Soon to meet up with @Irina Sousa
Third Year began with a no nonsense sort of approach by the professors, it would seem. First Year - the professors tried to show off their personalities to the students and Simon thought it seemed more like a magic show trying to entertain than it was initial teaching - full of theatrics and the like. Second Year was easing into a little harder material after covering a foundation the year prior. But now with Third Year, the professors expected a certain level of understanding of the subject matter and knew these students knew the expectations and behavior of the classroom. They would jump into the vastness that was the topics at hand quickly and offer not a moment of hesitation.
So Simon was in the Library to keep up. He had already practiced his Charms lesson in his dormitory and now with Herbology completed, he set out on finishing History of Magic. He was currently browsing through one of the books on the wooden table before realizing that he probably should go look up something in particular and see if there wasn't another book that might help him better than the one he had. Leaving that one open and his belongings at his study space, Simon got up and headed toward the History of Magic section.
OOC NOTE: My apologies for perhaps writing the most boring starter post in the history of starter posts!![]()

So that's a curious fact about Irina, she hates crowded places with people but she could live in a place where she could bury herself with books and parchments. There's something about the colors and textures of covers, the engraved letters with it's promising titles and the comfort embrace of knowledge in it's pages. By saying this, it's not a surprise to find herself faded into the endlessly tall bookshelves in the school library. She had never seen so many books in her life and she knew that this place will become one of her favorite places in Hogwarts. "This is how a means to an end looks like" she thought, walking dawn on of the many corridors between one of the shelves that was identified has the History of Magic Section. She thought she could start here, by collecting some books about ancient magic and it's history. She had already a good pile of books settled in her arms but when she looked at the shelve at her right side, one title got her attention... "I think I can manage one more..." she said to herself in a low breath, the books were getting heavy in her small arms. She got the book... but once she turned she bumped into someone, or something, and she wasn't able to manage the weight from the pile so, very disastrously and to much loudly she left the books fall into the library floor.
She started to pick up the books. Looking up she saw the tall dark haired boy. Judging by his robes colors he must be a Hufflepuff. He was obviously older then she and to be honest, his strong features made him a little intimidating...not to mention she was not used to talk to boys. She hoped that he didn't notice her embarrassment and her softly pink cheeks when she said in a quiet voice "I'm so sorry! Did I hurt you?"

Offering help and a place to sit to @Irina Sousa
Simon was slightly amused when she asked if she hurt him, just because of his stature. He had always been a little more broad shouldered than many and stronger due to his dhampir nature. If anything, he would be the one that would hurt her.
Regardless, it was very kind that she asked and Simon did smile, but not from amusement but to show he wasn't annoyed or upset.
"I'm fine, totally fine," he said as he knelt down. He began by helping stalk up the books, going a little quickly so that he could obtain more than half the books so her trip back from the shelves would be much easier than her first attempt."Are you alright?" he asked, checking up on her.
It hadn't been a big collision so he didn't think a trip to the Hospital Wing would be in order but hey, it never hurt to check in on someone. "These books can pile up quickly, I know. I didn't originally come from magic, or rather, I didn't know of it all before Hogwarts so I've sort of gravitated to these books like their the Bible of knowledge for it all. I've got catching up to do, you know?"
Simon was able to shift all the books that he had in one arm and use his other to offer her a hand out, extending it toward her. If she wished, she could take it to get help up from the fall.
He then looked at the books. "Uh, do you have a place to sit yet? I've got a book in here somewhere amongst the pile. Come to that middle table over there and we'll get it sorted out. If you need a space to be, there's some empty spots and you're welcome to join me. I'm Simon, by the way. Simon Kincaid."

The boy smiled gently at her, when she asked if he was hurt. She could easily have done that, since the books were not small and some had hard covers. But he assured her he was fine as he crouched down in front of her, starting to quickly help her picking up some of the books. Well...to be honest, the majority of the books were now on his hands. Was he being kind, trying to help her by holding more books and more weight or was he trying to hurry up because she had delayed him by interrupting his studies? Anyway, she felt bad for being so clumsy. "Thank you for your help! I'm sorry again, it wasn't my intention to bother you." She said shyly in a lower voice, not wanting to disturb other students, while was still grabbing the last books from the library's floor. Irina lifted her gaze from what she was doing to look at the boy, wanting to understand if he was really okay or upset with her and the whole situation. He was looking at her too, seeming to check her out, "Are you okay?" he asked holding an amused smile that made her calmer and less embarrassed about what just had happened.
"Uh..Yeah! I'm okay! Thank you for asking!" She answered him, returning the smile, "It's my first time in here, maybe I've become to greedy trying to read everything at once!" She said releasing a small laugh.
"These books can pile up quickly, I know. I didn't originally come from magic, or rather, I didn't know of it all before Hogwarts so I've sort of gravitated to these books like their the Bible of knowledge for it all. I've got catching up to do, you know?" He told her as he shifted the books to hold them better in one arm. She watched as he reached out with his other free hand, offering to help her up off the floor. A little hesitant at first, not being used to having this kind of contact with people she just met, she eventually decided to hold his hand, not wanting to appear ungrateful or rude. He, so far, had been nothing but helpful and nice to her. "I can't blame you! I'm an half-blood, but had never been surrounded by so many books in my life!" She confessed.
Then, holding his hand, she lifted herself off the ground using his help for balance as she got to her feet. "Thanks" She said to him, starting to reach out with her free hand to the dark haired boy, intending to take back her other books. But he didn't felt like letting her hold them back,"Uh, do you have a place to sit yet?" He asked looking at the pile on his arm. "Well...no. I just went directly to the bookshelves!" She happily explained looking around for an empty table.
"I've got a book in here somewhere amongst the pile." The boy admitted and she looked back at him, 'Oops...' she thought grimacing amused, "Oh no problem, you can..." She began to suggest, that he could hand her the books one by one until he found his, but he interrupted her, having another idea,"Come to that middle table over there and we'll get it sorted out. If you need a space to be, there's some empty spots and you're welcome to join me." He friendly said. "You sure? I don't want to bother you more then what I already did!" She replied with a half smile, feeling unsure if she should accept his offer.
"I'm Simon, by the way. Simon Kincaid." He introduced himself and she thought he was being sincere, that he wasn't really feeling bored or upset by her accidentally imposed presence. "I'm Irina Sousa, first year Slytherin! Nice to meet you Simon!" She said with a growing smile, and reaching out her hand in a greeting gesture. "After you?" She asked cheerfully nodding to the table Simon indicated where she could join him, waiting for him to lead their way.
