Things had been a little too agitated since winter break, was like her life had made a one hundred and eighty degrees turn. She had witnessed things that she never thought she would see or hear about while at Hogwarts. From the girl caring her knives collection to the girl that wanted to murder her friend…friend that now seemed to had found someone else to spend his time with...well…it’s enough for caring about that, honestly there’s so much more to do or to think about! That’s why Ree decided for a walk after classes had ended that day. She missed to be around nature and the Hogwarts’ surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful.

The campgrounds sounded like a good option that day, she always loved to bake with her grandmother Maria. Whenever she felt sad or a little more down it was always a good way to fill her energy up, mixing sugar with a little fun and a lot of love. "Um.. can you help me light my fire?" She suddenly heard someone call her. It was a boy that she recognized from classes and she swore she had also seen him once or twice at the common room, although they had never exchanged words between them. "Hi there!" She said greeting him, "yeah! Actually I brought matches from home!" She said reaching inside her bag looking for it, "I've learned last time I was here, that without the incedio spell matches would be essential!" Once she found the small box she reached it towards him, "Here, take it!" she said smiling kindly, "What are you doing?" she asked with curiosity, "I was thinking making some cookies, want to join me?" Rina invited the boy, then she remembered that she hadn't introduced herself yet, "I'm Irina Sousa, first year Slytherin. You can call me Rina or Ree!"

The boy seemed to have been relieved that Rina had brought a way to make fire without a wand. That's the little thing about being first years, a lot of useful spells yet to be learned! “That never crossed my mind. Whenever we needed fire at my house, my parents would simply cast an incedio spell. Thank you.” The blond haired boy took the matchbox from Rina's hands with a smile, but his tone of voice made her wrinkle her nose slightly, was he acting rude?, "Sure!" She replied to him using the same tone, hopefully he would moderate his ways of speak. Putting her hands on her coat pockets she looked around the place, how did she never came here with her friends before? So many fun things to do there! Remembering again of the boy in front of her, she cleaned her throat before asking what he had been up too there, “I’m making s’mores, I wanted to do it with friends but…” But what? With that attitude you don't have many? She thought sarcastically but decided to not voice her thoughts to the boy, after all first impressions can sometimes be deceiving and she's not a person that judges on first impression...always...maybe she should had done it more...anyway! She decided shaking her cascade of depressing thoughts away from her mind. There's nothing wrong in trying to make a new friend right? So she invited him to bake some cookies with her, she thought it would be fun, specially if the boy reveals to be as messy in the kitchen as she was. “Um- sure, I guess, although I was excited to make those s’mores.” The boy nervously answered to her. Honestly? I'm not forcing you to do anything! Her thoughts attacked again and this time she said something too, "You don't have too if you don't want too!" She said a little more harshly then what she wanted, well let's say she can control her temper just until a certain dose...she cleared her throat again trying to avoid the boy's gaze this time, "I...I mean...I don't mind if you don't want too, yup!" She said nodding with her head before looking at him again, "That's what I meant!" She confirmed biting her lip feeling a little uncomfortable after her previous attitude. She didn't wanted to scare him or sending away with her bad response...actually she came there in a really good mood. So she opted to change the subject a little bit, like trying a second time to see if it rolls better. She introduced herself making her best to look kind and friendly and he did the same, “I’m Xaivier. Xaivier Rankus, and I’m also a first year Slytherin! I don’t have any nicknames, so just call me Xaivier.” he replied grinning and Rina felt happy that they finally seemed to understand each other, “Nice to meet you.” he finished and Irina felt her smile increase size in her lips, "Nice to meet you too Xaivier!" She said excitedly, "So you can have your s'mores and then I can share my cookies with you if you prefer?" She asked, "I'm going to one of those cabins, inside there's wood burning stoves that we can use to cook! You free to join me if you want too!" She declared with a smile and started to walk towards the closest cabin, hopefully Xaivier would follow her.

