"Or perhaps in Slytherin,
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folk use any means,
To achieve their ends."
—The Sorting Hat

The Great Hall is a large room with four long tables where students of each House sit during the day and at mealtimes. A majestic enchanted ceiling that mirrors the outside weather is watching over people in the room.

Four long tables for the four houses. Closest to the doors from the Entrance Hall is Slytherin's. At this table sit the students from the Noble House, where they can discuss about their next mischief around the finest meals.

Res had heard her seatmate's introduction, and had learned her name to be Alexx Helm. She was still a little bit anxious about this school year, so she wasn't going to let this opportunity of making acquaintances go to waste. However, before she had the chance to speak up, another Slytherin student had been added to their table after he was declared by the Sorting Hat to fit in the Slytherin House; he sat beside Alexx.

Since Res responded too late to Alexx, the boy beside her stole Alexx' attention, and Res was left feeling slightly uncomfortable that she could hear their discussion; she didn't want to eavesdrop, but her ears were picking up on their words. Her eyes were going on about, unsure whether to keep her eyes straight ahead or make eye contact with her seatmates so she can make herself open for a conversation. On the corner of her eye, she glanced at Alexx and found her to be an approachable person, judging by how she conversed with her other seatmate.

Alexx and the boy were still discussing, and since the two were now sharing interests with each other, Res mentally shrugged her shoulders and decided to just try again if silence befalls the two.

Lorelei Sighed as she entered the great hall In the schools uniform. Unlike most of the girls she wore the boys uniform pants, And a simple white dress shirt with a green tie. and hanging from her shoulder was a black and green cloak representing her house. Her posture as she walked in seemed rather arrogant and prideful, however inside she was dying. she had yet to make any friends and all she ever did was make enemies. She was usually taunting the other students, But she didn't know how else to interact with people. There had been a fair share of pure bloods That had it out for her. She would rather be cold than insulted. Her blue eyes searched The table for a suitable place to sit. Everyone seemed to already be chatting. She fiddled with the hood of her cloak and sheepishly sat down between two students. She recognized them but hardly even knew their names. Lorelei grabbed some of the food from the center of the table and ate hungrily. Never did she eat anything so good. Her parents made great steak but even this was beyond their capabilities. She took another bite and looked to the surrounding students. should she talk to them? What could go wrong?

Josh then walks in hoping to see what new adventures lie ahead. Over at the Gryffindor table, he see's his older siblings talking with their Mudblood friends. They instantly saw me and shook their heads. I ignore them and went over to the Slytherin table and saw a young girl sitting there all alone. Wow just look at her! Sitting there all alone. How pathetic! But then again, I haven't many friends either. Josh moved forward and saw her devour her food ravenously. She looked as if she was really enjoying herself while she was scarfing down all of that delicious food.

"Pretty hungry there eh?" Josh exclaimed as he sat down next to her and started gathering his food.

Josh never understood how a house as proud as Slytherin would also have students that were very lonely. However, Josh knew what it was truly like to be lonely. He was lonely his entire life as his Blood Traitor siblings hung out with his Mudblood friends all throughout summer. Perhaps that girl is not Mudblood. Who knows? However, one thing is certain. If that girl was indeed a Mudblood, not only will he be disgusted to talk to her, but also embarrassed that this animal had tainted Slytherin house for good!

Lorelei turned to the Dark haired male who seemed to be the only one standing. She rolled her eyes and continued to scarf down on her food. This was certainly something she could get used to. She looked up once again, and what she did not expect was for the young male to approach her. Upon closer inspection, she began to recognize the males frame and how he held himself. She sneered at him. "Not another pureblood" She murmured to herself. She gave the male a hostile glance. What could he possibly want? Was it to torture her with insults? To humiliate her? Or was he unaware of her social standing? Surely He was only coming to spite her like all the others. Lorelei was more than ready to snap should he begin to snap at her with insults. " Is there a problem with that" she scowled. Worse case scenario she could set his pants on fire and bolt out of the great hall. That plan was full proof! Ok, perhaps not but it was a better option than allowing him to insult her. Perhaps letting him know her ability with spells were superior would allow him to leave her alone. It was odd. Potions were her weak spot yet she excelled in flying class as well as charms. "Joshua Altman... pureblood" she stated as if reading from a list. her Irish accent filling the void around her. " am I correct?" she asked with a sour note in her voice.

Josh, surprised at her reaction, gave her a defensive glare. Wow! I was trying to be nice and strike a conversation and this is what I get? The nerve of her speaking to me that way! I swear if she's a Mudblood, I will personally make her regret the day she met me!

"So what if I am?" Josh sneered. "If you hate Pure-Bloods, then the Sorting Hat definitely put you in the wrong House that's for sure!"

Just by her reaction, Josh figured that she was indeed a Mudblood, but he needed to be sure about that possibility. He couldn't help but wonder why a Slytherin would ever hate Pure-Bloods? It was dream of Salazar Slytherin himself that Hogwarts would be a Pure-Blood only school. Should Slytherin be alive today, not only would he be outraged at the mere sight of having a Mudblood into his house, but he would also do whatever he could to dispose of the taint in his own house. The girl already knew Josh's name. This isn't good. However, Josh did remember the list of the new First-Year Slytherins that he was given when he first arrived at the Common Room. Perhaps that would be the key to know who she is.

