Finally, Edward had a bit of time to search for the place he had been looking forward to the most: the library. Classes had started right away and Edward had been busy finding his way to the classrooms and preparing the homework, which was much trickier than what he was used from the muggle school he had attended before.

Now it was the third weekend at Hogwarts for him and he had time to look for the library. With the moving stairs of the castle, he got lost a few times the past weeks but the location of the library was on the ground floor and he found the tall wooden doors right away.

He had left the common rooms as early as he could at 7 am and headed to the library to hopefully be the first one there. He entered the library and stopped abruptly, struck with awe as he saw the endless bookshelves, tall as the ceiling. Wow! He slowly continued walking across the carpeted floor.

Compared to the London library, this one here was rather small. However, it was filled with books on magic! Not on regular, boring muggle stories. And it were probably still more books than he could read during his time here at Hogwarts. Nonetheless, this was his mission: reading ALL the books.

Edward first explored all the rows of shelves, letting his finger gently stroke over the spines. He was trying to get the system of how the books were ordered here. There were of course so many different topics from what he was used to from the muggle libraries.

As he finished his stroll around the library, he wondered how he was supposed to reach the books beyond his reach. No ladders were to be seen. Maybe I need to say the title of the book? Or just ask the librarian, he thought to himself, but this could wait. There were more than enough books within his reach.

He remembered his favourite topic: history of magic. He wanted to know everything what had happened in the magical world. He also needed to do that assignment on the history class. The textbook had not described the events sufficiently enough, he thought. And so, he went back to the history shelves, picked up a book whose title sounded promising and sat down in a big armchair next to the fireplace to start reading it, losing himself in the stories and losing track of time.
