Emma reaction, while standard, was still unique in the way that she didn't just splash back with her arms. As she dove under the water, Kalani had visions of being grabbed by the legs and being tugged under, like the kids in the warm ocean of Hawaii. So, she pulled her knees up to her chin, becoming a floating ball in the water, knowing that if Emma was to tug her underwater she'd have to grab onto her swimsuit, which was a lot more difficult and you could defend yourself a lot easier.

But before she realised she'd made a mistake, Emma's legs kicked out at her. She cried out in shock and delight; she bet her bracelets that the girl was a Ravenclaw. She started splashing in the water, to try and push herself away to get out of the splash zone, and to give herself some room to fight back. She was too afraid to use her legs unless she kicked the brunette; she knew how dangerous it was to get winded underwater.

When Kalani was comfortable with her wiggle room, she pressed her goggles into her eyes and then dove under the water. She could see Emma ten times better now that she was under, too. She resurfaced briefly to take a breath, then dove back down. She swam quickly at Emma, arms outstretched, and pushed her palms into Emma's shoulders, attempting to force her to resurface. If she did, Kalani would then try and stay underwater, splashing upwards at the brunette.

With her fogged goggles, it was quite hard to see underneath the water. If fog had somehow made its way below the surface, it was definitely what she had been seeing. She felt almost blind, and it was no joke. It was hard to even see her own feet with the tinted water that still had its black ominous color. Whether the sea floor had been carpeted with seaweed or even gillyweed, she wouldn't have comprehended it any better. The only positive: the blinding sun nowhere to be seen.

Her legs flew around willy-nilly, with no sense of direction or care, well, just that she wanted to soak Kalani with as much water as possible. She felt as the water moved softly against her body, and then move rapidly against her. That wasn't normal.

Emma continued to keep her head underneath the surface despite her short breath. At most, she could hold her breath for a minute, thirty with a short breath, but it wouldn't have hurt to push the limits. Her ears rang and her lungs begged for air, but still, she tried her best to ignore it.

She was half-thankful that the Gryffindor had pushed her to the surface. Any second longer and she possibly would have passed out. She didn't have the time to defog her goggles, well, not unless she swam far away as possible. Likewise, she gave one more splash with all her might, despite the fact Kalani had still been underneath the water, pushed the goggles until she heard that suction cup noise, and broke into a swim.

She could only stay under for so long. Emma stuck around far longer than she'd expected, and as soon as she broke the surface Kalani had no choice but to follow. It wasn't to the point that she would have fainted had she stayed under, but she never liked to push the limits when it came to the water. It was a dangerous thing, far more dangerous than you can truly realise. Not until it makes you realise.

As she broke the surface, she was almost immediately pushed back under by a wave. Normally she may have been baffled as to why there were waves in a lake, but she knew that it was Emma; she just didn't realise she could be that strong when it came to waves. She came up as soon as she could, gasping for air and taking a moment to tread the water as she regained her senses. It took her a moment - and a cleaning of her goggles - to realise that Emma was swimming away. A lop-sided grin on her face, she followed.

She cut through the water in a smooth breaststroke. She considered grabbing Emma by the foot, but it still didn't seem like a good idea. Instead, she swam up next to her. While she tried to consider what to do, she realised that her feet had found the weeds that signalled they were coming up to the shore. She let her whole body find the bank, and pushed herself up onto her two feet. She beamed at Emma, laughing a little, and splashed up some water with her hand. They weren't really aggressive, just a playful one to finish the match. "A tie," she signed, because she wanted to take a break and was far too proud to surrender.

With a sigh, she threw herself down onto the sandy bank, not caring about the sand she'd have to scrub herself from later. She let her head hit the shore, throwing up her hands to act as a pillow. She looked up at Emma for a moment, then patted the space beside her. "Time to relax," she signed with a grin.

Emma felt her legs brush against the seaweed (and some other unknown plant) and decided to poke her head up from the water. Now, she was relying on her sense of touch instead of sight, she might as well just have closed her eyes. As her head broke the surface off the water, she took off her goggles and rinsed them once again.

She felt a small wave hit her abdomen and she smiled, clapping her hands to her body. Despite the summer humidity, she was always cold no matter the condition. A rush of joy overtook her sense, no gigantic squid had come to devour them, and she had had a phenomenal time swimming with Kalani. She had even learned a few things. 

¨Thank Merlin, I thought I was going to pass out.¨ The brunette said, standing up and walking towards the shore. It was much easier to move around in the water, but now despite the low quantity of people she still found it hard to move the same feet she had been using in the Lake. She let her body fall on to the sand, as if she had no bones nor muscle. 

Emma nodded, it was definitely time to head back to her cabins. Her actual bed made a better surface than the grainy sand. ¨It was amazing to swim with you, but I think I´m going to go back to my cabin, bye Kalani!¨ She smiled trailing off, catching a glance at the food, but not even that was enough to wake her up. This nap would definitely throw off her sleeping schedule.
