Aurora was the kind of person that you could talk to. Easily talk to. You could spill all your guts to her if there's something that you really want to talk about(or don't even), and Aurora would listen. Whenever her muggle friend really needed somebody to talk to, Aurora was always the one she would go to. And she would listen. And after that, her friend felt so much better that she almost forgets what's been bothering her. With a very busy mother and an aunt who was not only overprotective but also frenzied and hectic, not to mention 3 cousins who were under this same influence sometimes, everyone was in need of help and someone to talk to.
There were many examples of Aurora(unintentionally and without her knowledge)helping others feel more at ease with themselves. For example, her younger cousin Gwen, on her dad's side. To put it very simply, she was emotionally fragile. Very. The problem wasn't that she had a temper, which she was quite even-tempered if you asked anyone who knew her, but anxiety was the right word for it. When Aurora was almost nine, she was at a family reunion in a house near Wales. Gwen, who could get worked up about anything she put her mind to, was nowhere in sight until Aurora found her crouching under the stairs.
It took a minute to get Gwen to talk, but Gwen said that she didn't like all the noise and all the people and that she was scared. She refused to come out of her hiding spot until it was all over. Aurora just shook her head, at first not sure what to do at all, but then an idea came to mind. It was a little weird, but it was worth a shot. "Er...you wanna hear a story?" Gwen looked a little surprised but nodded. So Aurora told Gwen a story that she had heard when she was younger. In all honesty, it sounded like a fairytale, but Aurora thought that Gwen might like it.
It was a story that involved a friendly baby dragon, and how the dragon was lost and needed to find its way back home, having lots of adventures along the way. Even though it was admittedly a little unappealing at this point, Aurora still liked it, and she noticed that Gwen gradually began to calm down. She relaxed and didn't look so worked up and anxious any more. Her breathing became less panicky, and she looked noticeably calmer.
"I think I wanna come out," she said. "You do?" Aurora asked, both relieved and surprised. "Mm-hmm. I'm not scared anymore." Gwen thanked Aurora and crawled out of her hiding spot under the stairs. Aurora was very surprised at first, but decided to just go with it."What was I scared about again?" Gwen asked, looking a little confused. "Er..." Aurora decided it best not to tell her. She still doesn't know about her curious ability for helping others feel calmer, though maybe that's just her personality. Whatever it is, it seems that it'll be a while before she does find out about it.

I've made the necessary changes to my application.STATUS: Pending, Opeila 25/01
The beginning of your application is great, but in the end it reads as though Calming Presence is a superpower. It isn't. There is no reason why calming presence would make the kids confess something on the spot when they haven't before and there is also no reason that Aurora should be the only one who can calm her aunt.
Also please don't repost your application when you made edits. We see it, we may just not get to it immediately.

I have always been ahead of my classes in the muggle world. My third grade class was learning addition but I was learning multiplication. My fifth grade class was learning multiplication I started learning algebra. When I was about to go into middle school I received my acceptation letter into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I have never been so excited in my life. When I went to Diagon alley to buy my books all the charm books immediately caught my attention. The shop keeper told me all about how I was going to learn tons of spells in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I had never been so anxious and excited in whole life. Not even the time I was interviewed by a channel four news lady about my intelligence. The shop keeper had been so kind, it was the first time anybody actually made me feel good about my natural curiosity. That day in Flourish and Blots changed my whole mindset. I realized it is okay to want to crave knowledge. It was even welcomed by some people. I decided that from now on I would not be ashamed by my hunger for knowledge and I would obtain as much knowledge as possible. That night I stayed up all night reading my charms book under a flashlight. My parents wanted me to sleep since tomorrow would be my train ride from platform nine and three quarters, but I was way to excited. I was going to go learn how to preform magic!! The levitation spell caught my attention. Muggles had said that levitation was impossible but in my heart I knew it was. I just didn't know how to accomplish it. Several other charms were displayed on the stiff pages of my new book. Wow these all look amazing! I wish I could learn them all now but magic outside of school isn't allowed. Maybe I can convince the headmaster to let me learn charms ahead of my year? That would be amazing because I would be able to learn twice as many spells! I know deep down that I will finally be where I belong, where I am not a freak. I am filled with a sudden desire to learn as much as possible, but Mom is right so I put my book away and lay down. As I am falling asleep I decide that this year will be the best yet! Two months later Opal is at Hogwarts. She is one of the best students in her charms class. She works very hard to learn new spells and is very dedicated to her studies. Her peers say that she is smart and helpful!

