Interacting with @Hannah BlossomDora's heart sinks when it's announced that students will be paired up for a research essay. The lesson wrapped up early, and as such, the rest of class is to be used talking and planning with one's partner. As if the prospect of such a monumental assignment isn't intimidating enough, now there's the added stress of trying to get along with a total stranger. Maybe it was silly, but Dora had been hoping she'd be hidden in the back all year, nary called on or noticed.
She's supposed to work with a Hannah Blossom. The name is vaguely familiar, but Dora can't put her finger on where she's heard it before. Does she share another class with her? Or maybe it's the last name that's ringing some bells. Either way, Dora has trepidations about this assignment. She's used to studying on her own, with the exception of Tesla from time to time. But even with Tes, she sometimes feels like a bother when she has a question or correction.
As she waits anxiously for her partner to come over, she goes over the assignment in her head. They're to collaborate on a research essay about either Mercury, Venus, Earth, or Mars. They should be sure to include things learned in lessons, like orbital patterns, but they can also write about mythology, history, or other interesting facts about the planet. Dora decides she'll let Hannah pick. Maybe that will make an okay impression.

Astronomy… it was Hannah’s least favorite class, but it was something.
The sky was dark and the stars were visible, perfect for tonight’s Astronomy class.
The teacher had told her that she would be paring up for a project with a girl named Isadora Everridge. The name seemed a bit familiar, but just shrugged off and went to find her partner.
They needed an assignment about Mercury, Venus, Earth, or Mars. They needed be sure to include things learned in lessons, like orbital patterns, but they could also write about mythology, history, or other interesting facts about the planet.
Hannah liked Venus a lot, being the hottest planet, but first she needed to talk to her partner. Maybe earth was the easiest to do the assignment, so most people would pick it.
Hannah walked over to where this ‘Isadora’ girl was and introduced herself. ”Hello, my name is Hannah Blossom, as you may have been told already. Pleasure meeting you.” she thought about offering a hand to shake, but this was class! Surely not.
“So, Isadora, we should probably get on with the project. What planet do you think we should do the assignment on?” she asked with a bit of her Scottish accent brushing in.
This was a bit awkward, Hannah could’ve sworn to have seen Isadora somewhere. Maybe in another class? She felt tempted to ask, so she did.
“I’m sorry, have we met before? I could’ve sworn to have seen your face somewhere before. Was it in class or in the corridors?” or maybe out of Hogwarts. Yes, many students had met before coming to Hogwarts, so that thought kept occurring in Hannah’s head.

Interacting with @Hannah BlossomThe moment Hannah comes over and introduces herself, Dora remembers who she is. It may have been a while ago, but she remembers faces much better than names. The Blossoms held the annual Summer Ball in Scotland some years ago, and Dora's grandmother brought her along for the occasion. She remembers her grandmother speaking highly of the family's fortune, but lowly of their breeding. If Dora's not mistaken, the Blossoms have Veela blood.
Hannah and her are only briefly acquainted, and to be honest, Dora isn't sure Hannah very much liked her. She didn't say much to her, and then left to speak with other people. For some reason, Dora's anxious to be liked by her.
"How do you do?" She asks quietly, not quite making eye contact. Hannah sits down and begins talking about the essay, asking what planet they should write about. "I don't really have a preference." Dora replies, "Would you like to pick?" It doesn't make much difference to her, and she doesn't want to rudely take control of the project.
“I’m sorry, have we met before? I could’ve sworn to have seen your face somewhere before. Was it in class or in the corridors?”
"Um.." Dora says nervously. What if Hannah recognizes her and decides she doesn't like her? Dora decides to play dumb in a moment of panic. "I don't know."

