Closed A Step Towards Unity Group 6

Damion was hoping to get Kim's attention but he was not sure if he would get that to be honest. He could see that Kim was sort of pre-occupied with snakes. Snakes!! Well Kim could have had a liking of snakes. He was not going to think much about it. He looked at him and smiled. He was happy that Kim was talking to him.

Damion looked at the Snake that Kim had or was near him. Guessing that that Snake's name was Aero. "Aero is beautiful, Kim." He said. He was sort of scared of snakes. Not like the other certain reptile that he had a fear of. But he knew Snakes could be poisonous so he would keep his distance from them.

Damion looked at Fiona as he heard her address to him. "Hey Fiona!" He said smiling. "You made it here" He added with a grin. He was glad that she was here. He sort of felt good with Fiona around. He looked at the others there and smiled. He was not sure who in his group was different. And for what it mattered, he was not worried about it.

Not even if that person was Kim. Shaking his head slightly he looked at Fiona again. It had been a while since he last saw Fiona. He smiled and looked at her again. "So... Fiona what have you been up to?" Damion asked hoping that he was not stepping to much into her privacy! he wouldn't want to do that to be honest. He wouldn't want to make her feel like he was overwhelming her. He wouldn't want anyone to feel that way. He was hoping that he was not being too nosy or too into the face. He wouldn't want anyone to think that he didn't respect people's privacy! He was not that type of a person. He wanted to be a good boy. Be a good mentor.

Damion looked around where he was sitting and smiled. He was glad that he was close to Kim. Yes the younger Gryffindor boy he was crushing head over heels with. He was happy that he was there. Despite everything that had happened, he was glad that this was something that they (Kim and Damion) were doing together. He would have wanted to spend his time staring at Kim but he knew that wouldn't help him or get him to do things so maybe that was not going to be a good idea. He looked at Kim for second before turning his attention to Fiona hoping that she would answer his questions. He also hoped that he was not being to overwhelming for the New Ravenclaw First Year student. He didn't want her to feel overwhelmed or feel ganged by his questions.

"Interesting, did some else sign you up for it then?" Adlai asked Kim as she took interest in his alleged not signing up for the event. "Or did you decide to sneak in?" She added at the end after taking another moment to think about it. "You can tell me, I'm really good at keeping secrets!" She said before he answered and confirmed that his friends has signed him up. Nodding along Adlai then turned her attention to her long time friend.

"Yes! Me and my little scaly friend have been together for a while now. I just typically don't let her out of mine or my sister's dorm. I don't know what would happen if I took her everywhere with me, some kids have a big fear of snakes and I don't want anything bad happening to her even if she wouldn't hurt a fly." She explained before continuing, "Her name is Dafina! And who is this little fellow?" She asked gesturing to the snake on Cash's arm. "I'm sure now would be a fantastic time to make introductions, if they like each other I wouldn't say no so a play date."

Her attention drawn to another who had entered the room, Damion White, whom she believed she had first met in the library. She didn't know him well but she remembered their brief encounter being pleasant. "Hello! It's good to see you again to Damion." She said, before giving a welcoming smile and nod to two other girls who had joined the group not too long ago. She did not know their names, or she simply couldn't recall them and was too prideful to make a fool of herself by addressing them while attempting to remember the names.

Fiona smiled shyly as Damion greeted her. "Yes, I made it," she said softly. She wasn't entirely sure about all of the people in the room, but she wanted to try and be friendly and meet new people. She had joined this errand in an effort to get herself out of her comfort zone, but she still wasn't sure how to make new friends. Damion had taken her under his wing metaphorically, and she was grateful for him being willing to let her be a little bit of a burden by always following him around. She hated that she was so shy. Fiona hoped that she wouldn't always be hiding behind Damion when she was nervous.

Fiona looked around nervously as she saw that there were more than one snake there. She wasn't necessarily afraid of them, but she was still a little wary. She was certain that they wouldn't harm her though, so she eventually relaxed, letting out a breath as she let go of the tension that she had originally built up in her shoulders. Fiona turned her attention back to Damion when he asked her a question. "I've not been up to much of anything..." she admitted quietly. "I still haven't made many friends and I don't really know how to talk to people I don't know..." she added. She felt comfortable talking to Damion but other people were new and she was nervous. She frowned when she realized what she had said. She didn't mean to tell Damion all of that, but she wasn't upset about it. She just wanted to make friends, but approaching new people made her so anxious.

