Cu Sith the snake

Ah, wonderful. Another person joined the gathering. He seemed much older than the other students. Has Hanako seen him in class, maybe? Noticing irrelevant faces was not a talent of his, unfortunately. Nevertheless, Hanako returned his greeting with a small wave, though a bit devoid of energy. As if it was a robotic response to friendly greetings. He meant nothing from it. Hanako simply wasn’t an openly friendly person. And one thing he didn’t want to do is to fake enthusiasm for a stranger's arrival.

The boy who referred to himself as Hades Ser–Sche– anyway Hades, mentioned about who was missing, Hanako shrugged in response and shot a glance towards Dee, thinking she would be best to answer his question. He didn’t pay attention to who he was grouped with, afterall. But as one of the organisers of the events, Hanako’s glance towards her was his signal for Hades to ask her instead. How Hades interpreted it was up to him. Regardless, he seemed to be content with just eating his sandwich happily.

And what does it matter that she has revealed your name?” Hades asked after Hanako reintroduced himself. A question Hanako was not expecting in the slightest. “ It doesn’t” Hanako responded politely, though the smile he gave the boy seemed ingenuine. Neither his smile nor his polite tone could suppress the lightest irritation within them. “ But if you really want an answer, I just like to make it easier for people to address me~”. A snide comment about how Hades should do the same was withheld with little effort. Though it was plausible that Hades could deduce what Hanako wanted to say. It was not like Hanako had made an attempt to hide his slight annoyance towards the boy’s words. But alas, Hades was fortunate that Hanako knew when to keep his mouth shut. And today certainly isn’t the time to piss off anyone. Luckly, Hanako’s irritation is easily mellowed with very little time.

When Dee had asked all of them why they were here, Cu Sith’s primary target was the first one to step up and answer her.

"Hi, Edward... Edward Foxe. I.. I'm just.. I'm just curious" Though it took what Hana thought was ‘ages’ for Foxe to introduce himself, Hanako finds himself paying very close attention to him. One was because Cu Sith was currently staring at him like she's possessed, and another was his interesting reaction. Hanako failed to suppress a light snicker when he said "Nice to meet you." with a bit more volume. Cu Sith was going to have to go through another heartbreak from this. Perhaps it was from his Parselmouth heritage, but it certainly did alway strike him odd that anyone would show that much fright towards snakes. It was a reaction he was most foreign to, and yet ultimately amused by when it happened to others. Alas, he wasn’t about to allow a kid to stay scared for the rest of the gathering.

But…. mmaaaayyybbbeeeee just a littttleee while longerrr~. Cu Sith- despite her..traits.. tended to behave and stay a good measure away from people.

Hades, whos attention was previously captured by his delectable treat, finally decided it was the best time to answer Dee’s question. “As I’ve been a little distracted eating my sandwich, I’ve been a little disrespectful to focus my attention on it. I came here to socialize and meet people. I’ve been pretty absent in the previous years, so I could say I try to make up for the mistakes I’ve made.”

That was..at least more information than Foxe. Is not socialising a mistake to mend, though? Perhaps he’s talking about another sort of mistake? Hanako pondered on it but decided against asking. Perhaps it was simply a case of two different views. It was not a topic that was worth delving into, anyway.

Figuring that Foxe had enough of Cu Sith’s adoring gaze, Hanako shifted back his attention to the two. Just as he was about to call Cu Sith back, another hero swooped in to save Foxe from his distress.

Do not worry, they can not be dangerous, but otherwise Hanako would not be allowed to bring them to Hogwarts.”

Hana” Hanako snapped, attempting to correct him. Though adding nothing else.

I see you’re uncomfortable with the snake...” he muttered, staring at the little animal. And he pointed to a place “We can sit there and forget about your concern about the snake. As I mentioned earlier, they cannot cause harm. And if it happens, you won’t be the one in trouble.

Ah, yes. That’s a great idea, Hades. You are right about all of that “. And just like before, Hanako didn’t seem to mean what he said. A twinge of sarcasm laced in his tone as he kept up his polite smile. “ Snakes are just reaaaallyy scary, right? With their poissonnn or their sharp teethhh, and all. It does make me wonder though…” his eyes landed on Edward. “ Would you ever question why you’re scared of her? And if you’re given the chance to change your opinion of her, would you?” he posed it as a question, but he already had his answer. Or at least the answer he believed Edward to have.

