The Feeling of Being Back Closed

Although Alexx has indeed enjoyed her summer, being that she stayed at Hogwarts (anyone who knew her knew why), and had reread The Martian a million times because she just couldn't get enough of it, she was less enthusiastic about finding a place to sit. As a second year, she felt as though she had more time to really figure this out- the way the Great Hall worked. Yes her friends were nowhere in site (and if they wished to appear, by all means, they were more than welcome to sit with her, as she could use the company).

Originally, Alexx had planned to spend the summer making friends, but that plan went as far south as it possibly could. She had disregarded the fact that she is socially awkward, hard to talk to, and too shy to really interact with people the way she longed to. However, she still had a handful of friends, despite never really communicating with them much.

Yet her first year had brought more than she planned, and she hoped her second year would not disappoint. No, she hadn't expected to get decked in the face, that was always a surprise, but it was a good life experience, she thought. A close friend from back home once informed her that she resembled Steve Rogers, both physically and in her attitude. Small, but ready to kick some ass! She would break if you poked her too hard, sure, but would that stop her? Never! It was scary how the small, blonde bundle of determination carried about her ways.

Finding an empty and secluded seat, she plopped herself down and cracked open some science book that Mikey, her favorite older brother, had sent her to entertain her, thanks to The Martian, ever-growing wonder about space and stuff. She chuckled to herself about the thought of Mars actually becoming international waters, and briefly entertained the thought of being a legitimate space pirate. How fun would that be, smuggling government property across Mars or something!

These were the thoughts she spent the majority of camp contemplating as everyone else had made friends. Space Maritime Laws. Fun! However, not to many others, so she often didn't discuss it. Because honestly, what normal human being wanted to discuss this? It was no surprise that Barclay's class was her favorite for this mere reason. But why could she never seem to complete her school work, you ask? She was too busy pondering it rather than writing it down. But she could stress that later. Right now, she had a social catastrophe on her hands. Who was still going to be her friends this year, and who dropped her because she wasn't all the interesting? Oh, how she longed to know the answer to that.

chill babe. we're all bad in someone's story.
