STELLAE AND LUNA. One is never incomplete without the other. Irene couldn't imagine life without the shine of the stars dangling from the quilt-like sky or the ethereal glow of the moon stitched into the heavens. It was impossible. Space was her abditory, her hiding place. She knew she would cease to exist without it.
Having to wait until midnight to gaze at the stars was common for Irene, but it was one of the few things she truly lacked patience for. There was only so much time for one to successfully observe the stars and planets before one became weary, and having to wait until midnight to do so drove Irene insane. Still, she waited patiently in the Astronomy Tower, a few minutes early, as other students filed in, pointing and gasping in awe at the stunning view, however dark it may be. The stars were shining brightly tonight, illuminating the sky.
The distant ringing of the class bell echoed through the halls of the castle, traveling up the staircase, causing Irene to turn towards the Tower entrance. She waited for the sound of feet, barreling up the stairs, and laughed softly upon seeing a small group of students swarm the floor, clearly winded from the run. An irritated Prefect stood behind them, ushering the students into the room. The crowd was smaller than usual; it seemed a few students had missed class. She shook her head good-naturedly at this; Astronomy was a long way from the other classes, thus one of the only classes that Irene arrived at (on rare occasions) on time. She was almost always early.
As the students settled down, the professor's voice rang out from the front of the observatory, louder than usual. The teacher instructed the class about the new material that was in each of their cubbies and gave them permission to leave to their individual telescopes. Excited murmurs sprung up around the room as everyone dashed to their cubbies, grabbing the new parchments and hurrying over to their stations. Irene was already heading towards her telescope; she had grabbed the parchment first thing when she entered the room.
Placing her parchment onto the small stool next to the telescope, Irene peered into the eyepiece of the silvery-black scope, sighing softly. Someone had messed up the adjustments she had made only yesterday, from when she had turned the lens towards Jupiter. Upon further inspection, it was clear the lens was nowhere near Jupiter anymore, the eyepiece now showing a random cluster of stars. She would have to move it back to place. Rolling up her sleeves, she pulled a small hairband off her wrist, tying up her hair in a clean bun, and tucking the stray bangs out of the way before bending down to adjust the scope.
She didn't mind all the adjusting; she only found it irritating to have all her hard work erased and eradicated. In the past month of coming to Astronomy class, she almost never found her telescope in the same place it had been before. Shuffling to the right to turn the scope, she let out a small shout upon colliding with something. Her right foot slipped out from under her as she stumbled, the stool she had bumped into falling over and clattering to the ground loudly. Instantly, 13 pairs of eyes turned towards her in silent judgment as she steadied herself against the scope, her cheeks now red. She groaned quietly upon noticing her parchments had scattered and splayed across the wooden floor. She ducked down, covering her face in shame as she reached for her parchments. How humiliating.
As she reached for the last scroll, a hand scooped up the stray piece of paper, giving it to her. She looked up in surprise, her turquoise eyes meeting brown ones. Who was this?

André couldn't help but yawn as he climbed up the stairs to astronomy, He wrapped his blanket closer around himself as he made it closer to the top. He liked most everything about astronomy, except for the time that it had to take place. He didn't want to be in classes at the moment mostly because it was his birthday. If he wasn't such a rule follower he would probably skip. Luckily for the teachers and perfects he was.
He made it to class right on time unlike some of his classmates that arrived late. As everyone settled the Professor gave the instructions for to grab some new parchment from there cubbies and the telescopes. Again yawning he subconsciously nodded and followed the instructions.
He made it to the telescope and positioned it to face Saturn. His favorite planet. He was so focused on looking at the planet that when he heard the loud clatter he almost jumped out of his skin. He looked over to see one of his classmates grabbing some parchments that must have fallen. It must have been the hufflepuff in him but he walked over to her and grabbed the last scroll that was on the ground.
He held the scroll out to her, she had turquoise eyes. "I think this is yours?" He gave a slight smile to her. Blanket still draped on his shoulders.