To be fair he wasn’t exactly sure why he was this pressed. Just a minute ago, Foxe’s anxious reaction towards Cu Sith had made him laugh. Then again, whenever Cu Sith had accidentally scared anyone, Hanako would call her back after a good laugh and the two would continue on their way. This would have been the first time he was obliged to stay within the presence of people who weren’t so enthusiastic at the idea of snakes.

His roommate, Chen was a exception. Hanako had known him longer than both Hades and Edward. Behind his screams of terror, he wouldn’t have ever suggested excluding Cu Sith out of their room. Or at least not openly.

Perhaps it was the assurance from Hades that if anything were to happen, the fault would be on no one but Hanako. He had not said that exactly, but it certainly sounded like that. While all he said were truths, Hanako had been insulted that they seemed so confident that Cu Sith was even capable of doing anything apart from stare at them from a short distance. What did they think she was going to do? Bite them? Jump at them?

In the midst of all this, Cu Sith still remained completely fixated on her object of affection : Edward Foxe. Blissfully ignorant of his feelings of her. " CUTE!" she complimented through a loud hiss, though she didn't budge an inch from where she last was.

When Hades offered him to sit a bit further away from the snake, Edward was just about to accept but then Hanako replied in a sarcastic voice “Ah, yes. That’s a great idea, Hades. You are right about all of that. Snakes are just reaaaallyy scary, right? With their poissonnn or their sharp teethhh, and all. It does make me wonder though…” and addressed to Edward, Hanako asked “Would you ever question why you’re scared of her? And if you’re given the chance to change your opinion of her, would you?”

"I'm ..not scared." Edward exclaimed and tried really hard to sound confident. He didn't want to come across as a coward. Even though he was happy to have the support from Hades and really hoped that they might become friends, he didn't want to be bullied by Hana or his snake. Edward thought it might be better to overcome his fear and stay where he was. He hoped that Hades would understand and not be offended that he didn't took his offer in that moment.

He actually thought of Hanakos question. The snake didn't do anything so far, except for screeching, hissing and staring at him. So why was he scared? It's exactly what he said. Poison. Sharp teeth. And why is it so fixiated at me?
Edward remembered the purpose of the meeting: to get to know other students of mixed race or with special talents. So he should rather be open. Of course, it would be easier with a bit more distance between him and the snake but then again, Hanako seemed to have trained it fairly well. And there were also more people present to help if the snake did something to him. Thinking of this actually made him calm enough to feel a hint of curiosity.
"Then maybe tell us a bit more about your snake, Hana."

Clark must've been struck with a form of a daze... so much was happening and it flew over Clark's head. He only dyed his hair the night before- just to ensure that he potentially sticks out.

Sure, his height wasn't too impressive nor daunting, but it was enough just to distinguish himself from the others.

He answered some of the questions/greetings he were met with- a tinge of nervousness in his throat and vocal cords. "Ah, yes. I'm..." Should he reply to him (@Edward Foxe)? It's probably going to be a bull response and he didn't exactly want to trigger anger at him right now, but on the other hand... "I'm Clark. Maybe you've heard of me? I specialize in Dragon Dung, as a matter of fact, I got some dragon dung in my pockets right now. It's not much but it's enough to mess the situations up beyond a reasonable doubt."

As if that weren't enough, Clark opened his mouth to talk more, to elaborate, to reveal his idea, before he finally came with the hair-brained idea to shut the hell up. He's been getting in trouble every single moment and it wasn't exactly delightful, and part of it was his stupid mouth and him never shutting up.

He replied back to the 'Hey' by a kid (@Guinevere Russetwood) with a remark. "Howdy. Tra srek raovar verr cuka oksar aeui kuum." The grim reaper will come after you soon. It was a reply that was in Gobbledygook.

He wouldn't dare utter to the gal what he meant, and if he had to translate it for her, he felt he would be condemned to a life of detentions. It wasn't a dream, especially when the Ravenclaw prefect came in.

He screamed when a snake slithered to him, not wanting to be poisoned by any venomous fangs if they happened to have it. He yelled at the owner (@Hanako Tone). "WHAT THE HELL? GET HIM AWAY FROM ME! I DON'T WANNA DIE TODAY! I HAVE PLANS FOR TOMMOROW!"

A brisk jump of terror, he ran behind the prefect (@Dealla Prince), quietly whispering to her, hoping she could hear him. "Soqa ka, koqa ka! I dum's voms su dea sudoae! Praoka, vraoka!" Save me, save me! I don't want to die today! Please, please!

He switched back to tongues, his language that was a bit native for him. Something his dad taught him.

