- Monica's heart was still beating a million miles a minute, though time had past, and it had in fact been a few days since the night of the ball, she still could not remove the fluttering butterflies that lingered on since the closing night. To think she met up with Hiro... to think he whisked her away to the petting zoo, wanting to spend time with her. Than to play Save your date? It truly was a fairytale ending for her indeed!
Before anything was known the night had ended, and Monica realized that she had completely ditched her original Dance dates. She felt horrible, even if they gave her permission to do so. It wasn't what she was planning at all, and felt like she not only had to apologize, but also inform them on how her date went anyways! (not that it was a date... more like a hang out, but at a dance, where couples normally are....perhaps Monica blew it up more so in her brain, but could one blame her?)
Monica had taken the time yesterday to write up an owl, inviting both girls to meet her after class in the girls Lavatory, it seemed like the easiest place to meet, and more private, upon entering the space, Monica could see the appeal to all those bathroom break downs she watched on tv, this place had an oddly calming atmosphere.
Monica waiting in the room, she took the time to wash her face and take Kiwi out for some treats, Hopefully both girls would arrive, hopefully they got the letter too!

Oh The Night I Had
@Monica Evans
Beatrice was a bit unsure of the letter her best friend had sent her. The redhead had a niggling suspicion that it had something to do with the Ball. Monica had been acting slightly weird about it shenever she had mentioned it. Skraele and Bea had had a fabulous time, even with the unfolding attack that had happened after Monica had left. And that was the problem, wasn't it? Monica had left her two friends for a boy, a boy who was quite happy to slightly make their acquaintance and then leave, dragging Monica along with him.
Bea wasn't really sure what to think of him. She'd only met him at the Ball for all of five minutes, but in truth, he hadn't inspired adoration out of Bea like he had out of Monica. Beatrice wasn't sure what Skraele thought, but she secretly hoped Skraele agreed with her.
Making her way to the lavatory just as the owl told her, she pushed open the door to find Monica and Kiwi inside. Smiling, she rushed to give her a hug, and then petting Kiwi. She hadn't talled to Monica about the ball, but it seemed to be something hanging over the group. "Hey! You wanted to talk? Is Skraele coming?"

- Time seemed to pass slowly, Monica was beginning to wonder if the girls were in fact hurt by her disappearance. She paced around the chambers, mumbling to herself, "I mean, if they didn't want me to go they would have said something right?" Her voice echoed in the abyss, with Kiwi being the only thing around to hear it. Not a moment after did the door swing open, Monica frozen in her place and Bea came rushing in, meeting the Slytherin with a hug, Monica wrapped her arms around her friend, her heartbeat settled. Monica pulled away, beaming at seeing Bea, who was giving an equal amount of love to Kiwi too, who was already so spoiled.
"Bea I am so happy you made it!" The bathroom door shut, echoing through the room. "Is Skraele coming?" Bea asked, Monica looked over the Ravenclaws shoulder, hoping the door would swing open and Skraele would join the two of them.... but after a few moments it didn't seem like that would be the case. "I did send her an owl. Not sure if she might be busy?" Monica took Bea by the hands, if Skraele missed this, she would make it up to her later, but right now Monica wanted to make things right with Bea. "I just wanted to first apologize for ditching you guys at the Ball." A lump grew in the pit of Monica's gut, she hated apologies, it always made her feel like she did something wrong, but as her father always taught her, 'it's better to admit your wrong and keep a friend, than assume things were good and miss out in relationships'
She looked up in Bea's eyes, "I was really looking forward to hanging out at the ball with you guys, and I am sorry that I missed out on that chance to, after picking out our dresses together, and getting ready.... I just feel like an awful friend..." She tried to force out the last few words, hopefully she was doing the whole 'I'm sorry' thing right, that was the one thing her father did not teach her.
"I would love to hear how it went for you guys though!"
Monica held off on telling all about the night with Hiro, figured it would be better to hear about the night they had before just injecting her own story upon Bea.

