"Trapped fox?" Jack repeated with a smile. "Did I really seem trapped to you?" They were probably more right than he first believed, though, when he thought about it. He had been trapped in a kind of awkward situation when he'd seen Aida last.

Their words puzzled him a little but he simultaneously found them charming for some reason. The talk about being lost and found...was it meant literally or figuratively? What did he mean? Come to think of it, he wasn't quite certain himself. "Yes...I found you. I was looking for you, actually, when I saw your name next to mine at the table."

When they leaned in to peer into his eyes, he blushed quite involuntarily, but stood his ground, determined not to lean away. Their own eyes were quite mesmerizing and he had no trouble focusing on them in turn. Jack chuckled lightly when Aida told him they had found him so he didn't need to be lost anymore either, but their following words about meeting him there being very important had him confused again, if intrigued. Aida certainly seemed like an odd one, but not in a bad way. "Important, huh? Well it's a good thing we found each other, then, isn't it?"

Hazel eyes blinked when the wix mentioned mayhaw, the type of wood his wand was made of. They could tell that just from...what, exactly? The scent? He's seen their nose crinkle but hadn't even taken his wand out for them to smell it up close. "You have an amazing sense of smell if you could tell just by that," he praised them, regarding them more closely as they seemed to be listening for something. What, though, he couldn't imagine. The air was too full of the sounds of ball-goers for him to hear anything else.

Just then, Aida told Jack to hit them with a spell and Jack stared at them, more befuddled than ever. "You - you want me to do what?" Their comments about sensing a good duelist at least provided a little more context for the request, but Jack could have thought up a dozen better ways to test someone's aptitude for dueling than asking them to hit you with a spell. "I, uh...I haven't really looked into dueling. So many others seemed to want to go for it and I didn't want to be in their way. Thank you for the compliment, though...I think?" They hadn't explicitly called him the good duelist they sensed, so maybe they meant someone else. But if they didn't, what were they basing that sense off of? The wood of his wand?

Aida jumped slightly, startling Jack in turn and causing him to stumble back a few steps. He quickly regained his balance and recomposed himself, trying to seek out the source of the disturbance. He had barely managed to spot the kid that people had flocked to at the ball's entrance - presumably one of the event's hosts - before Aida was asking him to moderate a duel between them. Jack's jaw dropped.

"Huh?" Right then and there? Were they really serious?

The green-haired ball host boy looked as stunned as the Slytherin did and it seemed to take him a moment to comprehend the question before he responded. And, to Jack's further disbelief, the response was an affirmative. He really didn't mind hosting a random duel in the middle of a ball? His ball, no less?

Evidently not. He even suggested a place for them to go to do it. Unless, he continued, they were referring to having the duel in the dueling club room later. But Jack didn't think Aida had meant later when they'd asked.

"That's awfully kind of you...but you're sure you don't mind? This is your ball, right?" Jack wanted to confirm. "Um...nice sunglasses, by the way." They were nice, but why the guy was wearing them indoors, Jack couldn't imagine. For the aesthetic, perhaps?

Not long after, the girl who had been at the entrance - the other host of the ball, Jack assumed - came up to the boy and whispered something in his ear. The redhead's brows rose, but the girl - Bailey? - stepped back soon enough and apologized for intruding upon them. Maybe she'd had something to say about the random duel about to take place, but no, it didn't seem like it. She soon let them go back to going about their business, leaving Jack to wonder what she'd whispered to her hosting partner, Kim.

So...were they really going to do this, then? The Welsh teen supposed he hadn't had anything better to do in mind; it wasn't as if mingling or socializing were strong points of his. He didn't think he knew the first thing about dueling, but then again, he did take the time and trouble to teach himself spells above his grade level. Perhaps they would come in handy in a duel. It was worth a try, wasn't it? He only hoped he didn't come to disappoint Aida.

Clapping his hands together once, he said, "Right, then! We were headed to the place to the right of the dance floor, was it?"

