Quidditch Ravenclaw vs Gryffindor - Winter 2023

Elena was marveling mostly at the fact they were now having a Quidditch match under the supervison of the sun. She couldn't recollect the amoung of times it had been blistering cold or where you couldn't even see two feet in front of you. She thought she recalled an instance where it had been raining too but that might have been her imagination. The sun was a first though and she was keen to redeem them after their loss against Hufflepuff, not exactly what the brunette would call a great start to her career as a Seeker but good things came with time, at least that's what she kept telling herself.

As she gradually settled into her position on her broom, her eyes out of curiosity began scanning the Ravenclaw teaam mostly for Lavinia, a fellow friend. She was unfamiliar with most of the faces but a few like the Ravenclaw chaster stood out as her Firebolt steadied underneath her gauging everything happening around her. One loss might be acceptable, however, there were no such thing as second changes in her book.

2. In the role of Seeker, if an opponent attempts to Bludger or Blatch you, there is a 20% chance that you veer out of the way the last second and another enemy player at RANDOM is targeted instead.

3. In the role of Seeker, when using the search action if you critically fail on your search you get a re-roll in an attempt to find the snitch. In an attempt to grab the snitch, if you critically fail on your attempt to grab the snitch you get to re-roll your attempt to grab the snitch.

Lavinia Cloven did not realize how much of a workload her 5th year would have. It was insane how much work she was getting to prepare for her upcoming owl exams. Her goal was to pass with decent enough marks to appease her parents, but she wasn’t worried about her owls deciding her future. Lavinia was going to become a professional quidditch player and put all of her extra time into practicing. Studying strategies, refining her skills, and pushing her broom to the limit, Lavinia was doing it all.

The goal was to set herself up so she would get recruited to a professional quidditch, and every match along the way set herself up for that. Unfortunately she been knocked out at the start of the last match, but was determined to not have it happen again. She needed to show off her skills and make it clear that she was the player to beat. Ravenclaw had a boatload of new players to the team, yet Lavinia was determined to help them win their first match. This was Ravenclaw’s match to win and she was going to make sure of that.

The game had started and Edward wasn't sure what to do. Sure, looking for the snitch would have been a great idea but he instead spotted Taisia and got totally distracted.
Only when the commentator announced 30 points to Gryffindor, Edward looked around.
He saw that somehow also his whole team was doing.. nothing? Gryffindor scored further: 40 points, 50 points! Cecily managed to dodge the bludgers that were sent towards her but none of the other chasers nor the keeper was doing anything. What is happening here? he thought but since he didn't look for the snitch just now, he could not blame them either. He had to concentrate. CONCENTRATE! Get her out of your head for now, man!

As the game begins, Ethan takes to the air on his broom, club in hand. He grasps it tightly, his eyes narrowing in concentration.
 
The sound of his teammates' names snapped Ethan out of his attention, and he looked up just in time to see them score. “Nice one!”
 
His surprise turns to confusion when he sees that the Ravenclaw team is not moving. What's going on..?
 
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ethan attempts to hit one of the Ravenclaw players (@Cecily Quinn). But he misses and mutters a curse under his breath.

While the game started and Haley focused only on her target - the Quaffle - for the time being, she noticed after a few minutes that something was different. The action was... less than she was used to in other games. While her teammate scored the first goal for Gryffindor, Haley allowed herself a quick glance through the Ravenclaw team. She wasn't sure if all her senses were deceiving her but it seemed like they were... like they were doing nothing. Could that be the case? Without banging her head too hard, she continued to concentrate. She managed to score another 40 points for Gryffindor, but it was a strange feeling.

The opposing team was still doing nothing and the goals were unprotected. "Guys whats going on with them?" she asked the Gryffindor team in confusion, surely it wasn't just her who had noticed.

While Jay took the first goal of the game, the clearly better and older Haley had scored a lot more than him. Getting 40 points for the team, he cheered, but something felt off. What was Ravenclaw doing? Was it really that easy, or was it an off-day for them?

“No idea. But let’s take advantage of it as much as possible.” Jay said, cocking an eyebrow shortly before turning back to the pitch. Just keep scoring. With the way the game was going, it couldn’t be that harder. Don’t let your guard down though. That’ll be the death of you.
