Cynthia was so very excited! It was the debate club’s first actual meeting. Cynthia took a deep breath as she strode into the room. ‘Hello members! Welcome to our first debate! As you all should know, I am Cynthia Beaufort. The debate topic is Potions vs Charms. On the side for the wonderful potions taught by Professor Regan, we have @Kayla Realma and @Billy Parker. On the side of the spectacular Charms taught by Professor Fresnel, we have @Bailey Glade and @Aurora Griffith. And there over in the spectators seats, we have @Katherine Ortiz and @Lily Blaze. Finally, here at the awesome judges panel, we have, aside from me, the amazing @Damion White. Welcome all!’ Cynthia liked the little speech she just gave.
Cynthia smiled. ‘And now, our first round, your arguments! Make sure they are concise, thorough and persuasive! Obviously, the speakers job is to make the speech they have been preparing for. However, researchers worry not. While the other side is speaking, your job is to make sure that you jot down all the notes to help with the rebuttal. Damion and I will have a short private discussion after you present your speech. Meanwhile, please think about your rebuttals. Keep in mind that do not present your speeches before your researcher has had the chance to look it over. That would be all. Thank you.
She smiled happily, proud of herself. This debate club — it was going to be awesome. The many debates they will have — about many different topics. The many things they will do! Cynthia sighed contently. She walked back to her judges seat, her magnificent and totally dramatic speech finished and plopped down next to Damion. ‘This is going to turn out great.’
OOC notes:
-Please do not submit your posts before the judges have submitted them.
-You will have a week to prepare your posts (the most time I’ll drag is a day more, due to timezones, since researchers can replace the speaker in times of emergancy), countdown starting from the final judges post.
-You will only have the chance to post once in each round, so use it wisely.
-Judges’ comments are private (ic). Therefore, while we will post them and you can read them, please do not metagame with them.
-Do not contact the other team to discuss anything related to the debate, this is considered cheating.
-The speech itself can only be presented by the speaker, unless the speaker is unable to post due to irl reasons. The researcher can do rps of their thoughts and the note’s they’re taking down.
-Spectators can choose to support a team, but we will not consider it into our decision.
-When formatting your post, please include which team you are on. (Spectators should also include which team they support, or simply say neutral.)
-Spectators do not have to post something each round (however, if you want to, you can).
-HAVE FUN!!!

This was exciting. Damion had never been in a situation of this kind. He had not been a judge. He was going to be a good judge. He wanted to do a good job. He had took out his paid to make sure to make notes of what the teams were saying. He wanted to make sure that he had all the notes that he needed for the debate.

Damion was happy as he took a seat waiting for the others to arrive and see the debate. He was happy that he was in such a pristige position. He was happy and couldn't wait to see what happened.

Damion was happy that he was in the debate club. He couldn't stop thinking of what his heart really wanted. Anyways he couldn't let his heart or mind be distracted. He couldn't let his mind be distracted at all. He couldn't afford it to be honest.

Damion Walked into the rehersal room. Rehersal room... He had been here with Kim for another club. The Fashion Club... He was a model in it. For this one he was a Judge. He was feeling proud. He was happy that he was at such a position that he had not been in ever.

So what's going to happen... Let's see... He thought and smiled.

The debate was coming into action.

Kayla was a researcher for Billy Parker, a Slytherin that she had never really met before, but she was excited to build a bond with the girl! Kayla was wearing her Hufflepuff uniform as she walked into the room, she really wasn't sure what to wear and it seemed kind of...formal in way. Or atleast in Kayla's eyes. So she showed up in her uniform. Way to go, Kayla.

Kayla had only been in the rehearsal room a few times in her time at Hogwarts. Once for the martial arts meeting. The other times were just took look around, too admire the architecture of the place. Hogwarts had too many surprises.

As she looked around and spotted Billy, she walked over and stood next to the other girl. Kayla had a piece of parchment clutched in her right hand, which she held onto nervously. It was her 'research', she kept it with her, not sure if there was anything else she needed to bring.

As Cynthia announced them, as if they were on a game show. Hopefully things were going to go well, Cynthia was making the young Hufflepuff nervous. Instinctively she began to wrinkle the parchemnt without even realising it, she sighed and relaxed her nerves.

It was okay, just a club meeting. She smiled at her partner, this was going to be fun.

Bailey was a researcher for Aurora Griffith, a hufflepuff. Bailey honestly was excited, she loved researching. She loved the smell of the books, the sound of the scratching of the quills on parchment, the site of the ink drying after filling a page with information.
Today she was researching for a debate, something that was new to her.
Bailey, since she was homeschool, never had been part of a debate club before. She had argued, sure, but that’s different.
this has more logic involved, and honestly is more convincing. Having all of your thoughts lined up, and written down or organized for you, it should make making your arguments easier and help make your arguments more coherent
With those thoughts, Bailey smiled. Glancing around the room, Bailey spotted a now familiar face- the face of @Damion white
He seemed to be a judge, and Bailey was sure he would do amazing!
To herself, Bailey thought so it isn’t just the clubs Kim and I are in that he’s joining… maybe he just is interested in them. I thought for SURE he was stalking one of us… now I feel better. I didn’t think someone, let alone Damion would do that, but … I don’t know why I thought that
we are all born beautiful. it is a tragedy we are convinced that we are not”
