I am so late to this, but I was reading back: I personally think it is dependent on your character! For more reserved, bookish students I recommend the Augureys. If you’re more jumpy and excitable I recommend Jackalopes, and for those more in the middle I recommend unicorns! Really, though, it’s up to you and what you think might interest and excite your character best. Jackalopes and Augureys probably have the most potential for a personal connection—just because there are more! Happy creature caring.
I think Aurora is more in the middle, so I chose unicorns. Thank you professor!

Kim's going for the unicorns because he's always loved them. But he's loved all types of magical creatures. So he doesn't really care where he goes as long as he can be around animals!
