Victory's Feast
She/TheyStill riding the high of their first quidditch win, Pax had wanted to do something to celebrate. Nothing overly difficult, but something out of the ordinary to commemorate the occasion. After they'd emerged victorious, they had looked up to see their newfound friend Kim in the stands, and remembered the deal they'd made to actually cook him something this time around. Something not overly difficult, check. Something to celebrate the occasion, check. It seemed perfect.
Arms full of bundles of bags of food, Pax made their way to the campgrounds. They figured they'd go for a meal that their family commonly ate for celebratory moments. After all, if they were back at home, this would definitely be a moment to celebrate. Not-so-carefully dropping all the stuff that their mum had sent over with their poor family owl, they grabbed what they'd need to set up for a barbeque situation, acknowledging Kim with a small head nod.
"Sup? We're gonna have a barbeque. Can you help move the tupperware? Thanks."
Straight to business (Quidditch was guaranteed to make a person hungry), they quickly fetched some fire and an open-fire grill before returning to the campfire and beginning to light a fire (without magic). To give Kim the full barbeque experience, they were going to do it the muggle way.Reducio

| ─── | Kim had gotten roped into this.
By Pax. Regarding going to see a quidditch match, despite his aversion to go near anything with brooms. Somehow, Pax had managed to convince him to come to support her, stating that she had no one to cheer for her. Ah, yes. That had been a lie, she'd had a few people who had specifically come to support her. But Kim didn't really hold it against her. After all, he'd been able to make a good connection because he'd come. He'd run into Sophia, which was always nice. That is, when she wasn't trying to steal all the candy from his pockets and his satchel, and he loved to tease her all the time. She made such a fun target for him to go after! He'd also developed a better relationship with Valentin and even gotten his address. So really, Kim needed to thank Pax for making him come out. Maybe watching quidditch matches wasn't bad, as long as they didn't force him to go out onto the field and touch a broom. Kim had gone to meet Pax directly after the match had ended and the two had ended up deciding to celebrate her win directly after she was done saying bye to her teammates. Pax had said she wanted to surprise Kim with something to celebrate her first quidditch victory. She'd told him to meet her at the campgrounds. While she got things together and Kim had agreed but made a quick stop at the dorms to change clothes. He didn't want to eat in his Gryffindor robes, they might get dirty and he didn't want to have to wash them before classes. Quickly choosing an outfit to wear, Kim headed over to the aforementioned location to see if Pax had arrived before him. Nope. Humming to himself while waiting, Kim randomly started to sing to himself as he waited for the time to pass. He got out his sketchbook and then started to sketch the landscape. A yawn escaped his lips as Kim finished the sketch of trees, bushes, the main clearing and the campgrounds. Kim was now wearing a white shirt with black design splotches all over, pastel blue pants and windbreaker and a pair of black and white sneakers. He also had donned a pair of black and white sunglasses and was wearing some silver accessories too. Currently, the sunglasses were propped up on top of his head, as he needed to see his sketch clearly as he drew. Maybe he'd draw Pax into the picture and give this to her as a congratulatory gift when she came. Kim started to sketch the outline of his friend onto his landscape sketch. Once the outline was done, Kim started to fill in the tiny details. Soon, the drawing was done and it was a pretty nice one too. Very realistic and detailed for a drawing. Kim could probably have made a living doing this if he'd wanted to pursue this avenue. But he preferred it more as a hobby than a career, something he'd told a Slytherin before when asked that question. Kim rolled the drawing up into what resembled a tube and waited for Pax to return. When they finally arrived, the purple haired boy gave them a slight smirle combination of a smile and smirk and set the tube down beside him. He reached over to take the tupperware containers from Pax to help out. "Ready to eat?" Kim asked. |

Victory's Feast
They/She"More than ready, you have no idea how fricking hungry I am." Pax laughed along as they stepped back from the fire, letting flames spring up into the air.
"We're doing this the muggle way, by the way. It's how we always did it at home, so I wouldn't know how to any other way. I hope you're good with that."
Regardless of what Kim would say, Pax continued on. If he chose to get up and leave, they'd continue on their own. More food for them in the end. And, as long as they didn't mess everything up, it would be good food Kim'd be missing out on.
Carefully, they placed the grill over the fire to let it warm before properly examining what their mother had kindly sent over. Marinated pork, some rice to boil -they'd need a pot for that, they'd better not forget that-and some various vegetables. Pax grinned. "Nice."
After fetching the needed pot for the rice, they lay out the plastic bags on the ground to put the utensils on, before taking a seat next to Kim, peering over his shoulder.
"Whatcha drawing? Looks really good- hold up is that me? Ha, damn, that's so cool! You didn't tell me you could draw- hey! You should draw the both of us!"Reducio

