Mostly because with the arrival of Haley and of Damion a few minutes later, he wanted to welcome them. "Bailey and I are both instructing members by having them do drills after they've finished stretching their body out. We can only take one at a time but you can watch and listen during someone's turn and see if you can figure it out before your turn happens. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them during your turn!" Kim told Haley and Damion. "You two should start doing some basic stretches while I take care of Lala. Do you know how to do stretches?" He asked, glancing over at the two newcomers. If not, he'd help them out a little before getting started with Kayla. After all, everyone needed something to do. Kim glanced over at Bailey as she helped Daphne. Their club was growing again, which was awesome. There were three members already here! He wasn't entirely sure whether the boy from earlier who had left would return or not. Therefore, he didn't really count him as one of them. Not unless he returned to the club again. There had been something about the boy from earlier. Something that had made him wonder if he was going to return. Kim reached up to tuck a strand of white hair behind his ear as he returned his attention to Haley. He glanced over at Damion too. Once he knew whether they knew how to do basic stretches, he would leave them be and focus on Kayla again. However, he had to admit it was nice to see Damion here, although Kim was beginning to wonder what the reason was for his sudden activity in clubs. Up until this year, Damion hadn't been seen in many clubs, at least none of the ones Kim had been part of. But now, it was the complete opposite. Perhaps he had a lighter workload this year and therefore had more free time. Yes, that must be it. |

As Kayla nodded along to Kim's intrustions, more people walked into the room.
Kim seemed to know the first girl that walked in, a girl named Haley. Kayla didn't know the girl, but she smiled and waved. A boy with fluffy black hair, who strangely reminded her of someone, also walked in.
She waved at him too.
As far as her memeory went, she didn't know him. But Kim did. Of course he did, he was co-leader to the club. Naturally, he would know virtually everyone at the meeting. Kim went over to go say something to Haley and the other boy and Kayla watched them curiously. Her blue eyes twinkled as they lingered over the room for a moment, before she turned her attention to her stance. What had Kim said? Kayla racked at her brain and remebered what the older boy had said to her.
" 'Curl your hands into fists and raise them up to around your mouth, ' " she muttered under her breath, repeating his words as she corrected the way she held her hands. Kayla put her right foot in front of her and punched the aid, out of play than anything. Kayla glanced over at Kim again, dropping her arms a bit as she waited for him to get back.

When Bailey walked back over to Daphne, the younger girl was super eager, and asked a ton of questions. Her excitement was shared by Bailey, who loved Martial arts.
"i am sure we could arrange some sort of show or tournament, as long as Kim and i get permission from headmaster or other staff members. I'd hate to be the reason a bunch of people get detention."
bailey then showed Daphne some basic moves, that made up the first five moves of the first color belt form, the white belt form.
"Step forward, high block - nice!!! aim, annnnd punch! great job! front kick, with your back leg - there you go! Now, low block - awesome! Aaaaand aim, step aaaaand punch!!! Amazing job daphne!!" Bailey said, leading daphne through the moves two or three times, until Daphne was able to do them on her own. Daphne was doing an amazing job, and was so eager which bailey loved.
Bailey then left Daphne to her own devices, and asked Haley and Damion "would either one of you like to join Daphne and I? we're going over the five or so moves of the first color belt form, the white belt form. If one of you wants to join me we'll be able to do some basic self defense, which is fun. I promise no one will get hurt - pinky promise." After a breath, Bailey then offered "you both can come if you would like, i can be one of your partners if needed!"
Bailey, as she was walking back towards Daphne, called over to Kim "we're gonna do some self defense drills, you and Kayla can join us if you would like!"PERMISSION TO MINI GODMODE DAPHNE DOING A GOOD JOB WAS GRANTED