Hannah had already sat down. She kept smiling, but she remembered the name from somewhere. Isadora Everridge. Ah yes, the annual Summer Ball. The Blossoms held it a few years ago and they briefly acquainted, she seemed like a nice person.
”I’m fine, how about you? she asked as soon as Isadora asked. Sure! How about Venus? she smiled as soon as she heard this girl speak.
Hannah’s straight hair was down, and her red locks looked even prettier at night. Of course she was only a quarter-Veela, but still, it seemed like she had Veela blood. Her family was pure-blooded, until her father met Hannah’s mother, and they had a child.
It seemed like Isadora, Dora was it the nickname? Dora seemed to not remember her, so Hannah continued like they hadn’t met before.
”So, Dora was it? Should we get started?
she started writing down in a piece of parchment. This wasn’t the essay, but what she knew about Venus, then she told Dora ”So, these are my notes on Venus. Ermm, what do you know about the planet?Venus, of course is the second planet from the Sun. It is sometimes called Earth's "sister" or "twin" planet as it is almost as large and has a similar composition. As an interior planet to Earth, Venus appears in Earth's sky never far from the Sun, either as morning star or evening star.

Interacting with @Hannah BlossomDora can't help feeling slightly relieved that Hannah doesn't seem to recognize her. Every time she's around family friends, she gets so anxious about them liking her. Maybe this is a chance to make a new first impression? She only hopes it will be a good one.
"I'm fine, thank you. Venus sounds perfect."
Upon the agreement of a planet, Dora opens her notes to what she's learned about it so far.
”So, Dora was it? Should we get started?"
She pauses at the nickname Hannah calls her. Truth be told, very few people call her Dora, her Uncle mainly. She always introduces herself by her proper name, the name her grandmother uses. Something about the familiarity of the nickname catches her off guard, makes her uncomfortable. "Er, yes." She says, realizing she hadn't answered the question.
Hannah shows some of her notes. "So, these are my notes on Venus. Ermm, what do you know about the planet?"
Reading off her own notes, Dora lists off some statistics. "Well, Venus is 0.7 astronomical units from the Sun, it has a 225 day orbital period, and it has a 243 day sidereal rotation in retrograde." Then, looking at the assignment guidelines again, she hesitantly brings up some of her own knowledge. "I know a bit about the mythology." One of the things she was tutored in before Hogwarts was Latin, and there were plenty of mythological stories she translated as practice. "So, if you wanted to, we could include some of it..."

Hannah observed as Isadora opened her notes. She grinned.
"I'm fine, thank you. Venus sounds perfect."
Hannah looked behind her. She always had the feeling she was being watched, but this time, she wasn't. The girl continued looking at Isadora. Her hair was as black as the night and her skin was pale.
"Well, Venus is 0.7 astronomical units from the Sun, it has a 225 day orbital period, and it has a 243 day sidereal rotation in retrograde." "I know a bit about the mythology." "So, if you wanted to, we could include some of it..."
Mythology? "Okay, mythology sounds nice, what do you know about the planet? she smiled. The girl wanted to ask thousands of questions to her like What's your blood status? Do you play any sports? Is Astronomy your favorite class? finally a question which Hannah could ask, it was related to class anyway.
"Is astronomy your favorite class?" it sure wasn't Hannah's. But continuing, Hannah was looking at what Isadora had jotted down, it was what she had just said.
The girl didn't pay much attention in this class, so she only knew a little of it. Astronomy was her mother's favorite class, and she told Hannah that she would love it too: she certainly did not. It was boring and learning about the planets? It was useless. Hannah knew she wanted to be an Auror when she was older, meaning she would drop Astronomy.
Apart from that, she was a first year so she had to attend this class, being a first year.