| ─── | It was nice.
To be able to just relax and not have to think about anything or come up with conversation starters. After all, it wasn't as if Kim was trying to impress someone right now. Pax had invited him there to unwind and have some food with them. So it shouldn't be stressful at all, right? They would just be alone. That was the best thing Kim could think of, not having to deal with crowds or needing to keep on top of things. It wasn't a group, it wasn't a club, it wasn't a class and it wasn't a wizard sport. The purple haired boy closed his blue eyes for a brief moment and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. Not to mention the fresh air around... The quietness was broken when Pax spoke again. Kim opened his eyes and nodded when Pax referred to cooking the meal in a muggle way, rather than with spells. Well, he tended to cook and bake in both ways, depending on how much time he tended to have. Today was going to hopefully be a relaxed and chill afternoon and it wasn't as if he had anywhere to go. As Pax put the food on to cook, Kim's fingers itched to help out but he resisted the urge. Pax had been the one to say they would be cooking the food themselves!!!!! If Kim helped out, it wouldn't be the same. He watched as Pax bustled about and got things ready. After awhile, Pax came over to take a small break. They came over to where he was currently seated and Kim reached down to pick up the rolled up drawing he'd done of Pax. "Here. A congratulatory gift for your win." Kim told him and waited to see what Pax would think of the homemade gift. He'd done his best to sketch Pax into the scene, happily eating campfire food, while their broom lay beside them. A few other people were also drawn into the scene, Pax's teammates. They were eating and had smiles on their faces. It was a fun quidditch victory camping party!!! |

She/TheyPax grinned as Kim passed them a drawing he'd done himself, admiring the craftmanship and effort he'd put into it. It was clearly thought out, with them enjoying what they'd hopefully be able to recreate and make with their teammates. Somehow, they could even sense the camaraderie through the art, which they took to consider great work.
"Damn, that's really cool Kim. But it looks like you may have missed yourself out."
They resisted the urge to grab a pencil and add Kim into the drawing (probably ruining it in the process), which they'd have done if it had been something one of their brothers had drawn it. But Kim had put a lot of effort into this, and they didn't want to offend a new friend.
After the water seemed to reach boiling, they emptied the container of rice into it and let it cook as they transferred the meat onto the grill. Instead of heading back over to Kim this time, they stuck around the food, not wanting it to burn or taste horrible. If it was just them, they'd stomach it, but they wanted to impress.
It took about ten, maybe fifteen minutes total for everything to be cooked and plated. Rice was stirred and seasoned, meat nicely grilled, vegetables cooked thoroughly, before everything being (somewhat messily) plated. Rice first, then several pieces of meat, and veggies on the side, before being offered to Kim. Once everything was put away and the fire a lot smaller, a small bowl of soy sauce was laid next to him as Pax took a seat the other side, pouring some water into glasses for them both.
"Cheers! Hope you like it!" They cheered, raising their glass with a smile.Reducio

| ─── | Ah, right.
Kim had forgotten to include himself into the sketch but it wasn't as if he was that important, so it was fine. "Right, I forgot, next time I'll add myself to a sketch I give you!" He told him with a slight smile. Once the food was done cooking, Kim started to eat with Pax, chewing each bit as the two enjoyed their meal together. "Thank you for the food." The purple-head murmured and let his eyes linger on Pax every now and then as he ate. "What made you want to join the quidditch team?" Kim asked, curious. Could Pax have always had an interest in quidditch?? Or had Pax just wanted to join a wizard sport at the castle??? Kim continued to eat, taking his time to chew each piece, as he waited for Pax's response. Even though he wasn't rushing, Kim had other things he needed to do later that night too. Such as doing 'homework' for his clubs. He was in charge of a good deal of clubs and had to figure out 'lesson plans' for each of them. So, he couldn't spend too much time with Pax. But Pax had only wanted him to come eat with them. Therefore, he didn't think it would take too much time. Plus, it was food, he had to eat, so might as well eat with Pax now. He reached out to pick up a glass and sipped it. Placing it down again, Kim looked over at Pax, wondering what their reply would be to his earlier question. |

