Ah yes, dissociation. At least they didn't get hit this round. A nice peaceful round of them healing up and Dori standing there looking... a tad gone. When they saw Dee shrug at Callie, they decided to give a thumbs up of reassurance to the both of them. To show they were- doing good? What a time to be alive.

After utilizing the effects of the healing charm, Ravenclaw switched back into offense mode. Dealla successfully landed a considerable Ventus, while Callie covered their lone opponent in raging flames. Even through such a brutal elemental attack, Dorion wasn't about to give up. With a quick cast of Flipendo, they were able to let off two forceful projectiles and was just able to land one.

Call the Hufflepuffs anything under the sun, but you can never say they weren't fighters.

Dmitri raised an eyebrow in confused approval.

[Spectator Thread, Day 1: Morning]

Dorion gave her a thumbsup, which was even odder somehow, and Dee gave them a somewhat confused smile in return. She felt almost tempted to tell them to hang in there, but she was going to fire another spell at them in a moment, so that seemed a little out of place. What in Merlin's name was happening.

Swallowing the misplaced encouragement, Dee instead once again swung her wand, summoning another blast of wind. She took a little hop to the left to escape the attack Dorion sent at her in return, then a step to the right to reposition herself on the piste. Maybe they could wrap this up soon.

A…a thumbs up? Maybe everything hit Dorion a little harder than Callie originally thought. Hopefully the damage wasn’t too permanent. Probably. Maybe. Argh! Darn you moral compass! Always getting in the way of a perfectly good duel.Thankfully it wasn’t too long until Callie was back to her usual accidental war crime self. Mortality be damned!

A hit! Their spell spread was still pretty hit or miss (hah, ironic) but a 50% hit was good enough for them. Especially as they felt a jolt of wind hit their chest, and flames start licking at their robes. The thought of forfeiting lingered in their mind, but they didn't want to go out without a fight. Every duel. Every loss. No one could say Dorion didn't try.

Things were just getting steadily worse for Dorion. The best they could really do was put out the fire eating at their robes. That was something, at least. Not being on fire was nice! Most Hogwarts students could attest to that from personal experience.

Another win for Dorion: the Ravenclaws fumbled half of their attack. Dealla's spell was strongly cast, but horribly aimed, and veered off towards Callie, who was luckily able to dodge. It would have been unfortunate, perhaps even frustrating, to deal the blows that risked their advantage.

What was not as much of a win for Dorion was Callie's spell. Despite the stress of being accidentally targeted by a teammate, she managed to keep her cool and shoot off her own Flipendo, which travelled with far more accuracy. It hit Dorion in the shoulder, and definitely looked like it hurt.

At least she wasn’t the one missing her target this time! Even if that was too much of a close call for Callie. Part of her even felt guilty for the hit to the shoulder but she very quickly abandoned that tiny shred of guilt to the possibility of winning.Who needs morality anyway?

Apparently Dee had been putting too much focus on her casting and not enough on willing the spell where it was meant to go. The execution of the knockback jinx was near perfect - not quite, but acceptably close - but it had barely left her wand before she completely lost control of its direction, and it swerved off to the side, towards Callie. "Shit, sorry! I'm sorry!" she called over to her partner before taking a deep breath, trying to collect her focus. They had this duel in hand, but not if she accidentally started hitting Callie instead.

Dori quickly put out the flames with a well executed extinguishing charm. This Hufflepuff would not burn today. Dee accidentally sent a spell towards Callie which Dori couldn't help but frown at, they had seen it happen plenty and it was never a pleasant experience to see your spell redirect to your partner. It was only a momentary frown as they were hit with a knockback jinx, leaving them breathless for a moment. These two were incredibly duellists, and they were honored to fight and stand against them.
