Letters Home
Dear Mother and Father,
I hope work has been and will be treating you well while I am away from home for the year. But that is not much the point of my letter. After leaving I wondered around the platform and train a bit and I saw and heard so many things from so many different types of people. And some of them were Parselmouth's!!
I didn't do much but read and eat food from the trolly but I did look out at the hill side and felt a magical sense of adventure as you said I would dad. After the train ride we were told that we had to ride boats to get to the castle, the boats were magical, they moved and turned gracefully in the dark magically waters of the great lake. As I was floating along with the other first years I yet again felt that sense of magic in the air but here in that boat I felt it so strongly I was sure to lose my footing if I were standing mother! But it is like you said it would be.
The wait was a long one for the sorting ceremony but it didn't take to long for the hat to let me my house. The hat placed me in the great house of Slytherin!
The way to the common room was a little cold so I was glad to have that jacket (Thank you mother). But upon speaking the password to the door we walked in to be greeted by a dimly lit room with a large fireplace with its fire glowing green, black wooden chandeliers with a candle for every student.
Around the room were large staircases that lead to the dorms more on that later! The common room has a wizards chessboard and long and small plush couches and armchairs. Paintings that have small talk if you want to listen. And tables with plush seated chairs in one part of the room that I plan to do homework at very soon.
And lastly my dorm, there isn't much going on in there right now its only the first day but I stay in the gender-neutral dorms! I thought that was just so cool! But that's about all for my letter. I love you guys dearly.