describe why this talent fits my character:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This talent has been shamed by the magical community because of its past users, using it for evil and devilish actions. And it does not help the reputation of the talent that Lord Voldemort himself was graced with the gift, Parselmouth (Parseltongue).
Octavia has always been close with snakes so much so that when she was a young girl she was in her families gardens where she found a small garden snake. She talked and talked to the snake all day long before her parents noticed and scolded her for talking to snakes in the garden because someone could have saw her. At the time she didn't know that being a parselmouth was not normal and was seen in a negative light. But that never stopped her from talking to more snakes and helping them get to place to place if she had the time.
Her parents although amazed that she was gifted with this talent were scared at how she might be treated if other magical families found out about her gift. So to keep the young girl from doing it in public they scolded her with reminders in their head to correct this negative action when she was old enough to understand why they did it. They of course give congrats to their daughter over her new talent but they didn't speak the dead tongue so with a look at each other they went off to write a letter to Morgan's father.
But with Octavia no longer being very obvious about her gift her grandfather taught her more about the gift as he had been friends with one a long time ago. He didn't say much else about that... The family even had a family night where they sat around the family tree to see where this talent had come from. She found that on her mothers-side her grandmother was a Parselmouth!
Her mother said that she had never known as her mother had been an Auror and died not long after she was born. It was quiet for a bit on that bombshell. My mother never told me that but after we finished eating my parents wanted to get me a snake but my grandfather wanted to wait till my third year at Hogwarts.
As she got older she didn't go around speaking to any and every snake that she came across because she wanted to fit in with the other magical children and not have them recoil in fright or more common, confusion. But she dreams of freely talking about and in the dead language. Octavia knows that she is not the only Parselmouth her age but she doesn't even know how she would be able to tell if they were! It's not like they are going to have a club just for the students that speak a dead language !! But deep deep down she really did have hope that she would find more people with the gift so that she could have something so cool in common with a group of people.

Frost had never really experienced little accidents when he was a child. Never stumbled over rocks, never bumped into a lantern and only once got hurt when he fell of his broomstick. Just once. At that day, he was distracted as the hours before going outside to fly, he had read about a Quidditch match in the newspaper and his favourite team had lost an important match, making them drop in position, and, Frost had calculated, were almost unable to still become champion. This was a big deal for Frost and therefore he got distracted, he fell off his broom and scratched his ankle. It was very unpleasant as it was one of the only times he ever got hurt and it made the young boy realise he was very lucky to most often land on his feet.
His parents always suspected Frost to have inherited some seer genes via his dad. His dad's mother (Frost's grandmother), Leia Loops, was a powerful seer who had worked for the Ministry of Magic once. His father too had a tendency to avoid accidents just in time and never got into serious, ever. Frost apparently had inherited this as well. His parents had decided to not tell Frost anything about this, until he started having proper visions or graduated from school. They didn't want Frost to misinterpretate anything he could dream as he would grow older, as that could lead to some potentially dangerous situations.
Frost remembered only one particular instance he actively had a special feeling. It was a tingle of some sort, a little bit comparable to a reflex. A month ago, the family cat had disappeared and was nowhere to be found. His parents decided that the next they they would go to the menagerie to pick out a new one, but then the morning before they were supposed to go pick up a new kitten, Frost strongly felt a sense that it wouldn’t be required to go there anymore. He woke up around 7am and ran to his parents, telling them; "We shouldn't pick up a new kitten! It is useless and not necessary!" Frost was unable to surpress this weird feeling when he thought about going to the pet shop. He decided that if they weren’t going to go to the menagerie, he might as well try to lure their pet back to the house. And so he did. He grabbed the cat's favourite biscuits and tried to call it for a solid 15 minutes. When he was just about to give up, his feline friend appeared in the bush next to his home. Frost was mostly filled but intense joy, but also felt a hint of disbelief. Could he really have felt that his cat would come back, and therefore making the trip to the shop unnecessary? He remembers this instance untill this day, but often blames it on sheer luck and coincidence.
Even though Frost doesn't realise it, he has the potential to become a powerful seer; given that he uses his power correctly. The young wizard is quite skeptical and will probably take some time figuring out he is a seer. The sense for danger isn't really noticed by him, because he's used to it and doesn't notice that nobody else has this ability. Seeing as he also dyes his hair grey, and grey hair is the only physical manifestation of the talent, he won't have any way to really realise what's going on until his prophecies start and/or his parents will tell him.

1) You mentioned that he watched TV. In the wizarding world, magic does not work well with electronic devices. This is why everything is candle lit, there are no cellphones, TV or computers. Things that are basic and used (and expected to be used daily) would be incompatible with a magical household.
2) Children with the power of Sight experience brief flashes of intuition rather than full-fledged visions. So mentioning that he had a full dream is too much for a young child.

