Amanda smiled at Rylet. “I agree.” She then spotted Kaegan Deathmote enter the room. Amanda had some complicated feelings about that boy. On one hand, she hated him and thought that he was rude. But on the other hand, there was something else there, something that Amanda couldn’t quite place...Mentions: Mae Reeds
Interactions: Rylet Lynch and Kaegen Deathmote
Amanda said goodbye to Rylet and walked over to where Kaegan was sitting. She smiled at the girl sitting next to him. She must be pretty brave. Amanda then sucked in a deep breath and let a jumble of words come tumbling out. “Listen Kaegen, I’m sorry for being a complete ass, I mean jerk, to you. She promptly shut her mouth afterwards and her face turned a slight shade of pink. What did I just do... I sure hope that he doesn’t attack me.

I’m so sorry Rylet for not replying sooner
I didn’t see your response until just now.

Interacts: People next to him?
The death witch. The blasted death witch was right there.
When she walked over to him, his left hand jerked, a massive twitch as his hand tried to shoot up his sleeve for a knife, as if it had a mind of it's own. At the same time his pupils made a desperate surge for the outermost corner of his eyes, stopping short halfway through the iris and slowly retreating back to where it belonged.
It was her. Threat level 9, name unknown. The death witch that stole names. Or at least tried to.
"Listen Kaegan, I’m sorry for being a complete ass, I mean jerk, to you."
Sorry for being a jerk? Was the cold blooded attempt to steal the essence of who someone was now summed up with "jerk?" He had thought that the word meant someone who wasn't nice. Who knew it was referring to diabolical mastermind the whole time?
"Sorry?"
It was ludicrous. This had to be another trap, but he could still see the professor out of the corner of his eye. She was still there, which means this death witch wasn't going to start anything. Unless she was sorry. In the very unlikely event she was, it meant she needed something. Needed something bad enough to come talk with her sworn foe.
"What do you need?"

Amanda was caught off guard by Kaegen’s question. “Wh-what do I need? Um, nothing I guess.” Amanda paused and thought about it. “Nope, don’t need anything. Is there something wrong with me just saying sorry? I thought that that was just what people are supposed to do.” Amanda shrugged. Man, this kid’s difficult. He seems to think that everything I do is a trap.

Yes, it is something people do. But they always have a reason.
Everything had a reason. People said sorry when they wanted to be friends, when they had to, when something was making them or if they wanted to look good in front of the teacher. There was no reason for her to randomly want to apologize. She was trying to trick him, and he was onto her.
Something was about to happen, and he was not going to get the short end of it.

“I suppose you’re right. I’m not exactly sure why though.” Amanda studied Kaegen’s dark eyes and groped around in her mind for a reason.
Then the puzzle pieces all fell into place. No. No, that can’t be. Amanda lowered herself into the seat next to Kaegen and buried her face in her hands. “Oh crap. This is not good, not good at all.”

What in the name of all 13 remaining dark places was this? What the heck kind of trap was she trying to set? If she wasn't even sure why she was apologizing to a boy whose name she tried to steal, then why was she doing it? There had to be a reason, there was always a-
His train of thought broke off abruptly when the girl sat down next to him Kaegen shot up and over the table, clearing it by at least a foot. She was trying to get closer to him, that girl was trying to get closer to him so she could do something horrible. Her saying it wasn't good was no doubt a lie, or some kind of ruse he didn't even understand.
He landed a bit past the table, and turned to face her. Now a bit more comfortably on the opposite side of the table. It had been a impressive jump by anyone's standards. Fear had lent the boy wings, and his feet had been plenty strong enough to carry him a bit past where he had to go.
Nonetheless we walked the few steps back to the table and sat down, now opposite the death witch. He would call her... Name Wraith.

Amanda’s head jerked up when Kaegen jumped back. Why is the scariest kid in school scared of me? Then she realized that this strange kid thought that she was trying to hurt, maybe even kill, him. Amanda laughed. “Oh my god, Kaegen. I was just trying to sit down. I’m not going to kill you or anything. Come, sit back down again.” Amanda gestured to the seat next to her. “Calm down, I don’t bite.”

Why did she want him to sit back down? Next to her? The death witch. The death with that was trying to steal away what made him Kaegen, what his honor was bound to. There was no way he was going to do that. No. Way.
"I know you don't want to kill me."
She wasn't going to kill him, she was going to destroy what made him him. It was worse, far, far worse. He made sure to keep his hands off the table, far from hers.

Amanda sighed frustratedly. “Listen, I don’t know what your problem is, but I have no intention of harming you. What exactly is it that you think I’m going to do?” She couldn’t understand this boy for the life of her.

"Tell the wolf how you would kill the sheep, and you might as well fire the sheepdog."
Did this girl really expect him to tell her what he thought she was going to do? That would be giving her ideas, how stupid did she think he was? Grandfather had warned him of exactly this.
