Charlotte boarded the train, holding her breath. This was it. She was going to Hogwarts. She glanced back and saw her mother, who was still smiling, waving at her. No one else from her family had come to see her off, no one knew. She had learned only a little over a year prior that her mother was hiding a huge secret, from everyone. Her mother was a witch and could do magic. Her father didn't know, her twin siblings didn't know, and even she hadn't known until the day that she first accidentally used her magic. She was just helping her mother with the garden when she made a shovel float. After she managed to get it to stop, her mother explained everything. Charlotte was a witch. After her mother had met her father, a muggle, she turned her back on the wizarding world. But now, she was coming back, to help her daughter, a witch, to get the proper education. To go to Hogwarts. To everyone else, she was just going to a fancy far away bording school. She wasn't even able to tell her best friends, which she only had two of, where she was going. One of her friends had turned her back on her, sayign she was rich, snotty, and thought everyone was beneth her for going to a bording school. The other, well she supported Charlotte. But Charlotte knew she would likely get other friendships, and move on. So now she was stuck. For the third time in her life, she had to restart. Make new friends. Which was already a challange for her, because of her personality. She found a seat, and sat down, sighing. How was she going to do this?

Donnie said his final goodbyes to his parents, turning his back to board. He felt nervous, aware that he wouldn't see his family for quite a while. He looked around, slightly anxious about the crowds of others. It just felt so cramped. He started to traverse the train, trying to find a more quiet area. As he walked, he looked around the train, hoping focusing on that would soothe him. He observed the colors and the designs of his surroundings. To be honest, he hadn't been on a train before, but he didn't really enjoy being in such busy places. He spotted an empty seat. Besides the seat was young, blonde haired girl. She had a blue headband that matched with her blue glasses. She seemed to be deep in thought, not even noticing him. He wondered if she was alright, but he didn't know if he should bother her. He decided that this place would be better than the crowded areas, and he could really use a friend -- or at least an acquaintance -- during his stay. He took a deep breath and approached her. He looked at her, then the seat. "Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?" He quietly asked, signaling towards the seat beside her.

Charlotte looked up, seeing the boy, around her age. This was her chance to talk to someone, and maybe make a new friend. But the betrayal that happened only a few months before played over and over in her mind. What if she made friends with this boy, only to be betrayed by him months later? Could she trust him? She bit her lip, contemplating, considering her every option. He looked nice enough. "I...I guess so...." she said, trying to hide the nervousness in her voice. "Who are you? I mean... what's your name? How much do you know about Hogwarts?" she asked, wanting to know a little bit more about the boy that she was going to face her first ride to Hogwarts with. It was going to be long ride, so she hope this boy was as nice as he looked, and wasn't some jerk. 'A jerk like Jaden was,' a small voice in her head said. She shook the thought off. This boy wasn't Jaden. He know why she was here. She didn't have to keep secrets from him. So she tried to shake the feeling that everyone was going to betray her. This boy wouldn't do that... would he?

"Thank you." Donnie sat down in the garnet-colored seat next to her. The seat was actually quite comfortable. Despite asking to sit by her, he slightly moved away, making room between the two. He looked over at her. "My name is Donnie," He replied, making an attempt to hide his nervous tone. He slightly shifted in the cushioned seat, did he make the wrong choice by sitting here? Why was she asking so many questions? Did he do something? Well, she clearly seemed upset, what if he was making it worse? No -- he wasn't going to ruin his first interaction at Hogwarts. Maybe that's just her way of making friends? He wasn't sure, but he tried not to think about it. He always tried his best to keep a positive mindset, despite certain situations. He smiled at her and asked, "What's your name?" Perhaps he could ease this tense conversation. He genuinely wondered what her name was. He thought she was pretty -- not in a weird way though, just as a compliment. Especially her headband, he thought the little star on it was cool. The yellow matched her hair, and it contrasted well with the blue. He snapped himself out of his train of thought before he got too distracted. He fidgeted with his hands as he waited for an answer.

She watched him, her gaze studying him. "I'm Charlotte. Charlotte Melody Flamesong," she said, not revealing a hint of emotion on her otherwise cold face. She glanced out the window of the train, urging the train on in her mind. The less time she spent with Donnie, who she otherwise, didn't know a bit about, the better. One less person to double-cross her when she needed friendship the most. She sighed. "So Donnie. Did you have any wizarding blood in you? Or are you one of those lucky muggles? Or was your mother like mine, and refused to tell any of her family that she could do magic until you accidentally did magic, then you find out there is this whole world that she knew all about and has been lying to yours and your family's faces your whole life. Then you get to also take part in the secrets and the lying, but this also extends to your only two best friends, where one then ends your friendship all because you can't tell her where you are going to school!" she said, obviously just stating her mind now. She wasn't expecting anyone to go through what she was going through. She just needed to let her rage at everyone out.

He looked at her, eyes wide. He believed, most likely, that she had just revealed what made her seem so upset earlier. "I...um..." He paused to think, anxiously trying to choose the right words so he wouldn't upset her more. "I'm really sorry about that, that was probably really upsetting to deal with." Despite not really knowing much of what she was speaking about, he still felt bad for her. No one deserves that. At least she had other friends, right? He wasn't sure, for he barely knew her. Donnie wondered if perhaps she needed a friend now? He could fill that role, and then maybe she wouldn't be so upset. It was worth a try, at least. He started to calm down. "Would you like to talk about it, Charlotte?" He asked with sincerity, thinking of ways to comfort Charlotte. If he knew more, maybe he would understand her better. Donnie could barely stand seeing people so upset, so he usually tried his hardest to help them. There were times when there was nothing that he could do, and he still had some trouble coming to terms with that. He tried to not think about that right now, though, for it wasn't important.

She shook her head, remaining silent. "No.... I don't know you enough..... I can't trust you." she said, before glancing out the window. The train then lurched forward, signaling the train ride was beginning. This was it. They were now on there way to Hogwarts. The school that was going to teach them magic, the school that would be their home for the next semester, for some, the whole school year. Charlotte was honestly terrified, and also felt incredibly alone. What if she couldn't make friends? What if everyone hated her? Or worse, what if everyone acted like her friend, but turned her back when she needed it most? She sighed, deciding to attempt to make small talk with Donnie. "So... what house do you think you'll be in? I honestly don't know what to expect... My mother was a Slytherin though... so if I get that house that would make since. I don't know too much about Hogwarts, because my mother kept everything a secret. All I know is that there are four houses, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin, and Gryiffendor, and that my mother was in Slytherin, which is a house for kids with great ambition. But I don't want to be like my mother.... I don't want to lie to everyone I love."