"Lorelei Arden eh?" Josh asked condescendingly as he sees her take a defensive stance. "You're lucky I was in a good mood. Try pulling that stunt again and you will regret it dearly."

Josh got up and left. In fact, you already will... In his robe pocket was Lorelei's wand that he had secretly snatched from her while they were busy talking. All the "wand borrowing" he did to his siblings had paid off. Not trying to stop, Josh went on.

"Oh by the way, you just played yourself, you filthy little Mudblood! Slytherin himself would be ashamed of having you here!"

Josh walked out feeling proud of himself.

" your wrong" She scoffed. " The sorting hat put me in here because I have Ambitions and I can act on them" She spat getting up from her seat to glare at the male " I am In the right house whether you like it or not" She spoke sourly. How he sent her blood boiling. The nerve on him was enough for her to choke him. " Oh I'm sorry Your Highness I keep forgetting your behind on the times" she gasped mockingly " I'm soo happy to be in your good graces, What can I ever do to be of service!" She spat sarcastically " Your the one who makes me sick." she growled Grabbing his wrist " Also I would be careful with that wand of mine. One move to break it and I will do the same to yours" She replied coldly. " I don't care about some dead founder of Slytherin, The fact that you follow his footsteps is proof alone your weak. Maybe that's why You don't talk to anyone." She sneered " The truth is Salthazar was outnumbered even then. Doesn't that say something about pure-bloods pointless escapades. You seek recognition so instead, you tear mud-bloods down" she spat " But the truth is what you call mud-bloods, are just as smart, powerful And worthy as you ar, maybe not worthy, Your beneath them" She sighed with an arrogant smirk. " Now run along" she mocked shooing him away

Josh suddenly stopped. Did I just hear that right? Wow! She can come up with all that rubbish on the fly that's for sure. That foolish Mudblood made herself look more like an idiot than she already was. Josh turned around and slowly returned.

"I must say, I'm surprised to say the least that you would know the term Mudblood let alone use it yourself." Josh mocked. "What's wrong Arden? Too proud to admit how stupid you sounded just now?"

Without waiting for an answer Josh continued on. "Oh that's alright. Perhaps you could get a head start on Muggle Studies. I bet you know all about those primitive animals since you lived with them in their wretched world."

Josh stood in front of her as he pulled out her wand. "Oh that's right... You want this back don't you?" Josh mocked again. "The fact that you could even use one of these boggles my mind." Josh shoved the wand into her face. "Be grateful I'm not destroying it right in front of you, Arden."

He started to walk away again towards the big doors when he said. "I know you're thinking about casting curses at me, but it won't work. Not only will you get them all wrong, even if you do pull one off, I know the counter-curse to undo them. See you never, Mudblood!"

Josh walked out the door hoping that she would no longer be a nuisance to him.

Tedrick confidently walked to the Slytherin Table, absolutely glowing with happiness; he had been sorted into the house that he'd always wished to be in. As he actually reached the students, however, Tedrick's suddenly realized a terrible thought. I don't know anybody here... The blood drained from his face as all the confidence he had shriveled up and died in his chest and Tedrick found himself wishing that he had snuck Mop onto the train. If only the stray hadn't barked as Tedrick was trying to hide him in the back seat of Uncle Vincent's car.

He was pulled out of his thoughts by a commotion; Tedrick glanced over and saw two students, a male and a female, arguing. The argument escalated to the point where the boy actually drew his wand and waved it around the girl's face in an attempt at... intimidation? Tedrick wasn't exactly sure what was going on but he felt even less confident than before. Surely not every Slytherin was so violent and rude? Well, I certainly know what I'm not going to do! With a small sigh and a second to gather whatever was left of his courage (which, coincidentally, wasn't one of his strongest traits since the Sorting Hat never even considered Gryffindor for him), Tedrick found an empty seat and sat down. Okay, I can do this! I'll just mentally rehearse what I'll say... Tedrick had no idea who he had chosen to sit next to, but he was going to attempt at a conversation anyway. Best case scenario, Tedrick would have a new friend! Worst case scenario, he'd be completely ignored and left to an awkward silence.

"Hey, how's it going? I'm Ledrick, Ledrick Tee!" Tedrick said, a big smile forced to cover up his anxiousness... before he realized his mistake. "I... I've done it again, haven't I? ...Sorry." Tedrick pursed his lips and looked away in embarrassment before putting on a brave face. "I, uh, I'm Tedrick Lee."

Skye ran over to the Slytherin Table, and sat down, for the first time in her life. Skye was nervous, but she was hoping she would get Slytherin. Skye smiled as she saw a boy next to her, he had just got sorted, and seeing previous sorting's around her. Skye thought she made her parents proud enough. Skye thought this is my home, this is where I belong. Skye turned over to the boy next to her and said "Hello, my name is Skye Cha-Cha-Chambers Crap she thought I stumbled on my own name again but "who are you she asked?" "I just got sorted, I see you did as well?" Skye was just happy that the hat choose Slytherin over Gryffindor but she wouldn't judge the hat. But Skye began to be quite so she can hear her former classmates being placed, and others around her. Afterwards they got to feast, and feast Skye did with her pupils that she may later call friends. Skye chatted some more with the people around her, she knew that one day maybe they would become friends, that's why Skye is here to make friends mostly, since she didn't have many anyways. Skye is ready for new friends, new adventures and new experiences.

It's not much, but it's home
