Accidental Acquaintance
Ann was staying for the Christmas Holidays, however this was entirely her choice. She couldn’t allow herself to leave before getting to grips with some of the spells she had learnt in Charms Class. This led her to find a place to study.
The snow cracked and crunched under her feet, every flake that fell was as white as bone, and the Lake was completely frozen over. Several students littered the lawn beside it and Ann strode over to a reasonably empty space underneath a large oak tree, sliding her winter cloak from her shoulders and placing it on top of a thick white layer which blanketed the earth, the book which she had be carrying made to rest on this.
She produced her wand from an inner pocket and made a flicking motion, drawing her hand to the left - The Standard Book of Spells had opened and the pages were turning. 24… 26 …. 28. Page 28. The drawings were intricate and explanative and she couldn’t help but to pause and analyse each etch on the paper.
She was allowing herself time to catch up on some charms work, her wrist rotating at strange angles in order to produce the perfect flick for her spells.
