A Letter Home and An Unpleasant Introduction
"Same here! I've been so indulged in seeing everything here that I completely forgot about sending my parents something to know I'm okay." Muriel exclaimed rather happily, glad that she wasn't the only one who'd gotten so distracted by Hogwarts. Perhaps forgetting about sending a letter to her parents didn't make her such an awful person after all."Yeah, I'm sending my first one home. I've been delaying. Hogwarts is just so captivating."
She got quiet suddenly as some very unpleasant words started up again, causing her to flinch momentarily at the harshness. To some, her reaction might've seemed a bit dramatic, but Muriel couldn't help it; she'd always been the sensitive type, even when the words or actions weren't even aimed towards her. She hated seeing people upset and wanted to try and mediate, but her soft nature always prevented her from ever saying anything.
Fortunately however, Aravis walked a bit away, causing Muriel to quietly exhale a breath she didn't realize she was holding. She watched subtly as the girl gave an owl first a treat and then a letter, and stared, captivated, as it flew with its pretty wings out of the Owlery. Deciding to copy her, she finally shoved the letter into its envelope and began rummaging through her robe pockets for an owl treat, only to find a biscuit instead.
Hoping that it would suffice, Muriel gave Becky a brief nod and smile before wandering up to the first owl she saw. "Okay Mister... or Miss... Owl... can you please deliver this letter to my parents for me?" She murmured to the owl as if it were a person, nudging over her incentive towards its feet. "They're not too far... just past the mountains and umm..." She paused, realizing she was unsure of the location relative to where she was. "It's this address, see?" She said instead, holding up the envelope to the owl's height, hoping it could somehow read and understand where it needed to go.
