Fallout of the First Task
Dated October 27, 2022
Dear Aryaan,
I hope this letter finds you well. As your mother and a diplomat, I am writing to you with great disappointment and concern over the recent behavior of your team at the Hexwizard Tournament.
It is not uncommon for athletes to experience strong emotions during competition, but it is important to remember that as public figures, actions of your team have consequences and reflect not only on yourself, but also on your school, community, and country. The way the Mahoutokoro team has conducted itself during the event was completely unacceptable and your actions have caused embarrassment for both yourself and for those around you, despite your eventual victory.
I understand that you were taken in by the moment, but there are more appropriate ways to express yourself. Shouting and causing a scene on the field were unbecoming of a sportsman and reflect poorly on your character.
I expect better from you, Aryaan. You are a child no longer. As a representative of not only your school but the entire continent of Asia, it is important to remember that your actions have a ripple effect and can impact the reputation of those around you. I urge you to consider your actions more carefully in the future and to remember the responsibility that comes with being a public figure.
Sincerely,
Your Mother,
Neha Shamsi
