Birdie stood outside of the house, which was not so far off from the Leaky Cauldron. In fact, it was right down the street. “Here we are!” She smiled, looking at the small house. “It’s way bigger on the inside, so you might want to stay close to me in case you get lost.” She opened the door to an elegant mansion.

OOC: it looks like a well-kept, magical version of the first mansion in Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon if you want visuals. And it doesn’t have a spider queen and her million children living in the basement. (note: The mudroom and the mudroom ext. have swapped places and become the kids’ room and the garden.)
The chandelier on the ceiling shone with brilliant diamond lights. The floor was so clean one could see their own reflection. Suits of armor guarded the large central door. “This way.” She opened the door to an elegant bedroom with a drape-covered full-size bed, a toybox full of stuffed animals, a large, white grand piano, and a huge bookshelf filled to the brim with all sorts of books. A huge rug with ornate pictures of birds decorating it covered the honey-colored wooden floor. The ceiling matched the rug’s design, but on a larger scale. Another chandelier hung from the ceiling, this time with wooden birds flitting around it like a baby’s mobile. Another full-sized bed with light blue sheets lay off to the side, obviously untouched. 5 bird-free bird cages lay off to the side. Birdie paid no mind to any of this, except for the bird cages, which she grabbed baggies out of. Instead, she rushed straight ahead to another door. “This is the garden. Most of the birds stay out here.” She smiled as she opened the door, eager to see her birds again. “I’m back!” She called to the zoo of birds perched on wooden rafters and sat on the rims of elegant benches. They were everywhere, on the fountain, on the rims of hanging flower pots, on the birdhouses that lined the walls. As soon as she walked in, a tiny chick hopped to her feet. “Hey, Scraps!” She chirped, squatting down to get closer. “You should really be with your mother.” She placed the sun-colored chick by a hen’s side. “Hello, Marigold.” she cooed, turning back to Amaya. “Here.” She gave her a bag. “It’s the seeds. Just scatter them on the ground. They’ll grow to trust you.” She went back to greeting the different birds and feeding them a bit. There were many of them, mostly songbirds. Loud and quiet coos filled the garden. A band of chicks hopped up to Amaya’s feet, chirping happily. The mother hen, Marigold, watched warily from her nest, ready to make a move should the girl hurt her babies.

OOC: Your comparisons though... XD

Amaya gaped in shock. Not quite at the beautiful mansion, full of things that made it sparkle with personality and make it feel warmer, somehow, but at the birds that Birdie had led her to.

"Alright, thank you!", Amaya smiled, quickly pushing away her shock. Tentatively grabbing the bag, she lightly scattered some around her, and murmured softly to the chicks surrounding her, laughing as they pecked at the floor, and Amaya fell to a crouch, eventually sitting.

"They definitely win the award for the cutest chicks in the world...," Amaya laughed, pausing when a chick hopped onto her hand. Slowly reaching into the bag with her free hand, she fed the chick, ever-so-careful to keep a tight enough grip on the seeds so that it wouldn't fall, but would be easy to take, leaving plenty of space for the chick to grab the seeds. She cooed at the chick, doing everything she could to resist reaching out and smothering the poor chick with fingers and soft strokes.

Amaya paused, looking up from the chick to examine Birdie's garden once more. It whispered of comfort, soothing her and making her smile. It was neat and tidy, perfect to the point that it looked like it came from a movie. Glancing back down at the chick in her hand, she moved it up towards her face, murmuring at the chick, amused when the chick lightly pecked her nose. Bringing her hand down ever so slightly, she offered the chick her shoulder, smiling when it took it's perch there after a moment of wariness.

Birdie sat down next to Amaya. “I see you’ve taken a liking to Sunflower.” She giggled. “They really are cute, aren’t they? Scraps is the male chick with the messy fluff and Lemonade is the female chick with the tiny baby blue bow on her head.” She gave each of the chicks a gentle stroke with her finger. “And Marigold’s the hen that’s glaring at you over there.” She pointed to the wary hen sitting in her nest. “She gets a tad defensive, but as long as you don’t hurt the chicks, she’ll leave you alone. But the chicks aren’t the reason I brought you here. This is.” With that, she whistled a bit of Fur Elise. The songbirds separated into four groups, a group on each wall. Every other type of bird remained quiet, except for the chicks, who had not been trained yet. The choir started singing Fur Elise, with Birdie conducting them. It seemed surreal, like something that came out of a dream. Each bird had their own specific part to sing, and they nailed the entire thing. When the song was finished, Birdie clapped and spread sunflower seeds on the floor, which the birds promptly gobbled up. “Good job, everybody!” She chirped. “What do you think, Amaya?”