"Wros sra rarr du aeui kaom kessems? I'k ksomdems!" What the hell do you mean sitting? I'm standing! He slowly snuck out from his hiding spot behind the bird.

Then a vintage hufflepuff (@Hades Scwheighöfer) seemed to have joined the group and Clark couldn't help but groan loudly. "HOW MANY MORE DO WE NEED HERE?"

After whining, he wondered if he needed to introduce himself further. "I'm Clark William Baird-Carter and I'm a Part Goblin, in my first year. I wouldn't be surprised if you've heard of me. I feel famous- but I swear if you all say you don't know me I will scream."

He calmly looked on. "I speak gobbledygook. This might sound like gibberish to everyone else, but we- part goblins and goblins communicate via a language called Gobbledygook."

He glared at the redhead and mouthed the words at him 'Shut uppp!'

He reverted back and shut up, trying to be respectful without insulting anyone. It would bring Clark into consideration but he was scared to learn of the possible consequences of learning about a potentially deadly animal (the snake). He took a seat and stared daggers into the eyes of the redhead.

His glare softened, and he tried to look as positive as possible without the potential of angering anyone. "Please do tell us about uh- whats their name- the snake..."

Honestly, Adelaide wasn't entirely sure why she had even bothered to sign up for this errand. She had much more important things to do. Studying, for one. Preparing for the upcoming Duelling stage that was rapidly approaching (this upcoming weekend, to be exact), for two. Or rather anything that was a more productive use of her time. But it had interested her, when she saw the notice. The Ravenclaw was an advocate for equality for everyone, it didn't matter whether someone was a werewolf or a dhampir. She didn't base her judgement on someone's race, or something they couldn't control. So, that was why she was here, even if she could be doing something more productive.

The potential conflict that was hopefully promised for this specific group was an added bonus. She loved conflict, and was in a mood to piss someone off. Though, Adelaide always seemed to be in a mood to piss someone off recently. But she was running late. Time had passed by quickly, like it always seemed to do now. She usually just trudged through her days without bothering to pay attention to her watch. Entering the Rehearsal Room, it was evident just how late she was. The room was already bustling with noise, but she made her way over to the group that she'd been assigned anyway, noting a few familiar faces. Hanako had been in the same compartment on the Hogwarts Express, but that was as far as that connection went. Dee she recognized, but they hadn't actually ever held a conversation. The others she didn't recognize, but her eyes snagged on another, very short person...

Fucking. Hell.

Suddenly, violence seemed very appealing. There was no way, no fucking way in hell that she had been put in the same group - out of all the groups she could've been put in - as him. Clark. The idiotic, insipid little boy who looked like he shouldn't even be in Hogwarts. The blonde had already sent him flying into the lake with a Flipendo. She wasn't opposed to doing the exact same, right now, but sending him flying into the wall instead. Or lighting him on fire with an Incendio. Or both. Her hand itched for her wand, but she wasn't daft, she couldn't do that or else she would get into 'trouble'. "What the fuck are you doing here?" She said through gritted teeth, words directed at Clark, "Am I in the right group? Please tell me this isn't group 4. I'd rather die."

It was a throwaway statement. She knew damn well this was her correct group, so she flung herself into one of the empty armchairs that was the farthest away from that little brat as possible. Out of sight, out of mind as they say. "So, I'm late. Someone catch me up to speed, anyone died yet? Any threats? Any of you against half-breeds? Personally, I don't really care what you are. Everyone sucks anyway, human or werewolf or whatever you are. I'm all for equality, it's cool," she reached over to the table and grabbed a chocolate frog after speaking. Eating it as she listened to whatever conversation was going on, and very pointedly ignoring Clark. If he even tried to speak to her, she would more than likely hurt him. And she was doing her very best to restrain herself.

