Two Badgers circled a lone Raven, would they be able to ruffle a few feathers? While the odds were against him, Pericles was an experienced duelist - this was surely not the first dire situation he’d been in. Maybe he had a trick or two.

Lindsey and Lucia would set in upon the sole target for their attention. Lindsey with a classic flipendo, and Lucia with an obscuro. Damage or disable, a similar tactic to their first round, but one that had an upside no matter what happened. While neither spell was especially impressive, they were aimed right on target.

And what does a smart duelist do when they know they’ll become the sole focus of their opponents attention? Protego. Pericles was ready for them, a shimmering field of magic spread out to protect the boy. The blindfold would impact first, redirected with ease right back at the badgers partner. Darkness would take envelop Lindsey just as her flipendo crashed into the magical bubble. She would only be able to hear the sound of the protego cracking and letting the ball of magic through. An impressive feat due to its rarity. Whether it was surprise or trained aim, Pericles would not escape the sudden magic.

As magic soared over head, Samantha was left to helplessly struggle. It was normally a quite sad sight, watching a duelist struggle to break free of magical paralysis - duelists tended to be rather underdeveloped in the physical strength department. But not today. Samantha would lay still as magic flew across the piste, and then regain control of her muscles and pick herself up.

What started in the Badgers favor ended in a much more even standing then Galton had expected. An exhilarating turn of evens. Galton would have been out of his chair cheering if he wasn’t already standing (and impartial for the duel). Would the Ravens be able to capitalize on the Blinded Badger’s misfortune?!

This duel would mark Peri's first time utilizing Protego outside of practice, and it would play out with both the best and worst results. His silvery eyes had flitted between their opponents, bracing to be targeted. As soon as their wands began to trace spell movements, he barked an incantation, crouching behind the translucent shield. A blindfold bounced off and wrapped snuggly around one Hufflepuff's face. But the barrier was left rippling in its wake, just unsteady enough for the second spell to break through, hitting him like a suckerpunch to the jaw. The Ravenclaw reeled, maintaining his footing out of muscle memory: Flipendos got easier to tolerate with exposure, though that didn't exactly mean they felt like butterfly kisses, either. Regaining his stance, Pericles glanced over in time to see Sam doing the same. He spared a quick, proud smile. "Is your head alright?"

Luckily, Samantha was able to redeem herself fast. In the time she was struggling to break free, the other duellists had only been able to cast 1 spell. When the young girl finally joined the duel she took a quick look around to see what had happened while she was out. As soon as she noticed the blindfold covering Lindsey's eyes, a grin appeared on her face. Pericles' protego seemed to have worked quite well. "Good job!" she told her partner.

The quick smile Peri gave her, made the young girl's own smile grow even bigger. "I'm okay," she replied quickly. Placing her hand on her head, she checked the damage. Her head did hurt, but not nearly as much as it would hurt if she had been hit by a flipendo.

Lindsey groaned when seeing Pericles drawing a shield charm, but still steadily shot a Flipendo at the Ravenclaw. And the next second her eyes were wrapped with a black fabric - which she certainly loathed - and fell into endless darkness. That had been Lucia’s gift for Pericles, she had heard her partner’s incantation and even caught a glimpse of it, but she was slow to dodge. Lindsey sighed. She had never thought about it, Pericles’ shield strong enough to bounce the spell off. “It’s okay.” She assured Lucia. “We can do it.”

[Quote]"Obscuro!" Lucia called, directing her spell at the only opponent currently standing. But a shimmering barricade suddenly appeared in front of the Ravenclaw, and Lucia groaned. All she could do was watch, fingers crossed as her spell hurtled across the piste... and bounced off the shield. Heading straight to- "Lindsey!" Even as Lindsey's own spell sped through the shield and crashed into Percules (that was his name, right? Like Hercules, but with a P?) Lucia's blindfold smacked onto her partner's face. "Merlin, I'm sorry." With Lindsey's assurances, though, Lucia reminded herself that she couldn't have foreseen the use of protego. She was a part-Veela, not a seer.

The tide had turned! Or maybe it was the winds?! Whatever natural phenomena it was - it had shifted. The Ravens were now the ones praying on a weakened Badger. But this Badger was not alone. There would be retaliation.

Lindsey would try to rip the infernal blindfold from her face as fast as possible. Pericles and Samantha would take aim and cast, fully intending on using her blindness to its fullest. While Samantha cooked up a fiery Incedio Duo, Pericles made for redemption with another spread Ventus. He would find that redemption - in a near prestine burst of hurricane wind that shot forward at the Badgers.

Unfortunately for Lindsey, the blindfold would not come off in time. Wind and Fire would meet the duelist and welcome her into their warm and windy embrace. But at least she would be able to see the magic's aftermath.

Lucia would not befall such a torrential fate though. She would sidestep the wind with ease, and shoot her own Ventus over the piste. It made Galton's heart throb to see so many duelists use his beloved spell. Samantha would be hit with the full brunt of magic. Wind whipping around her, she was locked into the spell's vortex.

Galton had not imagined such an even matching. The Duos made precise and exact moves, constantly shifting the advantage. Galton wasn't even sure who had said advantage now. The metaphorical chair he had been sitting on was now under his feet as he stood and cheered atop it. Metaphorically, of course. In actuallity, from his piste-side position he'd had his hair blown about, just like his excitement. How long could they stay neck and neck like this?!

If there was a “what’s your least favourite spell” list for duellists to fill out, Lindsey knew she would fill Obscuro in without any hesitation. Falling into eternal darkness wasn’t something fun, her other senses were far from being strong enough to not rely the eyesight. Lindsey winced behind the blindfold when the spells hit her. First a gust of wind, and then on fire - gah, it’s so difficult to evade spells without being able to see them coming along. So as soon as she had the chance Lindsey tore the fabric off and tossed it aside, while gripping her wand hard. Chocolate brown eyes gazed at the two Ravenclaws. Time to revenge.

Good job!
"You too!" Peri called back quickly with a good-natured grin. One of his spells had hit, so had Sam's. She was blown by a rogue Ventus, but she could take it, she was an exceedingly resilient third-year. His next move was calculated with a tense glance between both opponents, weighing what tactic to play next. There was ample time to turn things in their favor.

Some fire seemed very fitting for this duel. Hufflepuff had always had an interesting relationship with fire and Samantha probably didn't improve it when she aimed her wand at Lindsey. A little smile appeared on Samantha's face when the badger was also hit with a wind-fire combo. This was so much fun! However, when the young girl herself was hit by ventus, the smile quickly faded from her face. Stupid winds!

Lindsey was, predictably, the main target this round. Although Lucia managed to dodge the gust of wind that came her way, poor Lindsey had to deal with not only the effects of Ventus, but also a jet of fire which came from the youngest duellist on the piste. At least Lucia's own spell hit.
