Letting Go of An Old Friend Solo Finished

Verla sobbed silently as she knew what she had to do, for the last time. She walked down the trail to the Great Lake, and made her way to the forest. She looked at the bowtruckle in her hands and spoke to him softly "you know the best is all I want for you little guy, but letting you go, it is what's best, for both of us. You can grow to live on your own, and I can grow into a wiser person because of the adventures we've had. I can grow into someone who knows what it's like to have such a companion such as you Oliver." She softly told the Bowtruckle. "This will be the last time you will ever see me Oliver, and just know, that I could never, ever, replace such a wonderful companion like you Oliver. If one of my professors help me, I might be able to get you back. So bear with me little guy, please." Verla's words stung both of them. Oliver hated the idea of being replaced by some cat.

Verla sobbed out loud to her self in a ball, she needed one of her friends with her, but she didn't have many, and Elena was busy. Rosie Turner and Howard were together as far as she knew, so they had each other and didn't need her. But letting go of her best friend was what she needed to do alone.

She sat down on her knees in front of the tree she'd put him in front of last time. That was his tree, and every other bowtruckle knew it.

She put the sad looking bowtruckle on the tree trunk, into a hole where he'd made his home and stood up. He jumped on her and gave her one last hug. A tear trickled down each of her cheeks, followed by more. She'd never been more depressed in her life, even when her parents gave her away just the beginning of the year. She couldn't do this. So she stood up, and began to away, crying.

"What cannot be seen, felt, or carried?" Person who gets this right I will donate some money to them.