"Yeah, sure, although I feel bad for not helping you make your cookies even a little bit. But, you can join me and roast a marshmallow if you want!" Xaivier grinned at her. Rina started to feel more at ease with the boy. We can't say they started with the best foot but maybe her first impression of him had been based on his first reaction to a first time interaction with someone knew, not everyone can be comfortable doing that and she knew that some people can act defensively. She really hoped for it, because Rina likes to make new friends and Xaivier is also a Slytherin...which means if things went wrong he would be one more snake hating her in the dungeon...what wouldn't be pleasant! Although she wondered how far her secret along with Colin's and Lucian's had slipped and spread towards all the slytherin students...to not mention towards all school...Maybe that's why Xaivier had been rude at first? She thought pondering about it for a second.

Anyway, there's no need to think about that anytime she meets a new person right? There's nothing she can honestly do about it now. So she decided that she could invite Xaivier to go cook with her in one of the cabins, if he accepted it great, she would be very happy! If she said no then...well...then she would have her cookies just for herself...sadly!

So after telling him where she was going, Irina started to walk to one of the nearest cabins. "Alright, I'll come along! I've been trying out new hobbies, so I can try out cooking with you!" She heard Xaivier say from behind her. Looking over her shoulder, she noticed he started to follow her. She really felt relieved and excited that he decided to join her. It would be so fun to bake delicious cookies with a new friend! What could be sweeter then that?

Then out of nowhere, Xaivier yelled at her, "Race ya!" and started to run ahead of her. Rina started to laughed amused with the boy's attitude. She missed that, playing with friends, be allowed to be a child! "Hey! You started first! That's cheating!" Irina shouted back at him and started to run after him too. She was fast but the boy had all the timing advantages, so obviously he had won! "Next time I'll be expecting that!" She said laughing at him between her breathes while was opening the cabin's door for them to enter.

"Okay, let's start this!" She said putting her bag on top of the wooden table and starting to take the ingredients out of it, "Can you find me some bowls and something to measure or to weight the ingredients please?" She happily asked to her new friend, "I'll search from some baking paper and the other utensils we will need!" She said starting to search in a wooden trunk that was right behind the table.

"That's perfect Xaivier! Thank you!" Irina replied to her new friend when he said he had found the bowl and a set of measuring cups. After searching into the trunk and in some drawers, Rina finally found what she needed: baking paper and a manual hand mixer. To bad she can't use magic yet, although the fun on making everything without it may compensate, it would bring her memories from times passed with her grandma Maria in her cozy kitchen. That made her realize that she didn't knew if Xaivier had done anything like this before, she didn't knew if he had also muggles in his family or that everything that had always happened in his life was magic! "Have you baked cookies before?" She decided to ask him feeling curious, "I used too! With my grandma! She was a Pastry Chef before she retires." She explained while starting to turn on the oven with her matches, what to be honest, wasn't an easy task but at third try she was successful. "Finally!" She muttered excited. Then she headed to the counter to start preparing the ingredients. "Can you put the flour, the baking soda and the salt in one bowl?" She asked Xaivier, thinking how can they could share the tasks, "Hum... 3 cups of floor, 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 teaspoon of salt!" She explained, "Thank you!" She thought better thanking him nicely, she didn't wanted him to think she was being bossy or anything like it!

While she hoped the boy would start his part, Rina grabbed another bowl and started to beat the brown sugar with the butter and the white sugar. She just had the manual hand mixer and she was really missing muggle technology at that moment. It's so much easier with electricity! The butter was kept getting stack at the hand mixer and it would take a while until everything get into a cream texture. "Ufff...this is harder then what I thought!" She said sighing as she was beating with the hand mixer on the rim of the bowl in hopes of loosening the mixture. Let's say she got what she wanted, but she got some butter flying in small splashes everywhere too, including her left eye. "Oh!" She said in surprise while cleaning her eyes with the back of her hand, "I'm sorry!" She said starting to laugh of her clumsiness.
