Sprinkle a lil' bit of Cinnamon Pet

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you go..." Sara heard playing from the radio, a muggle device that can play music. Everything was really looking a lot like Christmas: all rooms and corners at Hogwarts were decorated, as well as all Christmas trees, inside and out the castle. Some students were preparing to stay at Hogwarts, and some of them are soon departing home from the station in Hogsmeade. Sara was among the ones that are leaving for home. She needs to relax from her school days and the whole Magic world stuff. Don't get, her wrong, she learned to love Hogwarts, magic and everything that has to do with it, but she just needs a quick break from all of it. And coming home and seeing her family again would be really really nice.
As Sara was thinking about home and her family, she also wondered what she would get for Christmas. She stopped believing in Santa ages ago, so she didn't write him a letter, obviously. Her parents also didn't ask her what she wants for Christmas. That made her think... They might be planning something...

The Hogwarts Express arrived at the Platform 9 ¾ and Sara got off the train. She agreed with her parents to meet inside the London train station. Sara passed through the magical wall to the "normal" platform and went on to find her parents.

"Hello, darling!" her parents exclaimed when she finally found them. "Hey sis! How are ya?"asked her brother Charlie. "Hii! I'm fine, thanks. You?" Sara said and hugged her brother. Then all three of them posed an avalanche of questions that ranged from "Are you hungry?" to "What are magical friends like?". After Sara tried to answer all of those questions, her mum said: "We have a surprise for you." She glanced at her dad. "Well, kinda." Sara was trying to act surprised, although she had a promotion that they were planning something for her. "Yes, come on. We're going to Diagon Alley." her dad said and smiled.

When they arrived at the Diagon Alley, they went straight to The Magical Menagerie. Sara saw a lot of toads, owls and other animals in that store. "So you're going to buy me a pet for Christmas! How wonderful!" Sara exclaimed and hugged her parents. Then, all of them went inside and started to look around. "Which pet would you like?" dad asked. "Hmm... " "Would you like a rat? Maybe an owl? It would be nice to have your own owl, right? Or maybe a toad? I don't know why toads should be useful, but... some people love them..." "Hahahahaha, silly dad!" Sara said and everybody laughed. "I think I've decided. I want a cat. This one right here." Sara pointed at a cute, white-brown fluffy cat. "Alright, nice, leave the rest to me!" Sara's dad said and left to find the shop owner. "It's a really nice cat." Sara's mum said and smiled at her.

Dad found the owner of the shop, an older lady, and called the whole family over there. "Hello dear! You want to buy a cat?" she asked Sara. "Yes! How much does it cost?" Sara asked. "It's exactly 15 galleons, darling. Do you have that much?" "Now is my turn again." said dad. "Here you go, 15 galleons." he gave her the money and smiled politely. "You have a funny dad, I see." the shop owner chuckled. "Yeah, he's like that sometimes." Sara's mum shook her head while smiling. "All righty! And just to ask you, dear, how are you gonna call her? The cat" "I think her name would be Cinnamon." "Cinnamon, how lovely!" She chuckled good-naturedly. "Alright, goodbye then! Take good care of Cinnamon!" the older woman smiled as she waved at them.
"Great, we have your present and now we can go drink hot chocolate, with Cinnamon!" dad joked. Everybody laughed a little and walked out of Diagon Alley.
