To Leeds! dec. 23, ‘22

When Taisia had gotten home, she’d found most of the house packed up in boxes. Before she could even question it, her mum had sat her down, on the couch. The two of them stood in front of her, looking nervous. Tai promised herself that whatever she said, she’d put on a happy face. She still felt bad about the divorce. It wasn’t Elidine’s fault that her husband had cheated on her. For 10 years.

“Honey? We’ve decided to move.”
There was silence until Taisia gave a tentative, “Where?”
“Leeds.”
Taisia wasn’t a geographical genius but she knew that Leeds was no where near where they lived.
“Leeds is nice…” Althea piped in.
Taisia nodded in agreement, “Are we supposed to be leaving today?”
“Mum has already visited it and most of our stuff is there.”
“In other words, yes, we’re leaving today. But Althea hasn’t seen it either, so don’t worry!”
They were both trying to sound light hearted. But Tai had already decided to accept it. With a grin and a smile she replied with, “Let’s go! My stuff is mostly in my trunk so it won’t take me long to pack.”

Althea’s new room was roughly the same size as Tai’s. But after they had decorated it, it would look a lot different. Their rooms were neighbouring, and aside from the bathroom, took over the entire third floor. The sisters were hanging out together, Taisia filling Althea in on what she had been doing at Hogwarts. If corse they had kept letter correspondence, but it was better to recount in person. Althea’s brow furrowed as she heard of Taisia’s many, many trips to the Library, or how she sat holed up in her room for hours on end. She interrupted Tai’s story to speak. “Tai. I think you need to get out a bit more. Do something crazy. See how you like it. If you absolutely hate it, go back to your crazy study schedule. But please, have some fun.” Taisia retorted with something about how she liked studying, but Thea shut her down saying, “Maybe you like it because you’ve never experienced anything else. I watched you at home for years, always studying. I never said anything because pretty much the only other thing you could do was hang out with Odelia and I, which we always did.” Tai gave a short, “Fine. I’ll think about it,” and the two left the room, answering their mother’s calls.
