This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things!
Nancy was tired, it had not really been a long day of classes but she was not looking forward to having to do the detention she had planned for the evening. Something about the kid just made Nancy grumpy and after talking to the Hufflepuff Head of House, she found out the kid had also lied about his name. She was definitely going to have to talk apologize to whoever Logan Baird was because she felt bad.
All of the plants in Nancy's office had been safely tucked as far away from the desk as possible, the ones that could be fully moved had been transported into the free space in her room and would be brought back out after the detention was over. She was not in the mood to have to fix any more flower pots and risk having other plants killed because of someone who thought they needed to cause chaos wherever they went.
Sitting on Nancy's desk was a book that would not have normally been there. Said book, was a book on proper manners for people and how others should be treated in different situations. Honestly, the only reason Nancy had the book was because it had been a fake Christmas present from one of her brothers many years ago and she never had the heart to get rid of it. Apparently it was actually going to be put to use now.
Once Clark would enter the Herbology office, Nancy would tell him to sit down. He was to read through some of the book and then write 200 words on why manners were important and professors needed to be respected. After he was finished, Nancy would ask him a few questions and escort him out of the greenhouse. The woman assumed the boy would not learn anything from this and would continue to cause problems, but she hoped he would learn a little bit of something at this point.

This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things!
Clark screamed out in anger, wishing he wasn't having to serve his time down in the Greenhouse. What the hell was it that he did so wrong? All he really did was lie about who he was, take someone else's identity... break the door, try to kill a plant, steal dung- what was wrong about any of those? Well, and he cussed at McDonalds. Maybe that was what was wrong. Oh well, not like anything can be done about it.
He entered the Greenhouse in the same manner he did the day before- by smashing the glass on his way in. "What's up McDonalds?" He looked at her, then at the book. "EXCUSE ME? MANNERS? YOU DON'T THINK I'M SOPHISTICATED ENOUGH?"
He crossed his arm in anger, wanted to scream as loud as he could- but refrained himself from doing such a monstrosity. After all, enough people had heard him scream in a lifetime.
"I HATE YOU ADELAINE! YOU HAVE SCREWED ME OVER." He hated the girl with every fiber in his body. But while she might not have a cause for this, Clark was dedicated to finding someone else to hate. That said, he walked over to an open space on the ground and looked down angrily to a parchment paper and a quill with ink on it. He also grabbed the book and grumbled loudly with every turn of the page.
After reading every blasted page in the book- even in the Ettiquette In Church chapter- he swung his arm around wildly and pounded the ground with both arms- trying to cause an impact that could potentially break his wrist so he wouldn't need to do detention. But to no prevail, and so he just started to write down what he was required to- 200 words or more on ettiquette. Disgusting thing. What is ettiquette? Well, it's the formal term for someone's mannerism- typically what the higher statuses follow- like the dratted purebloods. No one likes them, especially how snobby they are. Especially that Adelaide Barlowe who tried to drown me by flipendo'ing me into the lake. Anyways, manners are important for some reason. Maybe because people seem to think that the world will revolve around them once they demonstrate manners.
And according to Sir James Clark, in Chapter 8, the chapter called 'Manly Exercises', “the exercise which is to benefit the system generally, must be in the open air, and extend to the whole muscular system. Without regular exercise out of doors, no young person can continue long healthy; and it is the duty of parents in fixing their children at boarding schools to ascertain that sufficient time is occupied daily in this way. They may be assured that attention to this circumstance is quite as essential to the moral and physical health of their children, as any branch of education which they may be taught.”
In other words- exercise influence etiquette. Even if they're awful. Well- I guess I am supposed to say why Professors need to be respected and treated nice- uhh- well- uhh- they're people.
They're people. That's why they should be respected. Not because they're adults. But we can prank and break things like normal though!

This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things!
Nancy sighed at the boys screaming, something she had a feeling she was going to have to get used to at some point as she did still have to teach him classes. With a shake of her head, she made her way around her office, taking care of the various plants while keeping an eye on the boy. Looking down at a small spider plant sitting on one of her bookshelves, Nancy quietly picked up the small plant and moved it over to sit closer to the window in hopes it might grow a little better.
"Are you done now?" She questioned the boy with a tilt of her head after he finished what seemed to be a little tantrum. Honestly, this was going to get exhausting fast but there was not much she could do about it but continuously give the boy detention. Nancy did not even both to read through exactly what the boy had written, she would read it after he had left and would deal with the consequences after.
Making sure the boy was actually done, she leaned against the side of her desk, looking down at him with a slight from on her face. "I was going to make you answer some questions for me before letting you leave, but since you decided to read the whole book I will let you leave now. But, you have to promise to not do anything stupid." Nancy looked at the boy again with a sigh.