James is a charismatic person without trying to be. He's always been a charming kid, quick to make someone laugh, or argue his point so that people want to agree with him. He doesn't really remember when this started, but his mum told him that ever since he was little, he's been a bit distracting. Whether it was by being cute, or funny, James was always able to distract his mum from household duties. When he was about five years old, James would accidentally stop fellow wizards in the streets due to how cute he was while his mum or the house-elves watching him were shopping. They were able to get what they needed done, but sometimes it was more beneficial for James to stay at home and play.
However, James wasn't always the perfect golden child. Knowing that he could be cute and persuasive, he'd often use this to get things before he should. Not anything big, but he recalls with fondness shuffling up to one of the house-elves to ask for cookies. When she said no, James hung his head, stuck out his bottom lip, and stared at the girl with dejected eyes. Later, when his mum saw him in the living room munching on cookies, she had a long talk with the house-elves to resist James' charms as much as they can.
Nevertheless, James grew up, and graduated from using his cuteness for things like extra cookies and toys, to using a silver tongue to worm his way out of trouble. As he's rather energetic, he has been in a number of accidents, including breaking vases, accidentally turning over bookshelves, and the like. He felt bad when these things happened, but he also knew that he could get a lesser punishment if he apologized and promised to do chores to make up for it. Though, being cute also helped. He tended to bat his eyes while clasping his hands together and swaying from side to side. This still tends to work on his dad, but his mum has gotten used to his ways. Whenever he tries to work his way out of trouble with his mum, she narrows her eyes and gives him a plain "I'm onto you" look. That tends to stop him immediately.
While on platform 9 and 3/4s, James could feel eyes being drawn to him, and he couldn't help but grin, trying to catch the eye of anyone pretty staring at him. He can't wait for his first year of school where mischief will flourish- especially since he will try his best to worm his way out of any situation.

Additional note: there's possibly a fight brewing in this thread
Growing up in a mixed-blood household, Rhys was no stranger to the Muggle world. Seeing magic used by their father and older brothers, and a lack of magic from their mother very much defined Rhys's childhood as they grew up. Often, their father would be preoccupied with work cases, and so Rhys mostly saw their mum when she was able to be home.
Amélie Read loved her husband, and the magic that he and their children had in their veins, but she felt admittedly out of place at times. So, when it was just her, Rhys, and Rhylee (Rhys's younger sister) at home, three humans without any sort of mastery of the craft that was magic--for the time being, anyhow, Amélie preferred to go about things the way she always had, the way she'd been used to prior to meeting Sebastian Read.
So that meant that while Rhys's father was away at work, and their brothers away at Hogwarts, there was no clear presence of magic. Amélie would often take Rhys and Rhylee into Ely, just to show them the various goings-on that ran the town. They would observe as children played at the park, zooming about either on bikes, scooters, or just plain running. When Rhys was 8, Amélie surprised them with a bike of their own, and with some practice, they, too were free to go about wherever they pleased, as long as they kept in touch with Amélie via the cell phone she made them carry on them while they were out of the house. Additionally, Amélie Read was a wonderful cook, and often would employ Rhys and Rhylee's help when making dinner or baking cookies. This led to Rhys developing a hobby, mostly for baking, and whenever Sebastian Read would return home, it would usually be to the sight of his wife and youngest children in the kitchen, with various dishes in the sink and a variety of food substances on the counter. All of which Amélie would wash and clean up after everything was in the oven, kindly denying Sebastian's offers to spell everything clean.
Along with growing up primarily under Amélie's influence, Rhys went to primary school with most of their muggle peers, which of course meant utilizing pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, and even learning how to type on a computer in their later years of primary, shortly before they embarked for Hogwarts. The other kids and Rhys... didn't exactly get along. Rhys was never very social in the best of times, so they were prone to disagreeing, arguing, and even fighting with their peers. Nothing terribly physical happened... until about Rhys was about 9. They and their classmates were on a field trip of sorts, and some kid made a negative comment regarding the way Rhys dressed. This was after the other student had spent the majority of the day finding various ways to insult them, and so when they were insulted based off of the way they dressed, Rhys finally snapped. Tackling the other student to the ground, Rhys was able to get in a total of two punches before their teacher broke up the fight. It resulted in both students getting detention, but the student no longer gave Rhys any trouble.
As an additional result, Rhys's older brother, Rhun, later gave them lessons regarding fistfights. Not that he particularly cared, but it was important to him that Rhys knew how to make a proper fist, and that they could decently defend themself. Because he'd be damned if his younger sibling ever lost a fight with someone plainly from a lack of knowledge in fistfighting.