Amaya was at a loss for words. The silent elegance of it all, each chirp organized and contributing to the entire piece, was beautiful. There were no words that could truly describe it, and Amaya could only gaze at Birdie in wonder, breathless.

“That... That was...,” Amaya trailed off, instead, settling for erupting into claps, hoping her wide smile spoke the words she couldn’t for her.

“I can’t wait to see more of their pieces! How many have you taught them?” Amaya gushed, surprised by how well-trained the song-birds were. “And how long did it take to train them? I think that you could hold concerts at Hogwarts! It’ll be reallllyyyyy cool, and I think that the headmasters and such must let you bring some of your birds! I think it would be quite a crime otherwise!”

Amaya grinned. “Did you train only the songbirds? I don’t mean by singing, but... more... in general?”

Amaya cursed her awkwardness, which was currently creeping up and probably laughing evilly at her.

Amaya cursed clichés as well, now distracted by the thoughts of villainous laughter rolling around the place, and a (faceless) villain with their back towards her in that cliché pose. Amaya had to keep herself from laughing, and refocused on Birdie.

Birdie grinned ear-to-ear. "Thank you, thank you!" She bowed, pretending to be an actual performer. "I've only taught them a few of the songs that I know on the piano, so not many. About 14 songs so far. And it takes about two or three months to get it perfectly like that. And I've trained the other birds too, not just to be quiet while the songbirds sing. Watch this!" Birdie whistled a simple, four note tune. Almost immediately, a screech owl soared down from a window on a higher floor and landed gracefully on Birdie's outstretched arm. "Hiya, Marion." She cooed for a moment before whistling the tune again. Marion soared up into the air and did a few loop-de-loops in the air before perching on Birdie's arm again. "I teach them simple aerial tricks." She stated, feeding Marion a small mouse from her baggie. After the snack, Marion cooed and flew back up to the room. "It took me FOREVER to teach him that. I taught some of the songbirds that too. But I leave Marigold and her chicks alone for the most part. The chicks are too young for that sort of thing, and Marigold spends most of her time taking care of them. Not to mention, chickens aren't really made for that sort of thing." She paused for a moment, seeing Amaya trying not to laugh. "What's so funny?"

Amaya grinned back. “Imagine pranking people with a army of chickens! Or even a army of owls! Though... chickens would be funnier...”

She made a couple of hand gestures, her voice picking up speed as it went, the excitement positively dripping through each of her words.

It was a wonder anyone could understand her.

“They could be just strutting down the hall, looking reaaallly cool and all, like the coolest chickens in the world, and suddenly, a selected person — or should I say... victim! —is attacked with light pecks! I’m pretty sure it would be enough to give them a life-long fright of chickens..., Nah, it should definitely be enough to give them a life-long fright.” Amaya smiled mischeiviohsly, evil written all over her face.

Thaaaattt.....

Was probably how she got into Slytherin.

It was rare for her to get mischievous (read: barely ever), but she could already fantasize the people screaming as soon as a chicken came into view, and her smile grew even wider, if that was possible.

Then she seemed to remember how the person she was with wasn’t a Slytherin, and merely settled for a wicked, wicked grin, keeping her plans to herself.

She could already feel the fear!

She couldn’t take it anymore. Amaya burst into evil, villainous laughter, sounding quite like it came straight out of a cliché Disney movie.