But soon Bailey had returned to latch onto Kim and before Jack knew it, she was dragging him away to the center of the room. Jack glanced at Aida and smiled awkwardly, shrugging. "I guess when you're the host, you have to host. Did you want to have dinner and maybe we can duel later? Or, uh...did you still want to duel now?"

After getting some snacks and hanging out with Ava, it was time for dinner. I kinda regretted eating so many of the snacks, because well I was full now. Glancing around the room, wondering if Bailey and Kim were going to announce when it was time for dinner, I spotted something. Something that was all my fault.

I had made Taizu cry. I had no idea why or what the heck I had done, but maybe he got mad at me for leaving him? I had felt bad that he was all alone, because well, I knew that horrible feeling. So, to ensure he wasn’t feeling left out, I went up and talked to him. He seemed pretty nervous and on edge, so I left. I didn’t think anything else of it. I just did it.

Many people were swarming him probably asking if he was ok and that sort of stuff. I didn’t want to make anything worse, so I just sat at a table and regretted my decisions.

Bailey had stopped comforting Taizu, so I assumed he was better. She gave a quick announcement, and off we were. I swooped down at my spot grabbing my plate and hopped in the back of the line. I still felt terrible about how I had made Taizu cry. Well, I assumed I had done it. It totally could have been some one else, but deep down I knew it was me.

I waited my turn and began loading my plate with food, but not too much. I plopped down at the second table, at my assigned spot and began quietly picking at my food.

After eating, I slipped out of the door way before the event was over, and went back up to my dorm.

He suppressed a cheeky grin after a moment, breathing slowly to drain the color in his face. He hated the way it quickly turned red, but his face naturally was so it was covered up a bit. Dora however, well it was obvious she was blushing. You could see her face from a mile away, he thought.

"You know, our meeting is because of the library but I haven't seen that lick of sass since then, is it because of my charm?" He mocked, smirking slightly. Teasing people was always fun, 'specially when you know how to do it right growing up with a brother. Teasing was in Gabe's nature.

His feelings were confused right now, humor was a good way to cover that up. He didn't know how Dora felt about all this, but her stuttering told him it was something good at least. Thinking about what he felt was hard, even harder when he had to add Dora's feelings in the mix. It would be worth it, to figure out all this stuff in the end but for now, he lived in the moment.

He turned his head to Bailey, who started talking. Almost dinnertime, but still time to do something else. He was asked what he wanted to do, he'd already had a fair bit of drinks and snacks so maybe dancing. He wasn't sure, he was a good dancer, but it had been a while since he had danced. A moment's decision was enough for him to overcome his nerves and start speaking. "Would you like to dance?" He asked nonchalantly, sticking his hand out.

“Seemed that way to me.” Leaning forward, an iridescent sheen of indigo passed across the white wix’s irises. “I don’t know anything about your situation, but I have a sense for some things… and right now it’s still telling me you have an animal trapped inside of you that wants to get out. Are you really living how you want? I think there’s something more that you need, something that the creature inside you wants that it’s not getting. Why or what, I don’t know. Does that make sense? I don’t know why we met but this can't be the end of it. I think you’re right; it’s good that we found each other.” Leaning back and pulling on a strand of white hair, Aida chewed one lip pensively. Although Jack didn’t pull out his wand to confirm Aida’s suspicions, he did seem to verbally acknowledge that the wix’s nose was right.

"You - you want me to do what? I, uh...I haven't really looked into dueling. So many others seemed to want to go for it and I didn't want to be in their way. Thank you for the compliment, though...I think?" Jack may have been reluctant, but when Kim consented to the duel happening at his event, a half smile crept over Aida’s face with hopefulness.

“Oh, thank you. Here and now is best,” the wix said to Kim. With a pleasant giggle, Aida admired the brilliant red of the idol’s sunglasses – they were the color of a hummingbird’s throat. It seemed that the host’s peace would be short-lived, however, as Aida's fellow Ravenclaw, Bailey, came up and whispered in Kim’s ear. Aida nodded obliviously back to Bailey following her apology for intruding, but by the look in Kim’s eye it seemed like he might need to go.

