THE BASICS

Backstory: Valarie is rather tall for her age and stands five-foot tall with beautiful brown eyes and curly light brown hair. She tends to have a few light freckles that often disappear in the winter. Valarie despise wearing jeans and much prefers leggings and sweatpants. You’ll often find her wearing sweatshirts to match her sweatpants or t-shirts to match her leggings. Valarie fluently speak three languages, French, Spanish, and English. She loves reading and writing but, however, math and science are not strong suits of her’s. Her friends would describe her as nice but she is often shy with new people she has yet to fully understand personality wise. Valarie’s personality is calm and collected but she can be just as flustered as anyone else, especially when it comes to a new situation she is unfamiliar with. Before Valarie came to Hogwarts, she lived in Glasgow, Scotland with her mother, Kaitlyn, her father, Alexander, and her older sister, Adeline, a sixth year at Hogwarts, who are all wizard/witches. Her mother was born and raised in Glasgow but by the time she was twenty she had already traveled to several countries in Europe. Her father was born in Dublin, Ireland but moved to Glasgow when he was sixteen after his mother passed away. Her sister was born in London and lived there for about two years before the family decided to move to Glasgow, Scotland, where Valarie was born. Valarie comes from a long line of wizards and witches. Valarie’s life at home was quite calm and peaceful with little fighting between her and her sister. She was homeschooled by her mother in order to prevent any unwanted attention in case her magic were to present itself at school. Valarie has known about wizardry and witchcraft her whole life and has been expecting her magic to appear her whole life. Valarie’s friends from Glasgow will be attending Hogwarts with her and she is looking forward to it but she’s also drawn in to the fact that she can make new friends. At home, Valarie had three cats, London, Paris, and Dublin, all named after places her family had traveled to. London, a Siamese, was their oldest cat at nine and a half years old. Paris is their youngest cat at one year old. They adopted her from a shelter in the city when she was a a very young kitten. Dublin, named after her father’s childhood hometown in Ireland, is five years old and a lovely orange cat. Valarie’s first experience with magic when she was nine. She had gone to bed at nine o’clock-just a few hours earlier and around eleven o’clock at night, she awoke after a dreadful nightmare to find several items in my room floating. She was so was so happy to have finally had her first experience with magic and rushed to her parents room to tell them. Her parents greeted her with joyful faces and telling her how proud they were of her. Valarie’s older sister discovered her sister had her first experience with magic the next morning. |

Family
Mother:
Kaitlyn Grace Martin Song was born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland. She grew up in a large family with two older siblings, twins, Anna and Braden, and a younger sister named Abigail. Her family later took in her cousin when Kaitlyn was a seventh year at Hogwarts. Kaitlyn is a quiet woman and Valarie is much like her mother. Kaitlyn is also very kind and cares a great deal about others. At Hogwarts, she was Hufflepuff and her actions greatly show her kindness. Kaitlyn very much believes that everyone is equal and she loves and appreciates everyone she has met. She does her best to get along with everyone, even Adeline, despite their differences. Kaitlyn passed most of her looks off to Valarie. She has blond, curly hair and blue eyes. Her skin is fair and pale and she is tall. Her reputation in the community is a good one. People see her as a kind woman and an excellent leader. Before being a stay at home mother after Adeline was born, Kaitlyn worked for the Dailey Prophet.
Father:
Alexander George Song is from Dublin, Ireland. He grew up there with three brothers, two older and one younger. His contact with his family back home is quite limited. When he arrived at Hogwarts, he was immediately sorted into Gryffindor and in year five he met Kaitlyn. Alexander is kind, much like his wife, and brave. He, similar to his wife, shows kindness to everyone he meets but if they don’t show the same kindness back, he doesn’t get along as well with them. He believes no blood is higher than another. He gets along with Valarie much better than Adeline. He has chestnut brown eyes and hair and a big smile. His reputation is also good. People see him as a brave man with lots of pride, which is true. Alexander currently works for the Ministry of Magic.
Sister:
Adeline Marie Song is a sixth year Slytherin at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Adeline doesn’t get along very well with her family especially her mother. Adeline is very different from the rest of her family. She has inky black hair and ice blue eyes. She takes great pride in being a pureblood and frowns upon the fact the rest of her family isn’t in Slytherin. Adeline differs from her family in her beliefs. She gets along mostly with other Slytherins and Pure bloods. Adeline finds it difficult to believe the same things as the rest of her family and sticks to her own personal beliefs. Her reputation out of everyone in her family is the worst. People steer clear of her and try to not bother her because they are worried of her reaction.
Temporary Sister:
Haley Violet Malay is the half blood daughter of James, muggle, and Camille, witch, Malay. Haley’s father died when she was five, leaving her and her mother alone. Haley is an only child. She is currently nine years old and has yet to have a first instance of magic. Haley is very shy and quiet. Her mother Camille was Kaitlyn’s best friend while at Hogwarts and the two have remained close all these years. Camille recently got very sick and has been in the hospital. Haley was sent to live with the Song family until her mother got better.
