Arriving at the fourth floor, the first year wandered around the hallways until she found the room she was looking for. It was labeled "REHEARSAL ROOM", and it was empty. Mahlioz let out a sigh of relief and a small grin. She wouldn't have to come back later, and no one would have to hear her horrendous practicing. She hadn't played her violin since she'd come to Hogwarts. Over the past month and a bit, she'd taken advantage of the lack of nagging parents, and had preferred spending her time reading than practicing her music. But she didn't want to lose the knowledge that she had. Therefore, she was now standing in the Rehearsal Room.
She didn't know whether she was allowed to be here, but since it was only eight, she hoped no one would mind. The room was beautiful, and Mahlioz took a good five minutes just staring at it. It was filled with emotion, somehow - she wasn't sure how a room could be emotional, but this one managed it. There was a beautiful chandelier and the walls were covered in paintings of people. Mahlioz had heard about the room before, but never been there, and now that she was she wished she'd come earlier. The people in the paintings whispered to each other with kind smiles, looking eager for her to begin. Their antipation filled the young Slytherin with pride and a little apprehension, and she was happy to oblige to their hopes.
Placing her violin case on the floor in a corner, she opened it up and took her sheet music out of one of its pockets. Then she put her shoulder rest on her violin, tightened her bow, and applied rosin onto it. She finally stood up with her instrument and music sheets, sighing. Quickly tuning her violin by ear, she thought Here goes nothing... She then put her music stand together, set her sheets onto it, stood up tall, and began playing.
(OOC: She plays a different version so a few variations are cut out).
She was practicing La Follia by Corelli. Seeing that the last time she had practiced this had been over a month ago, it didn't sound great. But the piece was baroque, so she didn't have to do any vibrato (her worst enemy) and her trills sounded fine. Although her intonation needed some work, it was going better than she'd expected. Mahlioz was kind of enjoying it, weirdly enough.
And then, just when she was thinking practicing wasn't as terrible as she'd feared, the door opened.

It was 8 o'clock and Pandora was sitting tiredly in one of the armchairs in the common room. She was not sleepy, but she felt tired.Then suddenly something occurred to him. She would play the piano. She had forgotten how tired she was. She grabbed her bag and left the common room.
She began to ascend to the fourth floor with the stairs that changed direction. She had only been to the rehearsal room once. But after that day, she could not forget that room. It was exciting. She wanted to play that white piano again. She thought no one would bother her.
She was about to enter the rehearsal room. Just then, she heard the sound of the violin. She didn't know the violin, but she loved music. Finally she couldn't stand it and opened the door.
"Wow, you are really talented. I can't say that I understand the violin very well, but you played it very well."
Pandora came to the girl. The girl had milk chocolate colored hair, green eyes, she looked a bit like a boy, but from the vibe she gave it was obvious that she was a girl.
"I'm Pandora what's your name?"
She stretched out her hand.

A girl, seemingly Mahlioz's own age, walked into the Rehearsal room. From the moment the door opened, Mahlioz stopped playing instantly. Oh dear. People. She'd been hoping for some time alone... and she really didn't want others to hear how terrible she sounded! But the girl coming in didn't seem apalled by the music at all. In fact, she even complimented the young Slytherin, which made her blush. She didn't agree. She was no good at all. But she didn't say anything.
The other girl - a first year, probably, and definitely a Ravenclaw from the colors of her robes - introduced herself as Pandora. She had brown hair and light eyes, with light skin. That's a beautiful name, Mahlioz thought, before realizing Pandora had her hand out to shake. She quickly put her bow down in her case and shook the other's hand, somewhat awkwardly. "Oh, erm... nice to meet you? I'm Mahlioz."
She wasn't really sure what else to say. There was one room and two people who both apparently wanted to use it. Mahlioz had been there first... morally, she was the one who should leave. She'd been here for around ten minutes. Not enough to be considered practicing, but... she'd come back later. For now, Pandora could get the room.
The people in the pictures on the walls were whispering excitedly, wondering what was going to happen. "I'll, um..." Mahlioz started, before clearing her throat and composing herself. (Excuse the pun - composing? Get it? xD) "I'll leave you to practice. I've been here for a while already, you can get the room." She started putting her violin back into its case, semi-frantically and very self-conciously. Best get out of here quickly, so Pandora could practice. For some reason, the people on the walls seemed a little... disappointed? Well, what were they expecting? Mahlioz wondered. For us to... practice together? I'm sure Pandora wouldn't want that.

Beautiful name, thought Pandora. She didn't know what to say, she. She saw that Mahlioz didn't know what to say either. Just as she was about to say something, she saw the girl speak and put the violin in its box. Would she go? She didn't want him to go.
"No, you don't have to go. If you want, we can practice together. Or we can work separately if you want. Either way is fine for me."
Pandora smiled warmly. She wanted to play together even if she didn't say okay. She went to the piano. Getting to the white piano was enough to make her feel like she was in her room. She snapped out of her thoughts and turned to the girl.
"Which song do you like to play more?"
She asked curiously. She used to listen to songs her mother made. At that moment, an idea occurred to him. She took out his inspiration book from her bag and began to add his final melody. This is fine, she thought.
She put the notebook on the piano and began to play. She realized something was wrong while playing. Just stopped playing. Back to the girl. Looked at what she was doing

Pandora then started playing the piano. It was a beautiful piece, and Mahlioz thought the other girl executed it almost perfectly. She had no clue as to how she could even compare. Her self-esteem was getting lower by the second. The Ravenclaw stopped playing and looked at Mahlioz, and she had no idea what to say. "That was... wow. I, erm..." She was slightly regretting her decision to play along with Pandora. Would she ever be good enough at her violin to accompany the other first year? "Do you... do you have any duos? Maybe some sheet music I could read off of? I'm not great at sight reading, but, um, I'm better at that than playing by ear. What kind of music genres do you play?" she asked. As much as playing together was going to prove difficult, though... Mahlioz hoped Pandora wouldn't kick her out. She hadn't ever played something with someone her age before, so... hopefully it would go well?
