Terrifying Sights.
It was late, Lucas wasn't sure how late, but it was late. Late enough so that he was starting to worry about getting back in time before curfew. He didn't exactly want to get in trouble over something as stupid as being late back. However, all this time, he had become very confident in his ability to navigate the halls of Hogwarts, so he was walking with purpose in his step, and trying to get back to the common room as quickly as he could possibly could without out right sprinting down the halls.
Not a lot scared Lucas, but spiders.. Spiders were enough to flip his usual demeanour on his head, or at least it used to. He hadn't really encountered many as of late, and most spiders within the United Kingdom weren't huge, in fact most were easily enough missed unless someone was actively looking for them, or were just right in front of them.
Not this.. Atrocity however. As Lucas had sped around a corner, a spider had come scampering out from under the bench, coming to stop in the middle of the room. From Lucas' perspective, this spider might be the biggest one in human history, enough to root him to the spot completely, the only noise escaping his mouth initially was a strangled gasp. Others likely wouldn't quite see it the same way, as the reality was just a notably large house spider. A Gryffindor, usually a paragon of bravery, was rooted to the spot by a common house spider.
Not for long, however, as Lucas reached into his bag, pulling out one of his text book. This bastard would face the full wraith of Lucas Chapman, just as soon as he could psych himself up to actually move forwards. It was just that every step forward resulted in two steps back, something that Lucas was thinking of as a tactical retreat, as opposed to the reality of what he was doing.
The spider remained perfectly still, innocently minding it's own business, almost mocking the young Gryffindor by not making a single movement.

Terrifying Sights.
Flora walked steadily across the corridors, looking around quietly. It was a bit too late for her to be outside-Almost curfew, she guessed, but she doesn't have the time currently. Anyhow, she'll have to get back as quickly as she can, before she gets scolded and all that.
Walking a bit more faster now, Flora tried to reach the end of the hallways quicker, yet she seemed to have no luck, due to how big and enormous the school is. She mentally sighed, before she turned a corner, and say a boy in front of her. She blinked and stopped, staring at the blonde-hair guy— Who was a bit higher than her, which was normal, but she can still guess he’s a first-year, just like her. She walked over curiously, looking at the alarmed boy, as it seems. He had his arm raised with a book, aiming at something, perhaps, yet he seemed to be stuck right on the spot like glue. Maybe he’s afraid? Looking at where he’s staring at, Flora almost jumped and screamed, but managed to stop herself as she jumped backwards, stumbling almost onto the ground. It was a—a—a spider, an ugly, big spider. No wonder was the boy afraid, and alarmed, and wary.
Now that the Slytherin sees the spider, she is, too, wary. She could literally feel her hair standing up on the back of her neck. Although she still looked calm on the outside, or more like not showing much emotions, her heart only pounded faster. Not really afraid of spiders, as Flora had always been, but staring at them makes her disgusted, and it freaks her out. She would’ve called for someone to clean it out, yet she can’t forget that this isn’t her family mansion no more. She can’t… tell others to help her, so she gotta help herself.
“Pardon me…” Flora muttered as she took out a random notebook of hers from her bag, and took out a few pieces of paper. Maybe it’s not the best idea, but she’s not going to kill it, it’s going to stink and be utterly disgusting. She certainly doesn’t want to go back with that yucky feeling. Walked unstably over to the furry, large spider, she shivered a bit and crouched down, holding the notebook papers besides the spider, and watched as it slowly crawled onto it. Its features can be seen clearly from Flora’s perspective, and she’s afraid she’s going to puke. Looking around, Flora tried not to feel her stomach tumble as she quickly stood up and ran up a bit farther down the hallway she was walking on. Unfortunately, no windows are found, and it’s still a long way before an entrance.
Tempted to rub her temples, Flora placed the spider with the papers, behind one of the knight statues, and ran away, rubbing her hands to get that scary feeling off of her. This is not the best way to end a day. The first-year walked back to the place where she had met the spider and the boy, to see if he’s still there, possibly, at least to see if he’s cool or not. She doesn’t want to be the only one seeing someone pass out from seeing insects.
Trust me, she had read people passing out due to spiders within novels, and she doesn’t want it to happen to her or her peers.Mention: @Lucas ChapmanOOC Note:Reducioapologies for having it written and posting it so late!