Interacting with @Hannah BlossomDora pauses, surprised her suggestion is being taken seriously. It may be awkward how long it takes to get her words together. "Right, okay, so... Venus is named after a Roman Goddess. She's the goddess of love and beauty. But, in Ancient Rome, it was known by two names, Lucifer and Vesper. That's because it used to be considered two separate celestial bodies, but by that point it was recognized as one planet, just with two names for morning and evening." Not sure how much detail Hannah is actually interested in, she continues hesitantly. "It's ironic, how Venus is associated with love and beauty. In mythology the goddess could actually be quite cruel and jealous, caring about her looks more than anything. That's how a lot of Roman gods were, they didn't actually care about mortals."
Is she saying too much? She feels like she's talking too much. She's barely done when Hannah asks her another question, like it's bursting out of her.
"Is astronomy your favorite class?"
"I don't know." She answers honestly. Dora doesn't know if she has a favorite class. "It's interesting. Do... you like Astronomy?" The social interaction comes awkwardly, Dora not very good with small talk and all. "What's your favorite class?"

Hannah smiled faintly as she listened. Then she remembered something "Isn't Venus also Aphrodite?" they both sounded similar, but Hannah did not learn much about Greek Mythology or Roman, or any mythology at all.
"Yes, it's a bit ironic isn't it? I mean isn't Mars the god of war? I think he hated mortals, but I don't actually know much about Mythology."
Then the conversation turned into an awkward situation. She asked Hannah if she liked Astronomy. "Yeah... kind of. It's interesting. she lied, the girl absolutely hated the subject. I actually think it's the most boring thing ever, but I can't tell Isadora that.
"My favorite class? It's probably charms or flying." she crossed her legs. "What's your least favorite class?" she noticed Isadora was a bit nervous.
"Maybe we should continue with the project." "An interesting fact about Venus is that it has the most circular orbit of any planet in the Solar System. Venus does not experience any seasons because of its limited axial tilt of just 3 degrees. Venus, like Mercury, is a terrestrial planet...Venus has mountains, valleys and hundreds of volcanoes."
Then, she grabbed the small parchment and wrote down what she just had said. She was nervous not knowing what to say.
"I'm sorry, do you know the time?" her watch was left in the common room, and she forgot to grab it when she left, so she was left with no watch.
The stars were beaultiful tonight and the sky wasn't very dark, Hannah thought it was very pretty.
Never mind, she was too carried away, back to the project. So, what else should we include?"
It didn’t matter, class was basically over.
”Maybe we could finish the project somewhere else?” “I mean class is almost over.” She said smiling. The deadline was next class, but they still had some time.
“I hope to see you again Isadora Everridge.”

Interacting with @Hannah Blossom"Yes, Aphrodite is Venus' Greek name." Dora answers, glad she isn't having a one-sided conversation and Hannah seems a bit interested. "As for Mars, I don't know if he hated mortals. He liked their wars, but didn't really seem to care much about them.."
The discussion takes an awkward turn when Dora asks Hannah if she likes Astronomy. Despite her answer, Dora can't help but feel like she's touched on a sore subject. Hannah seems to like talking about other classes anyways. "My favorite class? It's probably charms or flying. What's your least favorite class?"
"Um..." Dora thinks. "Maybe Defense Against the Dark Arts?" Some of the subject matter in that class genuinely bothers her. Maybe she looks uncomfortable thinking about it, because Hannah changes the subject back to their essay. "An interesting fact about Venus is that..."
They work together for a bit, writing down whatever information they want to include. Dora's trying to organize it when Hannah asks for the time. Dora pulls out the silver pocket watch she uses to keep track of time when she's studying. The time surprises her as she shows it to Hannah. "Later than I thought. Class is nearly over."
"So, what else should we include?"
"Hmm." Dora looks at her paper, "I think we have everything important. We just need to organize it into parts." She hesitates. "Er, do you want to... perhaps, continue this another day?"
”Maybe we could finish the project somewhere else? I mean class is almost over.”
The library's quiet." She's right, there's not much they can do before it's time to go, anyways. Working with Hannah hasn't been too bad. Dora's grateful she was teamed up with someone nice, and that she was able to start over with her. If they see each other at the next Summer Ball, hopefully Hannah will have okay memories of Dora.
“I hope to see you again Isadora Everridge.”
"You too." Dora replies quietly, genuinely.
