At Fainauriel's Office

Celynne will appear in this thread later on, that may take a while.

Thurston sighed as he walked through the dungeon. It was afternoon, so his colleague should not have any more lessons now. It still was strange, the other named him by his first name so…. was he supposed to do the same? Thurston was not really sure about it, he would have to wait for the other to act. Maybe it was a one time thing and they were back to last names now? He just shook his head, slightly confused by all this. It had been a while when he had the trouble of getting closer than acquainted with someone.

He reached the door at the dungeon’s floor and stood still. He raised his hand and halted without knocking on it. He just waited a bit until he noticed how stupid he was acting and then knocked at the door. Maybe he wasn't even there and he was making a fool out himself. Why he was there? When he noticed the Potioneer’s fury about the loss of that one bottle of dried billywig stings he just remembered a store in the Knockturn Alley. An alley that was probably too filthy for the half elf. But then again, Thurston didn't need much money and he would make the Potioneer waste ingredients for his Wolfsbane Potion. So he could at least do him some favours.

Sometimes I question the choices I make. Never in serious obloquy, of course, but silently, where none could see my thoughts conveyed through silent rumination. The imbroglio of a confrontation days prior was one such questionable decision I had made in my lifetime, chasing those common thugs like some classless wight. Pridian choices made mattered nought, for today is a new day, and I could look forward to new things that did not involve subjecting my glistering eyes to enduring anything that was lacking beauty. Perhaps a quiet moment alone in my office surrounded by nothing but work? Alas, even that is ephemeron, as the soft rap on the door jarred me from my thoughts and my body ambled ineluctably toward the door. With a gentle pull, I now stood vis-à-vis with one Thurston Barclay, wandering thoughts begging the question my lips felt it prudent to ask. "To what do I owe the pleasure?" Even as I asked, the glib smile that graced my lips served as an invitation, and my gesture to step aside and motion into the room with my hand drove the point home.

As gently as I had opened it, I shut the door behind him and walked past on the way to the front of the classroom, rearranging the stacks of turned in assignments that rested atop my desk. While I busied myself, I glance at the man through half-lidded eyes, sizing him up in an attempt to glean some basic precognizance as to why he was here. Now. So suddenly visiting out of the blue. I could think of two instances that seemed a plausible guess. "Mr. Barclay..." I inclined my head in such a manner as to look at him fully from my half-bent position, making direct eye contact as I addressed him by his family cognomen. "Have you come so we may engage in yet another round of repartee? I warn you, this is a game I have never lost. As you may have already hazarded, I am quite voluble, adroitly so." An attempt to 'break the ice', if one will. It is my hope that Mr. Barclay will see fit to state his business and leave the way he came. Though I had enjoyed his company before, I now admit that I might have been a bit previous in extending such an invitation. What had possessed me?

Finished with the organizing, I courteously invited Mr. Barclay to have a seat in one of the many chairs that neatly lined the classroom. I did something uncharacteristic and folded my arms as I leaned against the edge of the desk, looking directly at the man.
