conversation. Some new each other well, while other's gave feeble attempts at conversation. He picked up a bread roll that looked quite buttery and bit in. He glanced around now shy to talk. Then he remembered he probably wouldn't make it through Hogwarts alone. He put this out of his mind and began to eat. He ate, wings, chicken nuggets, and plenty of other chicken items. His stomach never seemed to want to stop eating. He finally turned to the person next to him and tried to make a joke. "What happened to the bad wizard at school? He got Ex-SPELLED!" Right after he said this it occurred to him that the joke made no sense and no one would think it was funny. He went back to eating, but this time he was chowing down on creamy cookies n' cream ice cream. He looked around and thought. "What if I never fit in?" When this thought occurred he put down his spoon and simply watched those around him. Everyone had jolly of faces void of hunger and sadness. Everyone was happy enjoying themselves. Expect him. He tried to make conversation one last time by again turning to the person next to him and saying, "Hey." And that was all.

When the sorting seremony stopped Kiya sat down to the Ravenclaw Table. She was confused as this all was so new to her. She had no idea how to live here or how to make friends or, to be honest, do anything. She sat quietly thinking about what she already had learned today. In Hogwarts there are four houses. This she actually knew before. Her father had told this in his letter. And Kiya was sorted to the house of Ravenclaw. Then, for the first time that day, Kiya smiled. She remembered that her father had also been a ravenclaw. Maybe it runs in family? Kiya thought. Although I don't know my father and I don't feel like he is my familymember. Kiya stopped smilig. That thought made her quite sad. Thinking about her family. Mother, little sister and grandparents. She shook her head and tried to focus. She noticed a girl sitting right in front of her. Kiya watched silently when she slowly started eating and drinking. Kiya thought that the Pumpkin Juice looked delicious and wanted to try it. She looked for a bottle or something that had juice in it. After looking for a short while she noticed some right next to the girl in front of her. Kiya didn't usually do something like this, but she really wanted to try the Pumpkin Juice. It took her a while, but finally she built up some courage to ask the girl to pass her the juice.Aylee Silverstorm wrote: 31 Aug 2018, 12:02 She slowly started eating her food and taking sips of Pumpkin Juice while looking around, to the enchanted ceiling that she read about in Hogwarts A histoy, the Teachers table where every staff member of Hogwarts was enjoying their meal as well and chattering with each other. "Hi. Excuse me. Could you please pass me the Pumpkin Juice?"
As soon as those few words got out of her mouth she suddendly felt nervous again. What if - quiestions swirled in her head. Kiya shooked her head. Come on Kiya, she thought. This is stupid. Be brave and wait for her answer. It can not be as bad as you think. You just asked for some juice. Then Kiya looked at the first student she spoke to in Hogwarts.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Erin quietly sat down at the Ravenclaw Table in the Great Hall, she had not made any friends yet. But she was glad to see that everyone was happy and enjoying themselves. However, Erin didn't want to join in because I was worried that because she only had 10 months before the and of year exams that she thought that she would need to start studying straight away. She opened 'Magical Drafts and Potions' and started reading so that she would not forget anything it said. Erin barely noticed what was going on around her. She was most worried about Potions because she had practised Charms and Transfiguration at home but couldn't buy potions ingredients to practice Potions and that was her first lesson today. Plus, she had more time to study for all the other subjects except Charms, which was straight after recess. Even though she didn't have time to study Charms Erin felt confident about it because she had been practising every charm that she needed to do during her first year and had mastered most of them by now. Erin had some eggs and bacon for breakfast but didn't feel like eating too much. She had never been someone who ate a lot.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Vesper settled onto the benches, chewing a strand of her hair. If her mother had seen her, she would receive a smack of the hand and a gentle reprimand. "Young ladies don't chew their hair, dear. It's not becoming. How many times must I tell you that?"
A lot of times, Vesper thought. But her mother wasn't their to tell her otherwise, so she continued to grind the piece between her teeth.
All of this was so new to her. Up until a few months ago, magic had only been in fairy tales. To hear that there was an entire society, cloaked and hidden from normal people - or Muggles as she'd been told - milling about the world was just incredible. And the fact that Vesper herself was considered apart of that world now...the idea never failed to give her heart an extra kick.
With a soft sigh, she reached across the table for some food, another bad habit she would have been scolded for back home. She would have to get used to the idea of not having someone hanging over her shoulder. It felt freeing already. She would be able to do whatever she pleased, as long as she was within the limits of the rules.
Stuffing her mouth with pudding, she looked around the table, a small, expectant smile on her face.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Tina sat across from a girl whose mouth was stuffed with pudding. She wasn't very hungry due to the constant anxiety she was feeling. 'How do people make friends?' she asked herself. She took a deep breath as she grabbed a nearby biscuit and took a small bite. Unfortunately, the biscuit didn't distract her from her problems. It was time for her to face them heads on. Her mother may have been right about making human friends, but she would have made some friends if her family didn't insist on living in isolation.
She looked around the table and saw how everyone was having a great time, talking as if they had known each other for a long time. She began to fidget by adjusting her glasses and subconsciously fixing her hair. 'How do people start conversations again?' she thought, asking herself. Do they begin by greeting or asking an interesting question? Maybe she should try both?
"Hi, I'm Tina. What's your name?" she says before realizing that her question wasn't interesting. "I mean, do you believe pigs can fly?"
She buried her face in her hands as she waited for the girl across from her to respond. Why couldn't she have stuck with her normal question? Now she's going to think she's weird.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
Ravenclaw. Ravenclaw.
As Ezekiel walked toward the long table, his new house's name tumbled around in his head. It seemed about right, although he believed he could fit in any of the houses. Something inside of him hoped he would be in Ravenclaw, however. He had always wanted to follow in his mother's footsteps, and Ravenclaw was where she stood. Ravenclaw is good.
As he approached, he observed the multitude of students, young and old. "Hey guys," he said as he sat, but he doubted he could be heard over the excessive chatter. First years blabbed left and right about their new life, while the other years mostly caught up with eachother about what happened over the summer. Either way, everyone seemed excited about the new year.
Ezekiel missed his mother. He hoped that she was watching him sitting at the same table she sat at many years ago. He believed that he could live up to his mother's expectations. He already felt like a proud Ravenclaw. If only his father was there to see him. Ezekiel remembered what his father told him before he said good-bye...
"Now, son. I know fer a fact that yer gonna be the best wizard in history, that yer gonna make yer mark. So study hard, play nice, and don't ye forget our promise..."
"Make Mum proud."
"I love ye so much, Zeke. Now go make yer mark."
And that's exactly what he was determined to do.

The Ravenclaw Table 2018-2019
The Ravenclaw table. Eri sat in a spot not crowded with people in the intent of not having to socialize with people. The brunette sat in her spot and watched the new students get sorted. Her green eyes watched as some walked over to Slytherin, some to Griffindor, some to Hufflepuff, and others to Ravenclaw.
Eri remembered her sorting ceremony. It wasn't shocking at all for her to be sorted into Ravenclaw. It was expected. Either Ravenclaw or Slytherin. It would have been a big shock if she was put into Hufflepuff. Gryffindor would have been slightly expected but not as much as Ravenclaw or Slytherin was.
The twelve year old enjoyed her good as she silently observed the newcomers and fellow Ravenclaws. If someone was to sit next to her or talk to her, she wouldn't ignore them, but she wouldn't really tell them much about herself. It wasn't her thing. Some people were fine with sharing their information, but she wasn't fine with that.
Eri took a small bite of her mashed potatoes and a small sip of her water as she listened in on some conversations that were currently going on at the table between first years.