Burning with curiosity, the Ravenclaw wanted to confirm what their sixth sense was screaming so loudly. Yet, as much as Aida could sense from smell and instinct alone, they still wished Jack would pull out the mayhaw stick for examining. They were going to duel, right?

Get him to say more before the battle, hissed a militaristic command in Aida’s head. Squinting, the wix couldn’t help but be curious about what the wand’s core was. That simple detail could change a lot about how he fought. Still, if they went along with this, Aida might find out soon enough… depending. Maybe. Ask him. With an eyeroll, Aida did not appreciate the voice bossing them around. This was no time for complicating the conversation.

Indeed, patience seemed to have been the key when Jack clapped his hands once and agreed to the impromptu battle. "Right, then! We were headed to the place to the right of the dance floor, was it?" Aida didn’t even bother to respond, instead taking Jack by the arm and lightly tugging him over there.

“I guess you have a lot to do, right, er … Kim?” Aida guessed the host’s identity based off his Asiatic appearance matching the name on the invitation. “You can come if you want, or it’s alright to let me handle this.” For as socially out-of-touch as Aida was, even the wix understood the importance of responsibility. “You trust me, don’t you… Jack? I can both moderate honestly and play. Isn’t this funner than food? You do want to, don’t you?” Again the enthusiastic Ravenclaw deduced the other’s name, this time based on his admission that he’d seen his name next to Aida’s at the table, with the other possibility (Simon) not in attendance. After all, Aida had nothing better to do on the rounds about the room than to observe people, and the wix happened to notice that two seats to their right had been left untouched. Yet, as observant as the Ravenclaw was, the eye of Aida did not, in fact, see all. Not yet, anyway.

"If you say so." Ayuna replied, still smirking. "You do look like a gentleman today." her hands reached out uncertainly and fixed his collar with care, looking pink. "That’s better isn’t it? In my opinion, you do look like a gentleman today." she looked up attentively at Lucas, lips curling up into a loving smile. Indeed, in the girl’s mind, the Gryffindor was a true gentleman and she liked him. It was a feeling she had never felt towards a boy, sweet like the lollipop she was licking, but she’ll ignore that for now.

"You don’t like cherry?" the girl asked with an inquisitive smile. "Hoped it was strawberry or some other flavor right?" The girl had been through situations like this, always hoping for one flavor when it was actually another. A bit like Bertie Bott’s Different Flavored Beans actually, never know what you are going to lick. "Everyone had been in this situation in one point of their lives." she shrugged, "Why I've had number of times when I thought the flavor was pineapple when it's actually mango or banana."

Ayuna smiled as she stroked Hardy, "He is indeed." grinned the Ravenclaw, extending her hand with the mouse curling inside towards Lucas, "You can pet him. He's quite cute and will do no harm to you." The girl smiled sweetly and waited for the boy's reaction.

"Oh, it's dinner soon!" said Ayuna, and walked with her boy towards the dining table. Lowering into a seat, she tucked her dress and sat down politely. "I'm hungry and looking forwards a nice dinner! Don't you?"

Hey guys! Sorry for the tag, but just wanted to say that your characters will still receive the gift bags and gifts from the party, since they were signed up ahead of time.

This also goes for any other people who do not show, and have owled Kim and i at they will not be able to attend for a valid reason.