Bea followed Monica's eyes, looking over her shoulder with the other girl. When, after a few seconds, no one else appeared, Bea turned back and shrugged. It wasn't uncommon at this stage. She hadn't seen Skraele, or now that she thought about it, Hilda either. She hadn't seen Hilda since Summer Camp, and the nagging whispering thought that something had happened floated through her mind again. Bea had sent numerous owls to no reply, and at this point, Bea figured she had other more pressing worries. Like this conversation with Monica. She hoped Skraele would show, but Bea's hopes her slim. At Monica's reasoning she might be busy, Bea shook her head, her red curls flashing in the sunlight like a halo. something that would have been nice at the spoken about event. "A haven't seen her much since the Ball." Bea winced at the memory. "A think what happened there scared her. She's been in hidin' ever since." Her accent was coming out thicker. Probably something to do the the amount of emotion at the memories. Bea hated reliving them. She hadn't been close to the action, but she had heard and seen enough. And she truly didn't blame Skraele for what she wanted to do. But Bea missed her terribly. A permanent ache had settled in her chest whenever she thought of her friend.
Bea's eyes went wide as Moncia grabbed her hands. What was going on?? But as the apology flowed from Monica's lips, the instant panic she felt evaporated and turned into love. Seriously, how great a friend was Monica. Opening her mouth, trying and failing to cut Monica off and alleviate some of the guilt her best friend was currently experiencing, she waited until she was trailing her sentences, giving her a tight hug at the end, tears forming in the redheads eyes. No silly boy would get in the way of their friendship. Ending the hug, Bea looked Monica dead in the eyes, voicing her thoughts out loud. "No silly boy is going to get in the way of our friendship. You're one of me best friends! That isn't gonna end just because of one boy." The next bit ended up in a singsong like croon. "That you happen to go a date with!" She bumped her shoulder with Monica's. "How was it? After ye left us?"
At Monica question though, Bea grand smile turned downwards. "A suppose ye heard of the attacks." She cleared her throat, stopping for a second. "Me and Skraele weren't close to the action, but seriously, it was crazy. One girl almost died! We ended up fleeing with all the other students." What a disaster really. All Bea had wanted was to spend a fun night with her two best friends. One had gone off on an impromptu date and with the other, she was close to getting attacked! Seriously, an absolute disaster. Bea hoped that Monica's night had gone a smidge better than hers.

- Monica could sense the weight of the memory lingering over Bea. Though Monica wasn't there for most of the attacks, she sure heard a far share about them.... bits and pieces, and to think that she left Bea and Skraele alone to deal with it. Monica could imagine how scary it would be... was that why Skraele wasn't here? Why she hadn't heard from her? What kind of a friend was Monica?
Luckily though Bea accepted Monica's apology, bring a tear to the Slytherin's eye. Bea was such an incredible person, and Monica was so glad to have her as a friend! "That you happen to go a date with!" Bea's question came, almost as a surprise to Monica, but at the same time, it was bound to come up at some point.... After all Monica really wanted to tell Bea all about her evening, but wanted to make sure she at least said her peace first, and seems that all was well, so why not finally talk all about what her night was like?
"Okay... well we go to the petting zoo right! And I mean the whole time he is acting like really weird..." Monica began to recount the events of the night.... in so many ways it was a huge blur, but mostly because things just happened so quickly. Being pulled to the zoo, only to be quickly whisked away to the Save your date game.... which was fun, at least they finished, but was far from winning.
Than dying Monica's hair, it was fun, but perhaps was too quick of a choice all at once. Monica was very grateful that Hiro was willing to dye her hair back to blue.... what can she say, she had fallen in love with the vibrant, shimmer of the blue look.
Monica shared all of this with Bea, in great detail, and a slight glow to her cheeks, "He is just... so amazing, and really fun to be around! I wish you guys got to meet him, not in the current state he was in.... I have no idea what that was." Monica paused, taking a breath after sharing all of her story, before looking into Bea's eyes, "I am so glad that you guys were okay though! I can't even imagine how scary that would all be..." If Bea would let her, Monica goes in for a huge, "I am so glad we are Friends Bea!"

Bea listened as Monica went on about Hiro. Her face carefully blank, she watched as Monica's lit up. Bea wasn't sure how to feel about the boy who had captured her best friends heart. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with him. He had been polite enough to Bea and Skraele when they had all been introduced but something weird like Monica mentioned, had been happening that night. But in Hiro's defence he hadn't been the only one. Bea had seen numerous people affected by something. The food and drinks probably. Which just sent alarm bells ringing in her head. Was anything safe here at Hogwarts?
But back to Hiro. He had seemed off, only wanting Monica's attention, and Bea felt kind of insulted in a way, that he hadn't wanted to get to know her, and that he had dragged Monica away. Was she jealous that she didn't get to spend time with her best friend? Maybe just a little. But Bea could come to terms with it being here in the girls bathroom. Because she was here and Monica was apologising and everything was alright.
She bit her lip when Monica mentioned Bea's own night. It had been scary enough. "It was...interesting. I'm glad we're alright too! I can't believe it all happened at the Ball!" She went in returning Monica's hug, holding her tight, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. "Me too! And I'd love to meet Hiro properly. Without any weirdness." She sniffed, reaching up to touch Monica's hair. "When did this happen?"

- Monica was relieved that Bea wasn't mad at her. To be honest, with the way everything happened at the ball, Monica wouldn't blame the girl. Allowing herself to be pulled away like that was rather rude, and Hiro could have done a better job to want to meet Monica's friends, but Bea was such a kind and caring person, she was able to forgive Monica and return the hug to the Slytherin.
Pulling back, Monica nearly giggled when Bea pointed out her hair... looking down she could see the colour was fading a little, giving her less of the brilliant Blue it once was, "Seems like nothing last forever... and my Natural dark strands of hair are trying to reclaim my head." Monica looked at herself in the mirror, remembering when she sported her natural Black hair, she did like it. It made her eyes pop, and had a silky shine to it as well. But there was no denying her love for the blue hair... if the colour was coming out, perhaps it was a good time to think about change..."Perhaps I try dying it another colour, any thoughts what I should go for?" She asked with great anticipation... she was willing to try anything, blue looked amazing, but perhaps pink would be fantastic! OR Purple! There was no limits to what Monica would try.
"Have you ever thought of changing your hair colour? It is rather fun to see yourself with different looks!" Monica asked, looking at the gorgeous strands sitting on top of Bea's head. "One day I will learn the spell that boy used on me over summer camp to make my hair blue, then changing hair colours whenever I want will be so easy!"