He showed Kayla how to do the first five moves of the first color belt form, the white belt form and paused. After making sure she could do them, Kim glanced over at Bailey as the leader of the club got their attention. "Since you now know the basics, we should gather together and all do the moves together. Like Bailey said, you can all participate in some self defense drills with us." Kim told Kayla and the others. The white haired teen moved over to where Bailey and Daphne were and beckoned for the others to follow him. It would be more interactive to have everyone together and the drills would go smoother too... Despite his aversion to being within crowds of people, Kim was relatively fine at club meetings he was the leader of or even the co-leader of. Mostly because he could distract himself by talking and explaining things to the members. Or he had a sense of responsibility and thus had something to occupy his mind with at the time. It was only when he was just a member of a club, or part of a class, event or errand that he tended to get nervous. Dueling was the only event he didn't get nervous. Of course, there was a reason for the anomaly. The reason he could duel without getting nervous was simple. Kim had a tendency to become incredibly focused when he dueled someone in an official match-up. So focused that he ended up forgetting everything else at the time and thus nerves didn't tend to mess him up. Sure, he could miss spells or not get a spell off, but it wasn't because of his nerves. It was usually because something distracted him at the time. Or he just wasn't able to aim properly for some reason. Maybe it was even an issue with his magic or the wand itself. Regardless of what it was, be it missing a spell or not getting one off, it had nothing to do with nerves. That was something he knew for sure, as he felt quite comfortable. Dueling was just something that made him feel at ease whenever he picked up his wand and cast spells. "Don't worry if you don't know any of the moves. We can show you and you can take your time." Kim reassured the others, just in case they felt intimidated. |

To Haley's relief, it didn't seem to be a problem that she was a little late. "Hey Kim!" she greeted her Gryffindor buddy and waved at them. Shortly after, a girl with blonde hair already came up to her, she looked familiar. "Hey Bailey! Uh, yea sure I can join you!" Haley didn't really think about who she most wanted to learn from now. She was sure they would both do an excellent job and since she didn't really know Bailey yet, it seemed like a good decision. This way she could learn something new and meet someone new. So Haley followed Bailey around the room, watching Kim as he was explaining something to one of them students.
"Okay I'll let you guys go ahead and get warmed up a bit." Haley clipped off briefly to Bailey and the other girl who she had unfortunately interrupted her by arriving. She stood a little apart so that she still had a good view of the room and began to warm up with some light exercises before moving into stretching. Meanwhile, she never took her eyes off all the action and like a little kid at a carnival for the first time, she watched enthusiastically.
High block, punch, kick, punch. Haley grinned widely, she couldn't wait to get started and at the same time she felt a little wistful as it all reminded her of the boxing lessons with Charles. How she would love to tell him about this club, about the first training and that she was now improving on what she had already learned from him. But she couldn't and she didn't want to think about it any further, otherwise she would end up in tears. So she concentrated on the anticipation.
"Yes I'll join you too." Answered Haley and came over to them. She was warm and stretched by now, ready to go.

"If dueling is allowed here then I don't see why they wouldn't let us have martial arts tournaments too. Well, unless they only want us to use magic to defend ourself-or so they don't have to deal with concerned parents." Daphne chuckled before switching her expression into a focused one, doing as Bailey showed her. She followed her instructions very well, making sure to be aware of her surroundings as she copied her movements. Once she did it three times in a row, Daphne took a moment to catch her breath. As the others began to join in, Daphne smiled at Haley, admiring her hair. Sometimes she wished she was born with red hair, she just felt like blonde was too common and red had draconic vibes.. Then again, being a half-Veela it was more of a unique blonde... "I think that we're all doing great thanks to the best instructors ever-Kim and Bailey!" Daphne tilted her head and couldn't help but smirk. "Hmm, I'd love to see you two have a match together! Of course I gotta rep Team Bailey! Annnd by us watching, it can be a great learning opportunity." She made sure to add the last part, eagerly awaiting for their responses.

As Kim came back over, her mind was already lost in whatever daydream she was thinking of. Perhaps dinner, she was hungry anyway. But that was besides the point.
Kim taught Kayla some basic moves, which Kayla thought she did pretty well if she did say so herself. But Kayla's feeble attempts were nothing compared to the educated Gryffindor boy. Kim was a natural. As he taught Kayla the moves, Kayla couldn't help but notice how flawless he did each move, everytime he moved, it was with purpose and confidence. Honestly, it made him seem a little intimidating.
Bailey then spoke, and Kim suggested they all join Bailey in self-defence drills.
"M'kay," was pretty much all she said. The stretching had already pretty much guaranteed that she was gonna be sleeping a full 9 hours that night. So, she followed Kim and the rest towards Bailey and Daphne.
Kim assured them that if they didn't know anything, they could take it slow and it would all be good. Kayla knew very little about martial arts- unless kickboxing counted. Did kickboxing count? Probably not, they were two different forms of combat. Or defence, whatever.
Her thoughts were slightly pushed away when Daphne spoke, praising Kim and Bailey for being such good instructors.
"Agreed, they're both awesome and great at teaching," Kayla greed, nodding along to Daphne's words. At the blondes suggestion, Kayla also nodded.
"That would be cool," Kayla mused, "but also very educational." Kayla glanced between the two trainers, wondering who was more...martial arty.@Bailey Glade, @Damion White, @Daphne Sapphirus, @Haley Rose, @Kim Sato(Aoki)