"Wh-" she started as the Slytherin boy approached their group with a snake slithering behind him. He started to call them brats, but thankfully stopped and instead said- KIDDOS??? "Kiddos?" She asked skeptically.
Who was this boy and why did he assume that they were supposed to be on fire? Huh. And here she was, thinking that the errand would be boring just a few moments ago. Clearly not.
Guinevere watched as the boy's snake slithered up to both firstie boys, and stop to stare at them. Admiration or menace, she didn't know, but when it approached her, it simply looked up and down and slithered back to one of the boys. Wh- Did a literal snake just reject her?? Apparently so, she decided.
"Fun," she muttered under her breath. She wondered where everyone else was. It would be a torturous day if she was to spend the time with two young people she definitely could not socialize with and a concerning upperclassman with a snake.
Thankfully, soon after, an older Ravenclaw around the boy's age arrived, introducing herself as Dee and the other boy as Hanako. At Dee's question, she had to think a bit.
"I don't know why I'm here, really," she admitted. "I mean, I do, but I just signed up for the fun of it." Listening to one of the younger boys stutter out a reply, she nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Just curious."
After this, another participant walked over to their quickly-forming group, introducing himself as Hades Schwei-something, a surname that Guinevere didn't trust herself to pronounce properly. "I'm Guinevere," she replied to the older boy when he asked for her name. "Guinevere Russetwood."
At his question, she looked over at Dee, who seemed to be most in charge. More people started talking and Guinevere faded back, watching with interest, only giving one of the boys a questioning stare when he spoke something is a foreign language at her greeting, and frowning even more when he noticed Hana's snake and screamed multiple times.
"What did you just say to me, kid?" She asked suspiciously. "Gods, can you just talk like a normal person? And I don't know you, but don't scream unless you want your ass thrown off the roof." any normal person with sense would know that Guinevere was pissed. What kind of idiot just randomly shouted and didn't even provide a translation for his native tounge? She was itching to know what Clark had remarked at her. And she became even pissed when yet another girl arrived, bringing the long awaited swearing to break the camel's back. What a fun day it was going to be!
After directing a flat "Hello. What is your name?" at the Ravenclaw girl who looked around the same age as her, she sat back and waited to see how events would unfold.

Ah, hm, yes, maybe Hana had a point, and Cu Sith did warrant a warning. Not in the she's dangerous and going to eat you kind of way, of course. Dee snorted, then gave Hana's pet snake a little wave. "I'll win her over some day," she promised cheerfully. So what if Cu Sith had apparently decided Dee wasn't cute enough or something upon first glance. Surely, she'd be able to charm a snake if she set her mind to it.

The younger Ravenclaw, who introduced himself as Edward, seemed less excited about the snake's continuing attention, which Dee couldn't really blame him for. It was Hades, however, who seemed to tip Hana's mood. "Uh, yes, she is fine," Dealla replied to the Hufflepuff, a little taken aback by the clarification. She had friends who went by different pronouns, but hadn't ever been asked about her own. Not that she was hesitant to inform anyone if she didn't agree with what they were calling her.

Curiosity was given as the reason for attendance more than once, and Dee nodded. Curiosity was good, it was her motivation for very many things. Curiosity was half of what she'd bet on to get people to attend this event. She could work with curiosity.

Hana, on the other hand, started toying with both Edward and Hades, picking apart their words, and Dee sighed. "Hanaaa," she requested, her words drawn out. "Please be nice? Maybe actually explain why I asked you to come here? That might clear some things up, you know. You did agree to it."

She gave both of the other boys a bright smile. "Don't worry, Cu Sith just decided she likes Edward. She also decided she doesn't like me, which I think is pretty rude. Don't be scared, she's not even venomous." A small pause, and a glance at Hanako for confirmation. "I think."

Edward still seemed reasonably calm, however, especially in contrast to Clark's reaction. Dee blinked, twisting her head to look behind her to where the short Hufflepuff had apparently deemed was safest. "Clark, I don't speak Gobbledegook," she reminded him, raising her eyebrows, a sliver of amusement in her voice. She couldn't even blame Guinevere for her reaction. Well, maybe a little. At least he proceeded to properly introduce himself, including his heritage, which might help get this meeting a little back on track... or so she thought.

Instead, Adelaide rolled up to them like a stormcloud, and Dee blinked, curious, as the Ravenclaw started growling at Clark. Oh. Huh. She hadn't known the two knew each other. "Welcome, so happy to have you," Dee greeted her blithely. "No deaths yet, everyone's getting along just swimmingly." Her gaze sharpened a little. While she was still relaxed, she had no intention of letting this meeting explode into chaos. "Let's keep it that way, yeah? Happy to hear that you are excited about equality." The edge in her voice melted into a cheerful grin, and she turned back to the rest of the group. "Everyone, meet Adelaide, one of my lovely juniors on the Ravenclaw duelling team. She's not always like this. Probably." Not that she knew the girl well, but no one was always like this, were they?

He growled, furious at the flipendoing girl that ruined his life- and taught him he couldn't swim. "ADDIE! (@Adelaide Barlowe) What the hell! YOU FLIPENDO'D ME INTO THE LAKE LAST TIME! I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING! And don't. Start. A. War. You. Can't. Win. I will do my hardest to get revenge. After all, who doesn't love dragon dung." He said, with intermission between the words.