Fiona watched quietly as Kim and the others interacted about the snakes in the room. She bit her lip before trying to get herself to speak again. "T-They are... cuter than I expected," she said, her voice soft. She was a little hesitant to speak but she wanted to try and make new friends if she could. She knew that she didn't want to hold the snakes, but she could at least watch them. She looked at Damion again, looking for a bit of encouragement to continue to step out of her comfort zone.

Puffie squeeked as Bailey approached, which made her smile. He took the chocolate frog and the cup of tea, and told her that she should take a seat and relax.
She smiled, and sat balanced on the edge of Kim’s chair.
Cash greeted bailey, and Bailey smiled back at the fourth year, with a cheerful “Hiiiii Cass how are you?”
Kim joked with her, mentioning that she was a bad influence on Siro- who she knew was his nickname for Damion. She smirked and rolled her eyes at him.
“Heyyy I’m just helping you not become a recluse! Though we should just hang out some time, just the two of us, with no social event…. When our schedule allow at least.”
Moments later Damion showed up. He greeted them all, and then asked how she and Kim were.
She smiled and said “we actually were just talking about you! All good things, I promise!”
Fiona then showed up. Bailey vaguely knew her, she was a first year Ravenclaw and they had passed ways in the common room and such.
“Hiii Fiona!!! How are you??” Bailey asked, cheerful as ever.
She took a sip of her tea, and smiled. Her free arm that was not holding her tea was lightly placed on the back of Kim’s chair, not touching Kim, but close enough that she could. Close enough she could run her fingers through his hair, to play with his hair, to trail her fingers over his shoulder…
NO Bailey her mind screamed. DO not do that that is not what friends do you are just friend just friend just friends!!!

"Well, whether you're here against your will or because you decided to come I'm sure we're all glad you're here. It's nice to get out of the dorms every once and awhile and socialize!" Adlai said to Kim as she smiled at the exchange between him and his friend. "That at the very least applies to me, I can't go too long without talking to someone or I go a little loony. I just have so many words flying around my head that its hard to keep them all inside." Adlai went on before beginning to think that she should real herself back in. After all she understood that some people didn't find her straight forward mentality and wording to be very endearing.

Adlai then beamed at the small note Fiona had made about her and Cash's scaly pals being cute. "Yes!" She exclaimed as Dafina began to move upon and down her arms in an attempt to put themselves in a more comfortable position. "People are often times very afraid of snakes but what they don't understand are that the snakes are more afraid of them! Just think, you're minding your own business on the floor and then all of a sudden a giant appears and starts jumping around! It would be very startling, wouldn't it?"

Bailey was still perched on the edge of kim's chair, happily with her arm on the top of the chair. Her fingers were still dangerously close to kim's hair, a forbidden pleasure.
For now, bailey contented herself, sitting on the arm of the chair, with Puffie on her shoulder. Bailey used the arm that had jsut been on the back of the chair to reach her other shoulder, and while reaching over... her fingers gently carressed the back of kims head. light as a fairy's touch, so gentle kim may have not felt it. Bailey did not do this intentionally, her arms were just long, and hard to maneuver at times.
Bailey cuddled with Puffie, and scrached the little puff ball's head while Kim made googly love eyes at the snake, that bailey thought was called Aero.
Snakes were not bailey's favorite animal, but she did not mind them much. She thought they were interesting, but they would never be her choice of pet.
Adlai made a very valid point - humans probably scared the snakes, and any animal in general just because of their gigantic size.
Bailey sat there still cuddling puffie, listening interested into the conversation Kim and the others were having.

"Yes!" Adlai exclaimed confirming to Kim that Dafina was indeed her beloved pets name. "I haven't had her for long. Maybe a couple months? My sister and I adopted her during the summer when we were making our rounds to get some school supplies."

"It's a funny story really. My sister, Dorothy, wasn't too keen on coming to Hogwarts. Learning about magic turned her and I's world upside down. We have muggle parents and so magic wasn't even an actual concept in our family until I discovered my abilities." Adlai began. "So we were getting school supplies she wasn't too happy, so I took her to the pet store and try and cheer her up. It was during then that we saw Dafina for the first time, that same day we took her home with us!"

"How about you Cash? How long have you had Aero?" Adlai queried as she turned to her friend. She wondered about what snake related topics they would be able to talk about in the future. Shedding? Mice feeding? Maybe even the topic of mouth rot?