Reduciook- our plan; this post, you are RPing doing the drill. next post bailey and kim will offer little things to fix - nothing against you, just making this realistic. then they will 'spar' and the post after that they will give little homeworks or things to practice, and the meeting will be over!
"that is true - maybe if we talk to a professor we can convince them to supervise. it would be fun!!! that's a great idea - and it should draw more people to our club!!" bailey said to daphne, before they moved onto form. Haley joined bailey and Daphne and they went through the form together before moving onto something a bit more complex, useful and also more fun.
Kim moved over to where she and Daphne where, and kayla followed kim. Haley had already joined bailey's group, and she was folloing instructions really well. Bailey wondered if the older girl had had some sort of defense training before, she seemed quite competent. Daphne was a sweet girl, and completed both bailey and kim on being great instructors. Bailey smiled, and her cheeks took on a little pinkish hue, as she blushed. "aww thanks Daphne and kayla!! i really love teaching, and it's nice to have such amazing students as you all!!!" bailey replied after Kayla agreed with Daphne's statement.
Daphne brought up an interesting idea - she proposed that bailey and kim show them what to do. Bailey decided to make them a deal - and this is what bailey said in reply. "ok - kim and i are going to demonstrate a common defense to the very common attack of a front punch. after that, kim and i can show how this will come into play in a real life situation, and then we can pair you up. then after you have had the chance to practice both attacking and defending, kim and i can spar - then we'll give you something easy to do as 'homework' and then you will be good to go! you can ask any questions you have at any time really, to either kim or myself, and we would be more than happy to answer them!"
The self defense that bailey and kim demonstrated looked like this. The taller person is Kim, and the slightly shorter is bailey. Bailey is doing the talking and explaining, and Kim is her partner.
Bailey talked through the situation, with kim doing a slow punch, bailey did the counter and punch also slower so that everyone could clearly see what they were doing. After doing it two times slowly, bailey and kim sped it up a little, showing how it would look faster, and then the last time they did it at full speed. The last time they did it, at full speed, they made it seem more like a real situation. It would be impressive to see, both Kim and Bailey were nimble and fast, and worked well together. It seemed almost like a planned dance, but they were both thinking of the top of their heads.
When the time comes for the students to do this, they will be paired up, and will decide among themselves who is going to attack first and who is going to defend first. After practicing like that five times, bailey had instructed them to switch roles, and hopefully they will listen. After they have done both jobs five times, they can pause, keep going, or ask any questions that they have.permission to have kim do things was giving, got permission from @kim sato to post this

They all seemed to be doing pretty well and all of them appeared to have warmed up enough on their own. Once they'd gathered around Kim and Bailey, some of them ended up expressing interest in seeing them spar together to show the others how it was done. A trio composed of Haley, Daphne and Kayla were most interested in seeing this happen. Kim glanced over at Bailey to see what she thought of this and nodded when the girl began to speak about what they would do. It would be fun to spar with her and their members could learn some things in the process too. The two ended up going through a demonstration slowed down. This was so the members could see every single move and try and replicate it on their own later. Eventually, they ended with showing how it was done at normal speed, and when it was done, bowed to eachother. This was to show respect to their partner. It was how all martial arts matches were expected to end, or those watching would not be left with a good 'taste' in their mouths. As Bailey matched all the members up with partners, thankfully they had an even number at the time, Kim walked around them, as they started to spar. Well, kind of spar. It was more like exercises right now, rather than sparring, but it was necessary for them to learn this. |