ReducioMargret stood in the hospital waiting beside her brother and sister-in-law, while her nephews in-laws counted down the seconds. The baby was coming any minute now and Margret’s hopes were if not low, nonexistent. If her brother was a squib and married a muggle, and if her nephew was a muggle who married into a family with no magical history then she was sure that the child that was about to arrive would also be a muggle. Drawing in a deep breath and heaving a sigh she looked up at the clock mounted on the wall. Tic… tic… tic…
It felt never ending. Heaving another sigh she finally decided to rest a while and sit down. After all labor was a nutritiously long process, which is probably why she never wanted children.
Tic… tic… tic…
Footsteps can be heard coming down the hall. Tabish stands up, only to be met with the breeze of a member of the hospital staff passing him. He sits back down.
Tic… tic… tic…
Footsteps can be heard coming down the hall. No one gets up but all eyes turn in the direction of the sound. A member of the hospital staff pass by.
Tic… tic… tic…
Footsteps can be heard coming down the all. No one gets up. No one looks. Someone clears their throat, Margret looks up and there they are, the family doctor. Everyone stands. “Is everything alright doctor?” Asks Tabish as his wife takes his hand. The doctor scans the faces of the group before speaking. “I’m proud to announce the successful delivery of a bouncing baby girl.”
A sigh of relief passes through the group only to be forgotten by near instantaneous embraces of joy and excitement. “The mother is well and currently recovering and the father is with her. But, I can lead you to the nursery window so that you can see your first grandchild if you like.” Said the doctor before being closely followed three halls down to the nursery.
A large glass window pane separated the baby from the rest of the world. Peering into the room Margret took note of the several infants lying in their cradles crying and crying as they were poked and prodded by needles and sticks, cold metals and lights filling their limited senses all the while one baby stayed silent and still. Adlai, read her name tag. Adlai Winifred Rod.
“I see you’ve found your baby.” The doctor commented, following Margret’s gaze. “She’s a funny little thing. She didn’t cry or scream when she came out. We thought she was holding her breathe but turned out she just came out silent. She only whined for a minute when we took her from her mother to check her vitals.” Margret remained silent, causing the doctor to look back up to her face. “Well, I can see what side of the family she takes after then.” The doctor then excused themself.
Margret continued to stare at the baby and watched as a crying newborn was placed into the cradle next to hers. The child had stopped crying almost as soon as they were laid to rest on the soft bassinet… almost all the babies around Adlai had stopped crying. “Ugly little worm,” muttered Margret, “you may just be my saving grace.”

Charlotte hid under the bright red plastic sled, catching her breath. She was dreading this day for as long as she knew it was going to happen. Charlotte had yet to make any friends. The move from Missouri to England had been hard. Starting a new school was harder. She was teased relentlessly for her accent, her constant daydreams, and all the time she spend alone. She heard the kids getting closer. She held her breath, getting ready to run. "Where are you?" the kids taunted, "Where are you hiding?" Charlotte bit her lip, beginning to creep among the shadows of the bright plastic playground equipment. She heard the group of kids begin to fan out, to find their target, to find her. She darted, heading for the small, shaded area, covered by trees. She heard the other kids behind her, shouting. She glanced around, hoping, praying for a teacher to be nearby. Of course, there was not. She soon got to the trees and climbed the first tree she could. She climbed into the shaded trees, covered by the foliage. The kids finally made it to her. She held her breath, refusing to budge. The kids chattered, taunting her, teasing her, daring her to come out. But they never found her. Years of hiding from relentless teasing and the frequent hide-and-go-seek games she played with her younger twin siblings had trained her, to find the shadow, to remain silent, to remain hidden. Soon, the kids left, and Charlotte slid down the tree. She went to the main playground, where the school day was finally ending. She signed out and began her walk home. She heard the taunts of some of the kids behind her, as they were getting on the bus. She shook them off. As she began the short walk home, she noticed a cat. It was in a tree, silently stalking a bird, with a special sort of grace, poise, and silence. It stuck to the shadows of the leaves, and the bird didn't notice the cat until it was too late. Charlotte watched, with curiosity, with intrigue. Then it hit her. The best way to hide from the bullies, the best way to avoid the constant teasing, is to learn from the cat. To remain silent, in the shadows. Charlotte smiled, a new resolve in her eyes. She knew what she would be studying that night.

