Ink on Parchment PV F. Harrison

Flora was reading her novel when a letter got to her. Curiously, she opened it and read through it. Quill Pals, huh, an interesting activity to earn new friends or meet new people. Smiling a bit to herself, the Slytherin 1st year took out a paper from her notebook in her bag, and started writing with dark blue coloured ink.

Dear Guinevere,
Greetings! It's certainly a pleasure to be quill pals with you, and apologies if some of my sentences are awkward. I've never written a letter to another one of my peers before. Anyhow, I'm doing quite well, you?

Despite how you seemed to already knew who I was, I will still introduce myself a bit. My name is Flora Harrison, first year of Slytherin, and I'm eleven years old. I currently do not have a pet of my own, but there is a family pet back at our family mansion. It sounds wonderful and exciting to own a pet though, and I can't wait to earn enough galleons to get one.

It also seemed that we have quite a lot in common. I plan on becoming a duelist in the future, too, when I learnt enough spells to join the club. If I'm not qualified, I may join Broom Racing. I also heard that quidditch are fun too- But I have a lack of interest in it than the two other sports, and I don't know if my body is suitable for that. In the end, my strength is not big enough, and my stamina is quite bad.

Chocolate frogs? I haven't start collecting them yet, as I'm not that sure where to get them, and I don't have fake permission forms and all that too. After all, though, it's no rush; I still have a lot of time in the future to collect them all.

Hogwarts seemed wonderful to me, it's extremely huge and significantly majestic! I can't wait to learn more and more magic and spells and become a better witch. I found myself disliking Astronomy a bit though, as it's quite boring to me. But otherwise I like potions and Care of magical creatures too. As for my wand, it's made out of cherry wood and snallygaster heartstring, 26.3 centimeters long. I haven't studied much on wand and their personalities and usage before, but I strongly believe this is the best wand for me- I can feel it in my heart. It's quite flexible for sure, but I'm not the best at feeling how flexible it is. But it's certainly cool to know what your wand meant for you though! Perhaps I'll go for a book once I finish the one I'm reading right now. I definitely want to know more about my wand.

Also no worries, people are always busy at school! Perhaps we can meet in person soon, as we're from the same house and if I'm not wrong, the same dorm (Thought I heard someone call your name yesterday). I can't wait to meet you in person!

Yes, broom racing does seem fun. I considered that before duelling, actually!
Woah- cherry wood! from what I remember, that means the magic it produces is quite powerful! I don't know much about snallygaster heartsring, though, sorry!
You're also in the Narcissa Malfoy dorms? Then we might have actually met before! Did you hear about the chaotic meeting on Saturday and the almost-murder the next night? Oh, what am I saying, all the school knows that by now! But that's probably how you heard my name being called. Since the rumors probably don't go into specifics, I'm the one that got her face sliced by the knife girl. Aka Thorn Cullen. Watch out for her, she's a total psychopath.
It's great you're fitting into Hogwarts! I remember I was completely in awe when I walked through the Great Hall for my Sorting. Oh! Did you expect to get into Slytherin? I was, sort of. It was an even balance between Ravenclaw and Slytherin, but in the end, I got Slytherin.
Learning spells and potions really is fun, although usually it takes lots of practice to nail a specific spell. You'll be starting with simple ones, though, so no need to worry about pulling all-nighters studying. That only starts in second year!

Dear Guinevere,
I did consider broom racing a bit too. Yet due to the huge cost on brooms, it's not worth it for now, at least after I earned enough money. Plus, I believe that I would want to own a pet first before getting a proper broom. I have a whole 8 years in front of me to pick different sports, and there's always time to try all three of them. As for pets, some of them die quickly, and I would want to have more bonding time with them, and the earlier I own one, the more time I've got for it.

Cherry wood does produce strong magic. I went to the library recently and looked for it. The book said that users of this kind of wood tend to seek more power than cleverness. For Snallygaster heartstring, it said that it's known for their speed, and is less aggressive than dragon heartstring made wands.

I definitely heard of the room fight. No offense, but I'm quite pleased that I'm not there. I don't want to get in trouble just for my first month. But it certainly does sound fun and dangerous though. If it were to happen once again in the future, I will certainly participate in it! I haven’t knew about Thorn Cullen much though, but after what you said I’ll probably be more alarmed around her.

I was in awe when I entered Hogwarts, too! It’s an amazing experience to enter this school, and I’m grateful for it. I did quite expected that I would be sorted into Slytherin though, as I’m a pure-blood, and I guess I quite am and acts like a standard Slytherin for some part. Nor am I brave as Gryffindors, smart as Ravenclaws, and be like Hufflepuffs.

I also won’t really worry about pulling all-nighters! I enjoy studying and I usually finish review and homework fast (Or write them in class, if I’m able to). The thing I’m the most worried about is probably practicing— I’m quite afraid of making mistakes, since I don’t quite allow myself to and it’ll drive me crazy.