Bea smiled at Monica, a slightly perplexed look on her face. Hadn't Monica dyed her hair? Or was it a trick of light? She was relieved when Monica vonfirmed that she had and Bea giggled. "Just do all the colours of the rainbow! I reckon purple would look good next!" The redhead half turned to watch her reflection in the mirror, scrunching her nose as she cast a reflective eye over herself. "I don't reckon other colours would suit me. You have beautiful dark hair. Mines...red. Curly red hair." She sighed wistfully. Sometimes she longed for another colour, brown like her mothers perhaps, but at other times, she absolutely adored her red hair. It brought her closer to her father and grandfather, both of whom shared her fair complexion and hair colouring. She turned back to Monica after realising she'd slipped into her thoughts for a moment, hoping her friend hadn't realised. "Do you think another colour would suit me?"
When Monica mentioned a spell, Bea's brow furrowed. "Do ye mean the Hair Color-Changing Charm? I know it. I've never really tried it outside of class but I bet it would be fun...and easy!" The end came out as a laugh, and Bea had a sudden thought. Her eyes lit up as she proclaimed, "Why don't we cast it one each other- when you've got the hang of it?!"

- MA smile sprawled across Monica's face as Bea spoke, "All colours of the rainbow?? Now that is a thought!" She added with a chuckle. Trying to picture what it would look like. She had seen some video's back home of these hair stylist that layered colours in a persons hair, each section reflecting another colour, and passing a hand through the hair would cause a waterfall like effect of colours. It was rather mesmerizing... but would that be a lot to just have on your head always? Perhaps it would be fun though... could the colour changing spell make that level of an effect? "You know the rainbow look might be a thought... wouldn't have to choose just one colour that way." Monica spun around, and looked at her reflection in the mirror, trying to picture her blue locks changed out for an array of all the colours. Bea spoke up about her hair just being....Red. Monica turned back to the Ravenclaw,
"What do you mean? Your hair is BEAUTIFUL! I love your hair!" Monica spoke with such enthusiasm, to think that Bea thought her hair was anything less than stunning. "Also! Might I add that having naturally dark hair makes it rather difficult to keep a bright colour, but your hair..." Monica reached out grabbing a small piece of Bea's hair, holding it next to her own Blue strand, "This would be so much easier to colour!"
Bea looked at herself in the mirror, Monica just let her have whatever moment she was having, then the red-head turned back to Monica, "Do you think another colour would suit me?"
"Without a doubt!" Replied the Slytherin.
Monica was relieved when Bea mentioned the Colour changing spell, "Yes! That is what that boy at summer camp did to create my blue hair, during the truth or dare game!" Monica pointed out, "And once I master that spell, You know I will be enjoying new colours every week!" laughter erupted from her gut, just the thought of having a new hair colour every week sounded so ridiculous, Magic was amazing!
Gurggle....
Monica's stomach made an awful noise... seems that she was growing rather hungry. Looking up at Bea, she tried to see if her friend shared the same feeling, "Are you as peckish as I am? Perhaps we ought to get some supper?"

Bea laughed at Monica's enthusiasm, speckles of mirth sprinkled in. "Without a doubt, a rainbow would be cool. Imagine creating a rainbow as you whipped in back and forth." A she said it, Bea whipped her head from side to side, red locks flying all over the place. She giggled as she righted herself, a slight dizziness coming over her. She clutched onto Monicas arm for balance. "You'd be the pot of gold at the end too!" Eyes shining at Monica, she beamed at her best friend. She was tremendously glad she had met Monica at Summer Camp.
At Monicas compliment, Bea scrunched her nose. She didn't know what to do, how to take the compliment. She felt her cheeks heat with the nicety. "Thanks..." Most of the time she didn't think about colouring her hair, leaving it to others who more confident with their appearance. Bea knew her red hair wasn't something to be embarrassed about, and usually she wasn't. It just felt weird. Changing her hair colour. Changing her appearance. She was sure that Nan and Ma would kill her if she did it. The spell Mon mentioned could be a good way of doing it. "Well, if you want help we could always see if it works? Doing the spell and trying for a rainbow?" A tone of curiousity leached into the question because she didn't truly know if the spell would work if wanting a rainbow.
She giggled at Mons stomach rumbling. "Let's go get something to eat." She could feel her own stomach starting to eat itself. Linking her arm through her best friends, she guided her out of the bathroom to look for some food.
Guiding Monica out of the bathroom. Both leave the thread.
