I'm not sure but Hermione was a gifted intelligence, so it could have been a possibility. But Parseltongues are most common if they inherits from a family member in the past

Everything would need to be explained. There might be a challenge with a true muggle born (as there is a genetic link, with the exception of Potter but that was due to what Voldemort did to them as a baby). Some explanation would need to happen to explain both.
