Every step had taken ages to climb. Duvessa was nearly asleep by the time she reached the top but she went in relentlessly. Then why had she climbed up? To be alone, of course.

Slowly, she pushed the door open, half expecting a teacher there. A blast of icy, cruel wind glowered at her for a moment and then she stepped into the classroom - the highest peak in Hogwarts. It was all very neat, the cushions were arranged splendidly and the chairs were upright, still sitting. Duvessa quickly scanned the top, making sure that she was not alone. She fervently hoped that no one had followed her - that was good.

She spotted the sprawling stairs. She had no intention of breaking in, or cruelly going for revenge - no. She was odd, creeping here into odd times at night…just to be alone. Gaze at the sugared sky and feel the occasional pats of the wind. So far, she was alone, and heaved a sigh of relief. She tucked her black hair behind her ear neatly and wrapped her black coat around her more tightly. She could see the whole of Hogwarts.

The Forbidden Forest, looming eerily at her and she could swear that she heard howling in the distance - a werewolf night? She thought curiously. She spotted a tower, where her dorm must have been. Suddenly, she froze. Footsteps.

Azzy was on their way up to the Astronomy Tower roof, to try and think a bit. In silence. They have had a really long day. Their Charms teacher had helped them learn Reparo and Tarantallegra. They looked at the keychain and chuckled to themselves. That was fun. They headed up the steps and into the classroom, the cool night air barreling into them. They heard someones breath hitch, as soon as they pushed open the door. They sighed, not alone, they had perfectly memorized their schedule so they didn't have to put up with people for a little while. "I come in peace, just came to think and draw for a little while." They slowly approached the person. A Slytherin. Oh boy. "Get your insults over with, I really don't feel like dealing with people any longer than I have to." Their voice was shaky, as they had hidden in the abandoned bathroom and cried for a good 20 minutes because of a Slytherin boy calling them a girl, making them more dysphoric than they already were. They peered into the darkness, it was a female. Seemingly. They sat by the balcony edge and looked over it. The Forbidden Forest was eerie at this time, it's darkness seemingly endless. It brought them comfort, then again. Darkness had always brought them that safe feeling.

Duvessa froze. The darkness whispered to her, but she ignored the shuffling.
"I only attack when provoked. My name is Duvessa Nyx Ember, I see that I am not the only one looking for some peace." Her voice rang through the silent night, as the moon glowered down at the two students.

Duvessa always wondered, how and why do students fear Slytherins. But that was nothing new to her, for her old village was eerie enough. She nearly felt tears prick her dark, pensive eyes but she hastantly blinked quickly. It was just no good to cry in front of a Gryffindor....in truth, perhaps, she had always wanted friends. But it was only in her dreams did she find them, apart from her dear sister, Lorita.

Her sickly pale skin gripped the edge, forming into claws. In truth, she was more afraid that they. Her eyes surveyed the figure in front of her, wondering how it was possible that she was not the only one who would have creeped into the tower for some alone time. The darkness swirled around her and she nearly smiled. Some people were scared of the dark. Scared. But not Duvessa, she was very nearly born in it.

Azzy listened to the Slytherin, "I only attack when provoked. My name is Duvessa Nyx Ember, I see that I am not the only one looking for some peace." The girl said. Azrael smiled softly, the moon seeming to illuminate Duvessa's skin. This gave Azzy the edge they needed to make out the girls features. Her hair was jet black, and her eyes seemed even darker, but there was a shimmer, tears. They looked at Duvessa and sighed. "You can cry you know... Slytherin or not. You're still human. Humans cry. It's only natural." Azzy stated, their voice soft. "I'm Azrael Veronica Faire. You can call me Azzy though. I'm Non-Binary. So my pronouns are They/Them." They looked at Duvessa. Her skin was pale. "If I may. You look like a Goddess of Death. It's a compliment." They were treading lightly, as they'd picked up that this girl was sensitive about some things. And they didn't want to upset her, they knew at times they could be insensitive. It's why they wanted to do their best to try and make Duvessa their friend, they haven't made an enemy yet and they hoped they never would. They pulled their golden and red blanket around their shoulders. "Why don't you come sit down with me?"

"I..." She was at a loss. She didn't know what to say. No one had ever asked her to do that. She pushed her hair aside fiercely as another distant howl came from the forest. Her eyes crackled with electricity as she stared at the kindly figure.
"Go away." She prounounced finally, her hands forming claws, "Coming here to disturb my peace. Again." She whipped her head around, and cast one fleeting, desperate look at the seemingly endless forest that loomed in the darkness. Then she turned on her heels and ran.

The door slamming into the wind, she hurried down the uneven steps. She thought for a second that they would crumble, but her eyes were blurred anyway. What she needed was some peace, rest and a good night's sleep. Of course. She clumsily fingered her way down the stairs, cautious not to fall.

The Gryffindor had called her "Goddess of Death". Sure, normally she would have passed that comment without a shrug. But now, the words stung her.
"You can cry you know... Slytherin or not. You're still human. Humans cry. It's only natural." They had said. But that felt like the problem. She hated being seen. But that just made her more determined to return the next night. Alone this time, she would make sure of it.

Azrael flinched a bit as the door slammed, maybe they had said something wrong? They didn't know. Duvessa had seemed a bit irritated, they wondered what she was thinking under that hard scowl. She seemed offended. Maybe it was the Goddess of Death bit... They shook their head silently. If they wanted alone time they got it. The girl had seemed nice though. Though they thought they saw a bit of pent up stress. Duvessa looked like she needed a break. They had tried to give her one. Maybe tomorrow they wouldn't have to get defensive and put on their happy mask again. They rested their head against the stone behind them and closed their eyes. Curfew was soon. And Azzy couldn't shake the feeling they'd said something wrong... The thoughts haunted them. They took out their sketchbook and started sketching. The girl had reminded them so much of a Minecraft Streamer they watched, the wife of Ph1lzA Minecraft. Kirsten, the Goddess of Death. As they drew they zoned out, they couldn't help it. Their hand seemed to move on its own now. A bit later they finally shook away the fuzz and looked at the drawing, it was Duvessa, and she looked stunning, a black veil covered her eyes. They had drawn her as Kristen, the Lady of Death. They sighed and closed the book, gathering their supplies and walking down the Astronomy Tower steps, maybe they would get the chance to apologize to Duvessa tomorrow here. Maybe...