As Amaya burst into her evil cackles, Birdie started laughing too. "That would be amazing!" She choked out in between giggles. "And then, when... when we've inspired a castle-wide fear of poul- poultry, we could start creating illusions that look like chickens! And... and give people heart attacks!" If you've ever had friends that you like, you'll know that it is very, very hard to talk while laughing. "I- I can't breathe..." She gasped. It took her a few moments to calm down. "Just the thought of something as (normally) harmless as a chicken striking fear into the hearts of trained magic users is hilarious!" A little starling landed on Birdie's shoulder and let out a quiet coo. "I'm okay, Bowie." She reassured the dark, colorful bird. "I'm not dying yet..." Bowie nodded and flew off to the rafters again. She turned to Amaya. Sunflower, still perched on her shoulder, seemed terrified. "Oh, poor thing..." She murmured, gently pet the yellow puff, and placed the tiny chick next to it's mother. "I think before we can form a fearsome army of chickens and roosters, we should make sure that the chickens and roosters in question aren't scared themselves." She smiled to herself.

Birdie’s laughter only caused Amaya to laugh harder, eventually falling onto the floor. It was a wonder Sundlower hadn’t drifted away from Amaya the second she started rolling around the floor in a desperate attempt to actually breathe.

“Y-yup!”, Amaya forced out. “Seriously though, imagine how wonderful it would be if we let them loose at Hogwarts! Oh, the fear! Chickens would reign supreme!!!”

Then Amaya paused, and thought it over once more. “However... I don’t see the professors being too happy about that... What if they use magic on the chickens? We should get some people to cast protective charms on them, or even enchant some things for them! Oh, how great it could be!”

Any semblance of seriousness in the situation was gone when Amaya tried desperately to get back up, eventually resorting to rolling over slightly and then easily picking herself back up to her original, seated position.

That was when Amaya noticed Marigold hissing, eyeing Amaya angrily.

Amaya winced, drawing back, and hiding behind Birdie. “I offer you a sacrifice!”

Amaya pushed Birdie in the direction of Marigold, sure there would be bloodshed and gore, closing her eyes tightly and covering them. “I’m sorry, there was no other way!”

It didn’t occur to her that Birdie owned Marigold, so she would be fine, or the fact that she could have tried bribing the now angry mother hen with sunflower seeds.

Instead, the confident Slytherin was reduced to a trembling mess.

It was easy to see how the chickens could spread fear throughout all of London.

“Hey! Don’t offer me to the angry chicken!” She squeaked, dropping to her knees to pet Marigold. The hen, while placated, continued to give Amaya the evil eye. “Best stay away from her for now.” Birdie whispered, continuing to pet the bird. “Honestly, she’s not that scary. The most she’ll do is peck an eyeball or two out.” She shrugged and got up. “Anyway, yeah, we would need to use magic to pull it off. The chickies are still too little to strike fear in the hearts of our enemies. Besides, Marigold and Lance aren’t about that life. Marigold’s only a threat if you scare her chicks, and Lance is way too friendly. Maybe we could transfigure stuff into chickens and send those out in the halls?” She shrugged again. “We’d have to plan out an in-depth strategy. We could make it so the chickens would blow up into feathers on contact from anyone but us. Then we wouldn’t need to use a protection spell.” She murmured. “Also, this is unrelated, but being out here for so long has made me kind of hungry. Do you want anything? We have sandwiches, tea, crisps, and I think we have some soda.”

Amaya watched Birdie with horror. “A eyeball or two? A EYEBALL OR TWO? I don’t know ‘bout you, but... I VALUE MY EYEBALLS, THANK YOU VERY MUCH! Wow... ONLY a eyeball or TWO. NOT SCARY AT ALL.”

Amaya carefully inches away from Marigold, seeing the evil gaze she was directing towards her. Sunflower hopped a little closer, looking cautious and wary. Amaya softly cooed, moving closer as well, as slowly and carefully as she could, before reaching out to softly stroke the chick, who was chirping with happiness. Then she pulled away, letting the chick go back to Marigold, partly to let herself concentrate on talking, and also to make sure Marigold didn’t completely destroy her.

“Yeah... Maybe we could get some outside help for transfiguration! And what if they tried to push the chicken away? Blowing up wouldn’t work...,” Amaya trailed off, lost in thought. “We could even try to train the transfigured chickens! Or instead of transfiguring... Maybe we can get someone to conjure chickens for us! Maybe one of our parents! Or maybe... we could lure someone in with a fake chick, and then Marigold could attack! But... I dunno if Marigold would believe it...”

“Oh, um... Sure. I’ll have some sandwiches, and some tea...” Amaya gave Birdie a small smile, standing up to see if they we’re leaving.
