Thorn skipped down Diagon Alley waiting impatiently for her brothers to finish shopping."Come on, hurry up" she whine attempting to run down the street so her brothers would have to chase after her. "Not today" Cobra said grabbing her hand. Thorn struggled to get out of his grip. "enough or were not going to get you a pet" Wren warned coming out of the book shop. She sniffled pretending to cry. "Stop that right now, you're going to get us in trouble" Raven hissed. Thorns lip began to tremble,"And here come the waterworks" Barron sighed. Thorn was full on crying at this point. "Bloody hell, what happened hun what happened, come on you can tell big brother" a taller man with black hair stepped out of the store and hugged Thorn." What on earth did you guys do" he said glaring at the boys. "Basilisk we didn't do anything, she's obviously faking" Cobra stammered." Yeah, she started crying because we wouldn't take her to the pet store" Barron finished. "Enough, I don't want to hear anymore nonsense, she's ten of course she's going to bored of waiting" Basilisk said annoyed, Thorn still clinging to his leg. "Come love, we will go get your pet" Basilisk said taking her hand and leading her towards the shop. Thorn glanced over her shoulder and stuck her tongue at her other brothers before walking off. As soon as Thorn opened the shop door she was blasted with the smell of sugar cookie, a pleasant looking lady stood behind the counter."Hello dear, you must be here to pick out your first pet" she said smiling warmly. "Yes!" Thorn said excitedly. Basilisk cleared his throat "Have you thought about what you want" he asked curiously. Thorn thought for a minute. "I wanted a snake but I know those can be given to third years, so i'm not sure " she admitted. "Take you time" A pot bellied man said popping out of the backroom. Thorn took off to examine the store dragging Basilisk along with her. " No your not getting that one" Basilisk said sternly.Thorn who had been pointing to a large spider seemed disappointed moved on down the aisle. After look past the toads and the rats. Thorn spotted something curled up in a corner of a cage. Thorn was on the hunt for a pet, searching through the rows of furry critters. She had already seen toads and rats, but suddenly her eyes fell upon a ferret curled up in the corner of a cage. Her face lit up with excitement and she knew it was the one. She quickly grabbed the cage and brought it to the woman at the counter. "This one please," she said as she placed it on the counter. The woman smiled and nodded in approval. Thorn looked back at the ferret and thought about what to name it. "Slinky Binx" she said softly, as if she was making a promise. As she took her new pet ferret home, she heard the man from the back shout "Take care now!" Thorn waved goodbye, feeling grateful for her new pet ferret Slinky Binx and excited for their many adventures together.