Reducio
Reuben was introduced to magic by his mother at an early age. She would often show him all sorts of spells of all the magical fields. One, in particular, always stuck out to him― transfiguration. Specifically, she would often use the Bird-Conjuring Spell, 'Avis' to calm Reuben down after one of his tantrums, believing it was the birds he took a liking to. She was wrong, however, it was, in fact, the art of Transfiguration, especially conjuration. He adored the idea of creating things out of thin air; altering them to his needs and liking; vanishing them for the fun of it.
Growing up he would often get engulfed in his mother's old transfiguration textbooks as if he was in his own world. It truly brought out the bookworm in him. He perused each page with great care, making sure he didn't miss a single word. It was very much unlike him to be so absorbed into something so monotonous; at least according to most people. It was a sharp contrast to his otherwise effervescent personality. He was enthralled by the concept of Transfiguration, finding it a safe haven from reality.
Reuben's mother always encouraged him to pursue his love for Transfiguration. She saw the joy it brought her son and how enthralled he was by its complexities, so she did whatever she could to nurture this passion of his. She believed in Reuben and wanted him to make the most out of this unique hobby. He often stayed up late reading all about it, studying each spell and concept with great care and attention. His enthusiasm towards the art only continued to grow as time went on, eventually becoming an important part of who he was. Reuben felt at home when practising Transfiguration, a feeling that he never truly had before. His mom knew this and was determined to support him along the way - no matter what.
Reuben arrived at Hogwarts eager to explore Transfiguration. He was determined to make the most of his passion, studying each concept and spell with great enthusiasm. He was amazed at all the incredible things he could do with it He loved how a simple flick of his wand could produce such amazing results. Transfiguration had opened up a whole new world for him, one that he couldn't wait to explore. Unlike his other classes, he took his studies in Transfiguration very seriously, wanting to take full advantage of this incredible art form.

Name of Ability or Race/Talent that you Are Applying for: Parselmouth
Describe why this fits your character:ReducioThe Clavell family has been a long standing Pureblooded family, that dates back so far that it cannot be tracked anymore at a certain point. Even with the means of magic. This did however explain an ability that seemed to skip every other generation or every other two generations. It explained why Antonios grandfather seemed to be so adept in the care of snakes and so intrigued by the animal. It explained so much yet it wasn't common knowledge. It was kept a secret even within the family. Only telling others inside the bloodline who possesed the ability.Languages: Parseltounge, Snake Speaking
At times when Antonio was not able to go to his uncle and his brother could not stay with him, then his grandfather would watch over the boy. While this rarely did occur as the edging man progressively lost the energy to deal with a young child it did still occur. Antonio grandfather was a snake fanatic, and it never did make sense to the younger boy. His grandfather owned three pet snakes each with their own glass container located somewhere in his grandfathers house. Usually these days where very quiet for the boy. His grandfather taking too sleeping on the sofa infant of the fireplace. Allowing the boy to freely roam with a few rooms being off limits as exceptions.
At first Antonio showed no interest to these snakes and steered clear of their containers. But as the boy started to show an interest in magical creatures he also began to show an interest in these reptiles. Hovering over their tanks and talking to them aimlessly from behind the glass. It was slightly pathetic to the boy, that he had to even talk to the snakes for company. But at least they seemed to always listen. Their heads raised as their beady eyes kept contact with the boys own. At one point Antonio asked his grandfather how he took care of the reptiles, and to the boys delight his grandfather Carlos, complied to the boys wishes. Showing the boy how to care for the reptiles as well as providing reading material for Antonio to intake as well.
It soon became regular for Antonio and Carlos to take care of the snakes needs when the boy first arrived at his grandfathers manor. Then when his grandfather went off for his nap Antonio would care for the snakes himself, but usually he just read to them, or talked aimlessly. Venting about whatever problems or concerns he had at the time.
Antonio couldn't recall when the snakes started to speak back to him.
Or when he seemingly began to understand them. He didn't know until one day he was just talking to the snakes as per usual with his grandfather supposedly sleeping.
"Have you tried ssshowing them?" The snake slithered in its container. Bobbing it head to go along with its speech.
"Well no I haven't but that's a stupid idea."
"You ssshould at leasst try." The snake replied monotonously.
"Well.." The boy trailed off as he heard the raping of wood from behind him. Turning about in his chair to see his grandfather standing in the doorway.
"Now since when did you start talking to my Antonio?" His grandfather spoke addressing the snake instead of the boy.
"Wait, wait. He can actually talk? Im not just imagining it." Antonio exclaimed in shock.
Leading to his grandfather siting down with the boy and revealing his own secrets. What a Parselmouth was, the language of snakes Parseltounge, that he and Antonio where both Parselmouth's, not to tell anybody else in the family, and so on. Leaving the boy very confused as they proceed to chat for around two hours until Antonio finally understood it all.Word Count: 619
