Danielle was excited that morning. She could barely sleep the night before, in anticipation for her first day at Hogwarts. She had packed her bags two days before, and made sure she had brought everything she thought she would need, and after a short ride to King's Cross, Danielle found herself stood in front of the steaming Hogwarts Express with her family, about to board. Her brothers, had already gone ahead, chosing to sit with their friends.
Taking her trunk, she boarded the train, waving good bye to her parents. She walked down the compartments, looking for an empty seat. Arriving at an empty one, she hauled her trunk up on the rack and sat down with her bag on one of the couch/chairs.
Taking out a book that she would need for her schooling, she read ahead by a bit to pass the time. After all, she had heard that the journey would take a bit more than an hour. When Danielle looked up again, the conductor was announcing that the train would leave in a few minutes.
Outside the compartment, there was still a steady flow of students boarding, and Danielle was glad she had gotten on early, or else all the spots would have already been filled.
The compartment door slid open again, and Danielle turned towards the newcomer.

dialogue othersooc note. aah sorry this is so baddElira had woken up moderately early today: 7 42 in the morning, to be exact. She pushed back the covers and stepped onto the rug on the side of her bed before walking over to the shower in the next room, just off hers.
A solid 20 minutes later, she re-entered her room, humming Shostakovich's Violin Concerto, then pulled out a jumper and blue flared jeans out of her closet, putting them on.
"Keeley!" she called, and a small house elf had apparated immediately in front of her.
"Yes, Miss Lamacraft?" she asked politely.
"would you be so kind as to bring my trunk to the main door?" Elira asked, and the elf nodded.
"yes miss!" the elf replied with a squeak and disapparated, taking the trunk with her.

Elira waved goodbye to her parents on the platform. Stepping onto the train, she sighed, looking round, then walked past many compartments, looking for an empty one, where she could sit alone with her thoughts. The conductor then announced that the train would be leaving in a couple minutes, and the girl exhaled calmly, wishing she had arrived earlier.
Giving up searching for a compartment, she pulled the door open to one where there was a singular girl inside, reading a book.
"would you mind if i sat here?" Elira asked, praying the girl would say yes.

In stepped a girl about her age, with wavy brown hair and what Danielle thought was a very nice-looking fit: flared jeans and a striped top.
"Not at all!" Danielle responded to the girl's question, gesturing to the empty seats and giving a smile, relieved that she wouldn't be sitting the entire journey in deafening silence. "I'm Danielle. Danielle Emberwood, wizard-born. You can call me Dane, though. Either is fine. What's your name?" She closed her book and placed it back in her bag and waited for the girl's response.
A few moments later, a cart rolled by their compartment, and the lady asked them if they would like any snacks for the journey.
"Yes, please," said Danielle, reaching into the cart to pull out several chocolate frogs.
"That will be ten sickles," said the lady, smiling, and Danielle handed her the coins from her bag.
"Do you collect these?" she asked the girl, opening one of the frogs, taking out a card that she already had a stack of. Sighing that she didn't get the one that she hoped for, she reached for another. "My collection is almost full. I just need a few more, but I keep on getting duplicates."

dialogue othersooc note. any cards you need? i have dups"Not at all!" The girl responded and El sighed with relief. "I'm Danielle. Danielle Emberwood, wizard-born. You can call me Dane, though. Either is fine. What's your name?" she asked, closing her book and placing it back into her bag.
"I'm Elira. Elira Lamacraft, pureblood. Feel free to give me any nickname you wish, i highly doubt you will find something others dont call me already." Elira responded with a laugh.
"Anything from the trolley dears?" A voice called, and El noticed that a lady with the infamous snack cart just stopped by their compartment.
"Yes please!" Danielle said, picking up several chocolate frogs as Elira fumbled for her purse.
"That will be ten sickles." the lady said, and she passed her the money.
"Hi, I'll take these, please." Elira said, picking up several chocolate frogs, a sugar quill and a small box of bertie bott's every flavour beans.
"That will be 13 sickles." The lady said and the brown-haired girl handed her the money.
"Do you collect these?" Danielle asked, opening a chocolate frog. She looked at it, sighed, and reached for another. "My collection is almost full. I just need a few more, but I keep on getting duplicates."
"Yeah, i do. I've got the same problem, i just keep getting duplicates and it's the most irritating thing ever!" Elira agreed, opening up a chocolate frog. She sighed in disappointment when she saw it was just another silver card of Bellatrix Lestrange. "Great, another Bellatrix."
Elira quickly bit into the frog before it jumped away, then faced the dark-haired girl again. "What house do you want to get into? Personally, Slytherin. Literally my entire family has been.. well at least on my mother's side. If they didn't go to Hogwarts, it would be one of the school's equivalents, i suppose. I'd literally be disowned if i got into any other house, you know what i mean?"