Lucas glanced back at he heard approaching footsteps, half concerned it would be teacher who may get annoyed with them this close to curfew, and half praying for an ally to help him out in his truly dire situation. His confidence momentarily returned, assuming it was the latter, and he turned back to the spider with a small grin. Now it was done for.. Oh. Lucas' face dropped when he saw Flora stumbling backwards, so much for that plan. Unity in cowardice.. That was a good plan, at least to Lucas.
Or not, he scowled, seeing as she began to walk forward, note book in hand. Not only had he been frozen to the spot in fear, but a girl had had to save the day, truly not a great look for the young Gryffindor.. Nobody could ever know of this incident besides the two of them. Perhaps getting her to swear to secrecy, an unbreakable vow perhaps, would be appropriate.
"What.. No, don't save it." He protested, likely not loud enough for her to hear as she rushed down the hall ways. After a few moments, Lucas set after her. There was no way this spider could continue to roam the halls, what if some other poor unsuspecting victim was struck with fear in a similar manner to Lucas.
As Flora returned from her peaceful solution, she would see Lucas charging passed her, letting out a valiant war cry, book raised above his head, ready to strike down this beast. Her act of heroics had roused something inside of him, not one to be outdone, he would have the final say in this encounter, and as he rounded the corner to the where the set of armour was, he set eyes with his target. It was a one and done strike for both the armour set and the spider. The spider was crushed, with the armour set unfortunately getting caught in Lucas' swing of the book, pieces of armour being dislodged, and clattering down onto the floor with a loud crash. "Oh.. Damn." He muttered, before rushing back to Flora, breathing slightly heavier.
"Hi, uh.. I just wanted to make sure that was dealt with. I'm Lucas." He grinned, extending his now free hand, having put his book back into his bag, out to her.

Terrifying Sights.
Flora glanced at the boy and raised an eyebrow. First, he was looking all scared of the spider. Now, he had finished it off rather bravely— People do change quickly sometimes, it seems. She winced when clattered sounds of armour dropped onto the ground echoed, and gazed at the boy as he walked back, panting heavily. She can tell that he doesn’t want to be seen as ‘weak’ or ‘cowardly’, yet she doesn’t get why. People are afraid of all sorts of things— Both of them not the only ones afraid of insects, or spiders. Well, perhaps it’s because he’s a Gryffindor, the Slytherin looked at his robes, and recognized it. Gryffindors are said to be very brave, another reason perhaps why he… doesn’t like the thought of it.
An amusing sight to see, perhaps, as she pointed quietly at the broken knight and the scattered armour. Hopefully others wouldn’t notice, she doesn’t want to be seen as a suspect or something— At least it’s not something she want to be scolded of. It’ll be hilarious, utterly hilarious.
“No worries,” Flora gave him a slight smile before keeping on talking, “I’m Flora Harrison. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She extended her hand too, to shake with him, before letting go, and gave another smile.Mention: @Lucas ChapmanOOC Note:ReducioSorry for the late reply! Lucas continued to glance back towards the now toppled armour set, a small frown on his face as he did so. "Flora? Nice to meet you, yeah." He briefly grinned towards her as he shook her hand, before continuing to glance back and forth between her and the armour set. He was in half a mind to go and pick it up, but that'd likely cause more noise, which he wasn't keen on doing, he wasn't entirely sure if toppling an armour set was something that'd get you in trouble.
After a few minutes of glancing around, his gaze eventually settled on her, letting out a sigh of relief. "Really didn't expect to hit that thing too.. Small lapse in my judgement, I guess." He shrugged, looking up and down her robes until his eyes locked on the Slytherin insignia. He'd met a few Slytherins now, more than he had actually expected to considering he had been placed into Gryffindor, and from all his parents had said, they historically did not see eye to eye what's so ever.
"I don't think we've actually met before, but how are you finding Hogwarts? I've spoke to a few muggle borns, and their perspective is pretty interesting, although, I half expected to have more.. Advantages coming here, but despite what my dad told me, the halls just didn't make sense for the first few months."