Victory's Feast
She/TheyPax was glad to see Kim enjoying their food (or at least so it seemed). Whilst they never considered themselves a particularly good cook, it was always comforting to see others tucking in whenever they had served something.
Kim's question couldn't help but bring a smile to their face - quidditch was just one of those topics for them that they could talk endlessly about, despite how cheesy it sounded. "Well, my dad wanted to make sure we were all aware of magic from an early age, and that included flying on a broom - though never that high, he was always very careful about that. And, well, first time I flew I fell in love with it. My father was always more of a quidditch person, so in our household we grew up with that, so I guess it was only a matter of time before I found myself wanting to play the sport. When I got here, I didn't think there was anything else I could do but apply for the team. I guess I'm lucky enough that I was able to get in."
The sky had begun to ever so slightly darken over the horizon, and as much fun as this had been, Pax could tell it was nearly time to head back. As they finished up, they proposed one final question to Kim.
"I know you run a bunch of different clubs as well though, and that must keep you busy, but what made you want to do that in the first place? Too many interests and didn't know which one to pick?" They ended with a joke and smile.Reducio

| ─── | As Pax spoke, Kim listened to them.
It was relaxing hearing Pax speak and he nodded here and there as they spoke about flying on a broom. He couldn't really relate to this, not when it came to brooms and flying, his trauma ran deep when it came to heights. But Kim likened Pax's interest in brooms and flying with his own with plants and animals. Not to mention his passion when it came to cooking and baking items. He also enjoyed singing and dancing a lot too, not that anyone knew about this. It was more like a guilty, secret pleasure because he didn't think he was too good at it. Kim really had many interests, which showed in the number of clubs he'd joined this year. Or taken over, started, and co-ran with @Bailey Glade. He really had a lot on his plate but was determined to be able to keep up with it all. There were others depending on him and he wouldn't let them down. As for dueling, he'd always had an interest in it, but at the moment wasn't confident enough to try out for the team right now. Kim wanted to learn more spells and practice them a bit longer before applying for a position. After all, he was a perfectionist. Being part of the official team roster for dueling when he wasn't confident... ...well, that was suicide. It would be worse if he was part of the team and was the reason why they lost, vs not being on the team at all. Pax's words about how his dad was a quidditch fan made Kim's lips twitch. Their fathers were quite alike. Kim's father, Hiro, was also much the same. Valentin (@Aida Mòrsgor-Ama Ellwood) was one of his favorite players. Kim didn't pay much attention to quidditch though, despite his father's interest in it. He preferred to stay away from all things relating to flying, if at all possible.... "You think you'll do it even after you graduate? Or are you planning on just doing it while you're at Hogwarts?" Kim asked, curious. He looked up at the sky, which had suddenly become dark out of nowhere, and reached up to tuck a strand of purple hair behind one of his ears. "Wow, didn't realize so much time had already passed, time seems to fly sometimes." Kim remarked and thought for a moment about Pax's question about all his clubs. "I don't know. I didn't intend on joining any clubs during my first year. But it just sort of happened... I can't really explain it. I do have many interests and like learning things too." Kim told Pax. "It's one of the reasons why I thought I'd get into Ravenclaw at first. But 'this' happened." He said, gesturing at himself. "You? Did you think you were going to get into Gryffindor at first?" Kim asked, curious. "It's getting a little late and I still have to do some planning for my clubs tonight, so I have to head out in a few minutes. You need help cleaning up?" He glanced over at Pax to see what they would say in response. "Thanks again for the meal, it was delicious. We should do it again sometime in the future." Kim added. All in all, it hadn't been bad and he'd felt comfortable. |

Victory's Feast
She/TheyThere was a moment of silence as Kim seemed deep in a series of thoughts, before he asked his next few questions.
"If I'm lucky enough to, yeah, I'd love to continue. I know I'm only in my first year, but honestly I don't really know what else I'd even want to do when I'm older. It's just what I love to do. I can't imagine myself losing interest in it anytime soon either."
Letting Kim share about his interests only seemed fair enough, after all they'd been talking about themselves and quidditch for what felt like most of the conversation.
"Some things that just sorta happen can be some of the best things," they commented, hoping their words might bring some comfort, as Kim's own words seemed sadder than before. "And it's great to have a range of interests. You get too focused on just the one thing, it can lead you to spiral. Or at least so I've heard."
"This? You say that like it's a bad thing to be in Gryffindor," they replied, feigning indignance. "What's wrong with the lions? And, yeah, I guess I subconsciously always saw myself as a Gryffindor myself. Don't know where else I'd be, to be honest."
They smiled, nodding as Kim explained his need to leave. "I think I'll manage cleaning up, but I appreciate the offer. You head back. I'm glad you liked the food though. Maybe next time, you can cook for me."
With a grin, they let Kim head back to the castle as they finished cleaning up and gathering their stuff, before following him back. It had been a good day.Reducio