Bailey was hugging Taizu, trying to comfort you younger friend. “Thank you!! I know I’ll need the extra set of hands, Kim and I should have recruited help!” laughing bailey said this, but she honestly thought that she and Kim had done a pretty amazing job, and she was happy with how the ball had turned out.
Taizu and Kim helped bailey make sure everything was perfect. Eve fry so often bailey would glance at taizu, and catch his gaze, and smile his way.
After everyone had gotten food, and the lines had died down, Bailey filled a plate and went to sit down. She was next to Kim on the middle table, and she sat next to him.
While they were eating, Kim leaned over and asked what her questions from earlier were.
Bailey had forgotten about that, but she remembered as she swallowed her food and said “oh I was just wondering- after we finish eating, how about we have people dance and I’ll - or you can- make an announcement about the Photo Booth? And we’ll make sure everything is perfect for the snow tunnel and the mini gift exchange and everything. Then after that.. I was thinking we could have a final dance, and then Start having people exit and head to their dorms?”

Instructions:

step one: write your entrance! We have lots planned, and set up!
step two: interact with other players! Please add on the top or bottom of your post if you are open or closed to interactions.
step three: enjoy and food and drinks and dance. There will be snacks and light drinks from 1 PM to 3:30 PM, and the dance floor will be open the entire time, with music provided.
step four: Dinner! Dinner will be served at 4 PM, or after the second or third mod post. On our posts, Kim and I will include announcements for dinner, and there are seating arrangement. I will include a floor plan, with your seating arrangement, in both a group owl, attachment on my post, and in the sign up thread.
Step five: picture booth! This is when attention will be drawn to the picture booth and more detailed instructions will be given at this time.
Step six: snow tunnel/gift exchange! The last part of the BaiKim Bash. You will go through the snow tunnel either by crawling through it to get a snowy icy experience, or by walking through it. When you emerge on the other side, there will be an area set up for you to do private/public gift exchanges. This is a time where if you've bought gifts for each other, you can do the exchange there. If you didn't, you'll be presented with a small gift from BaiKim instead. More details will be provided at this time IC.

He wondered if she was mad with him, he saw reason on why she should have been. He had practically been a jerk, he was surprised when she said that everything was okay. Then she said the part he expected, she thought he wouldn’t come back. “Of course I would come back! I Would never abandon a person unless I absolutely had to. Yes, I won’t do it again,I just don’t want another person to know that I’m a metamorphagus.” He said. Shortly after she told him that there were now snacks at the Bash. As she said this, his stomach grumbled, as if it was telling him to go back into the ballroom and stuff himself with cookies and punch. Ava took his hand and led him towards the direction of the ballroom and led him to the food table. He didn’t mind what food he got, he wasn’t picky. He just grabbed some random food and some punch. He saw that Ava was done grabbing her food too so he led her to their chairs and put down his food and pulled back the chair again like he did at the beginning. What was up with him being like a gentleman? He shook it off. “Everyone has had their fair share with enemy’s, do you have any? Just curious” he asked her just to strike up a conversation.

Oliver was trying to explain himself, and she sighed. She wanted to scream at him: “our talent isn’t something to hide. People should know!” but she just took his hand and said “I know, I know.”

When they walked in there were snacks on the table, enough to feed an army, it seemed. Once they both had snacks, he led them back to the tables and pulled out her seat for her. She wanted to blush or even giggle, but wasn’t that just what a gentleman did? She pushed aside the thoughts as he began a new conversation. “Everyone has had their fair share with enemy’s, do you have any? Just curious” she glanced up from her food and studied him before answering. Could she trust him? “Well there was the rude boy from the train,” she held up one finger and was prepared to tick off a few more. “There was Damion White,” she shook her head in exasperation and held up a second finger. “Cassandra Ironwoods, yes the prefect.” she hoped he wouldn’t ask for an explanation. That one was by far the most embarrassing of her enemy making scenarios. A third finger was up now. “David Howard, the one who just apologized. So are we still enemies?” she held up a fourth finger none the less. The next enemies were fresher, an open wound and she was hesitant to list them. But she remembered it was Oliver she was talking to, so she shared. “Irina Sousa, Colin McCoire, Thorn Cullen, Jannette Applebottom, and Lucian Mornstern are a few—lot more.” She lowered her head in embarrassment. She had nine fingers up at the moment. She would wait a moment before reflecting the question at him. “What about you? Do you have any enemies?”
