All of Samantha's attention was directed to Adelaide, who was now trying to hide her wand, as she the prefect assumed Bubba would take care of the boy. When she was told the boy had fallen into the lake, the brunette gave Adelaide a suspicious glare. People didn't just fall into the lake, well, most of the time. During the start of her second year, Samantha had seen a first-year Slytherin boy fall into the lake because of his own stupidity. But she refused to believe that the same had happened today, especially because she had seen Adelaide quickly stash away her wand. The boy had thought it was funny to throw the books in the lake... What an idiot, maybe he deserved to 'fall' into the lake next to them then.

Bubba's comment about somebody having to get the boy out of the lake made Samantha realize how bad the situation was. The small kid apparently couldn't swim and was trying to get some air whenever he resurfaced. Before the girl could even reply, another student waded through the water. Samantha had no idea where the boy came from or who he was but was glad that she didn't have to be the one to jump into the lake. However, she was less happy when she heard Bubba's words, specifically the curse word. "Bubba!" she looked at him offended. He knew how much she hated it when he cursed.

The unknown boy went off about how the other kid could have died, clearly really upset. As Samantha was trying to come up with a witty reply, Bubba already spoke. "Yeah," the prefect agreed, "we were already handling it. Have a bit of faith in the prefects." Why did this kid think he could just talk to a prefect like that?! He was just like Adelaide, terribly rude. He needed to show some respect to his superiors.

After a dramatic eye roll, Samantha walked toward the boy who had just been saved from drowning in the great lake. "Are you okay? she would gently place her hand on his shoulder. The kid was so small... Seriously. The brunette felt slightly guilty about leaving the boy in the lake for so long. If he hadn't almost drowned she would give him detention right away for throwing those poor books in the great lake.

Clark was pulled out of the water breathing heavily, his face shown a radiant shade of red in humiliation and exhaustion. It brought pain physically and mentally- instilling fear in him, fear that he never thought he would have. Would he ever go swimming again? That moment was terrifying. It would probably be engraved in his memory forever. After all, he had a taste of death. He could’ve drowned. if no one… would have cared enough to look out and to save him right then and there.

He looked up, coughing out water- probably in his savior’s face- not on propose- but to try to rid of some water in his system. “M-my Knight in- in- Shining- knight in shining- armor!”

He took a breath, calming himself- or attempting to. A look towards his Knight- and he could tell he liked him already- maybe it was true love. They do say ‘love at first sight’ anyways!

He heard the Knight yell at Bubbles- what he’ll call the male prefect because he didn’t catch a bubble (ooc: think clearly and do what’s right right off the bat in this situation).

And then the girl prefect approached him. “You should’ve saved me. I want you to issue Knight here”- he pointed towards the Gryffindor- “as my official bodyguard”

Sometimes, Adelaide really couldn't believe her luck. Not one, but two Prefects had witnessed her throwing the boy into the lake. Or at least had witnessed the aftermath, but it didn't take a genius to put two and two together. She was most definitely not going to walk into the lake after him to save him, though. And she was just about to open her mouth to say just that before someone rushed past, going to save the boy from the lake. Adelaide blinked in surprise, and she couldn't help but mirror Bubba's words, "Who the fuck is he?"

What the fuck was going on? She blinked again, sighing in exasperation at the dramatic change of events. Who the fuck was this other boy and why did he prance over, wanting to act all heroic? That was embarrassing, truly. The Ravenclaw turned to Bubba then, "Absolutely not," she shook her head vehemently, "I would not get into that lake if my life depended on it. Especially for him. No thank you." Did she know who Mitch Buchannon was? No, probably a Muggle reference she didn't understand. But either way, she would not get into that lake. The random boy had saved him anyway, though, and thankfully said Adelaide from being forced to take a dip in the lake. At least now that the boy had actually been saved, she didn't have to worry anymore about potentially having someone's death on her record. Not that he actually would've drowned with two Prefects around, but still.

With the boy saved, all Adelaide felt now was anger and irritation from the events that had occurred. Merlin. This gremlin must've taken a potion or something this morning, because Adelaide adamantly refuses to believe someone could be equally as daft as they are annoying. A knight in shining armor? For him? "Please, you are not important enough to need a knight in shining armor, and I highly doubt you're the first person to ever have been thrown into the lake. Maybe just learn how to swim," she shrugged nonchalantly. It was probably a very stupid idea to continue taunting the boy, especially with two Prefects around, but he deserved it.

Every face muscle she possessed had to restrain themselves to avoid making any judgmental gestures at Samantha's concern for the boy. He was alive, for Merlin's sake. It wasn't as if he was actually going to die. All he had done was swallow a tiny bit of water. And he had thrown her books into the lake, which were actually still in there. "He's alive, but my books are still in the lake," she pointed out, gesturing towards said lake, "so, how about we tell him, or someone else here, to hop back in there, get my books out, and then we can all go on our merry way. Sounds great, doesn't it?" Adelaide clapped her hands together, smiling a very obviously faux smile. Unfortunately, she was intelligent enough to know that there was very little chance of her getting out of this situation without a detention. Even though she'd barely done anything wrong. He had started it, she had just retaliated.

Don't throw someone's book into the lake for absolutely no reason other to be fucking annoying. Everyone should know that, it was common sense. But clearly, this boy lacked in that department. A lot.

The look of disbelief on Gabriel's face was hard to shake. From an outsider's point of view, the only thing he saw was a boy drowning and three others seemingly doing nothing. Although he felt stupid at the news something was about to be done, he felt that he did the right thing regardless.
"As much as I respect your authority, there was a boy bobbing up and down in the lake like an apple. And it did not seem anyone was very keen on saving him in the moment." He looked up at the older prefects, justifying why he got involved.

He kept close to the boy as the prefect talked to him. No doubt, the boy had obviously done something to deserve a reaction- but Gabriel thought having him in a lake...when he can't swim was obviously too harsh. His eyes darted quickly to the girl speaking rudely about the situation and made the assumption she was the one who threw him in.

Not making a smart remark to the prefects was difficult when the girl refused to get in the water. "So apologies for my rudeness, but your plan to get him out through her obviously wouldn't have worked." He blurted out, making a dig towards the girl. Honestly, it's a few books.

Turning to the girl before they could respond, he spoke to her directly. "If you're afraid to get a bit wet, just say so. You threw him in the water over a couple books, yet you won't go get them yourself. No one else should get them for you after that, especially a boy who can't swim."