"The girl here will save me!" He knew that it was highly unlikely that Dee- a former prefect talked via dm and agreed that Clark heard about it via Rumors.- would give a rats ass about Clark- but if any rulebreaking were performed- he hoped Addie would get detention- in some way, shape, or form- even if Dee wasn't a prefect anymore. After all, he felt she, Ade, deserved it.

He shot a glare at the girl (@Guinevere Russetwood). "Are you- saying I can't speak english? For your information that was 'GOBBLEDYGOOK'- the language- of my heritage. Oh and don't scream?" Clark was offended, approached with two bloody idiots- one he hated more than the other.

He took a step towards Gwen and inhaled, before letting out a bloodcurdling scream- hoping it helped to make her ears ring.

He wanted to reply back with a 'Don't disrespect my heritage. That's my family you're talking about.' But refrained from doing so.

"I don't care about your duelling team if Addie is on it. Addie tried to drown me last November!" Clark replied back nastily to the girl near him. (@Dealla Prince) He was being rude, and it needed to stop. Mentally, Clark tried to calm himself down, and closed his eyes to do so.

She reached out a hand to push Clark away, but not before he released a high-pitched girly scream. Internally, her ears were ringing, but she didn't show it on her face, and instead arched an eyebrow.
"Really? That's the best you can do? You sound like a crying little girl!" she laughed, surprised at herself when the forced sound came out stronger than she had expected. "For your information, we don't speak gooblygook or whatever. Either you tell me what you said just now, or I'll go down to the library to see for myself. And if that happens, you should check your breakfast tomorrow before you eat it." This boy needed to know that he did not, by all means, mess with her. Unprovoked, as well! All she did was say hi and he was starting to most likely curse her soul in googleblook! Or whatever it was!
Turning back to the conversaation, she caught a few words that were being said.
Adelaide. Ravenclaw duelling team. That was a name she could remember, especially if she were to duel agaist her someday, and with an acknowledging nod to her, she turned to the goblin boy.
"And I'll drown you again this November if you continue being such an asshole," she swore. She probably shouldn't be swearing, with so many upperclassmen around, but she had already had quite her share of heated arguments and drama this month, thank you very much.

Why in Merlin did Clark think he deserved to refer to Adelaide by a nickname? Only her friends called her 'Addie' (a surprise she had any, really), everyone else referred to her as Adelaide. "Call me 'Addie' again and you won't like what happens. It's Adelaide to you." She rolled her eyes when he claimed that he 'didn't do anything wrong'. As if she would just Flipendo someone into the lake unprovoked, obviously he had done something to warrant it. Thrown her books into the lake, to be exact. But she didn't need to relive that day right now. A mirthless chuckle left her at the short boy's poor attempt at a threat, "Oh, please. I think I would be very capable of winning a war. Especially against you," she put emphasis on the last word, looking him up and down judgmentally.

From the very little Adelaide knew of Dee, she liked the girl. Or at least tolerated her. She was a former Ravenclaw Prefect, after all. That was a green flag in Adelaide's eyes. But she still couldn't help but send a tight-lipped smile towards the older girl, "Always like what?" She asked innocently (Dee would probably be disappointed to know that most days Adelaide was, in fact, always like this), "I'm acting perfectly civilized towards other perfectly civilized individuals. All I'm here for is a nice, lovely talk about half-breeds and equality and all of that. Not my fault some people can't act like normal people," it was a very obvious jab towards Clark, who had apparently thought it was perfectly normal to scream in the face of the Slytherin girl. He was so fucking weird. Adelaide didn't even bother reacting to it, she was done with him. If he kept on being annoying, she would not be held responsible for her actions.

If only everyone could just collectively agree to throw Clark out of the room. A tiny smirk made its way onto her face at the Slytherin girl's remark towards Clark. "I agree, you should," she nodded solemnly, "what's your name?" She couldn't recall if it had already been said during the brief time she was here. "And Clark, no one really gives a fuck," the smile she sent his way was sharp and unnerving, "let's move on, shall we? Get this conversation back on track to what it's actually meant to be about."

Honestly, her fucking luck that she would be put in a group with Clark, who seemed incapable of holding a civilized conversation or acting like a normal fucking person. But she could still make the most out of this gathering, at least try to make it a valuable use of her time when she could be doing something more productive. Maybe she would, after all, learn something new. Doubtful, but one could hope.
