Howl Werewolf Flood

It was morning yet again and Amadea had survived another night. She was so relieved. Looking around, she wondered who it was that had been the target of the werewolf. It seemed as though no one had been injured. If Amadea was being completely honest, it was almost more frightening that nothing had happened. Well, of course, most likely something had happened. Maybe the Potions Master had finally concocted a potion correctly and saved a person. Maybe someone had been turned. Or maybe things really just hadn't happened and the werewolf was just trying to bide it's time. Who knew?

Amadea agreed with Eri that they shouldn't vote anyone out just yet. "We should sort out what we know and what we have assumed," she said, hoping she sounded logical. "We can't do anything based on fear and panic. It messes with judgement and that just ends in chaos."

Like usual, no one appeared to listen to her as the writer in chief began accusing the beggar, like before. It seemed as though the poor beggar had some suspicious habits, if she could trust what Anatole was saying. It seemed as though many people had been suspicious of Valtome, maybe for good reason, or maybe for no reason at all. Amadea sat back, her thoughts at war with each other.

Just the night before, she had been determined not to vote anyone out and come up with a solution peacefully without killing anyone. But now, she was suspicious. Multiple people had pointed their finger at the beggar. Maybe it was just a coincidence or maybe it was really nothing at all, but Amadea couldn't be too sure. She decided to sit back and listen to what everyone else had to say before casting her decision.

There was no helping these people. Time and again I've made utterances, warnings that were well-founded and insightful. Yet none of it was heeded. I was ingored like the beggar I am. They cannot be helped. They should not be helped. They deserved to burn for their wickedness. One Anatole, Journalist that he claimed to be, was doing a very poor job of it if he felt it prudent to accuse me. "Where are the facts? Where are the sources? Accuse me Journalist, but show me the proof. Should I air your dirty laundry?" I would anyway, whether he uttered yay or nay. "I sleep on the streets, my good people. While you all rest your heads on soft pillows wrapped in warmth I sleep on the cold, hard ground outside. I see things. I hear things. The wolf prowls at night, my beggar's blood too unsavoury for its refined tastes. But before it was consumed by shadow I swear to you it brandished a mane of red," I paused and looked at Ami accusingly, fearfully, "before transforming to...commit its dastardly crimes." An earnest plea. "I know not why the Journalist wishes to protect the were so badly. Do what is right, good people. Before it is too late. Before we are all dead." I wrapped myself tighter with the tattered cloak, shivering slightly from the cold. If they allowed her to go free for another night, then I know my life will be forfeit.

Eri started thinking. Nobody had died. Was it because the were slept? Did the potions master save the victim? Maybe the seer saw the were? Or maybe the were successfully turned a villager? Though none of these were revealed. Eri needed to plead her case on not voting until they had solid proof. "Excuse me. We need to not vote until we get solid proof. We can't let anymore innocents die. We would be doing the killing for the werewolves. Can't you just stop accusing for one day and try to get solid proof? We were lucky last night nobody died."

Lorelai had been quiet for a bit, and so far it seemed to be working out okay, but she decided to voice her opinion. She liked where the game was going, it was certainly becoming dramatic by the minute. "I think Eri is right, we should try to gather some evidence about who the werewolves could be. Any one of us could be the werewolf's next target if we're not careful."

"Beggar!" Ami snapped sharply, fixating Valtome with a fierce glare, strong enough to silence any wailing baby at church. "I am a member of the church. I am not a werewolf. Now would you please cease these..." Come on, come on, come on... think, brain, think! "Please cease your bumbling babbling. This nongermane exposé is painstakingly exorbitant. Just stop."

That was enough digging through the files of her brain, for now. She was also 90% sure that none of that made any sense. But oh well, she tried- was she really expected to stay awake in English class when her teacher had the personality and charisma of a moldy slug?

Information...information...information...

All the mutters chanted from north and the south. Information. That's all they craved. Everyone was as hungry for that I-word as wolves were for victims. It was pounding in his head as he tried to listen a thousand places at once. His voice grew quiet as he tossed his head left and right to catch every side at the same time. "Th-That's the thing! I...I have information, you guys just won't listen! I-" The conversation kept going, jutting back and forth about information, yet without information. It was a tumultuous din, screeching the same thing over and over. He could barely take it.

"Accuse me, Journalist, but show me the proof..."

The proof...the proof.

"ALRIGHT, FINE, I'M SEER!" Anatole shouted over the din. "I'm Seer. I found the bartender innocent the night he died, a-and last night I found the beggar guilty of being a Werewolf." His voice wavered off near the end, knowing that Professor Valtome would not hesitate to sputter more huge words at the boy for speaking the truth. "I...I just didn't want to out first and I hope I can be of more use in the future..."

Well, if that wasn't the greatest character break of all time, Anatole wasn't sure what was. The pressure had gotten to him from everyone demanding information, and he had been forced to spit it out, not like a journalist, but like Anatole Evans: nervous and frantic.

Now, everyone finally knew who he was: A Writer-In-Chief and a psychic.

"I still trust my news source. You, sir, have done nothing but accuse me this entire time, and for what reason? Do you have some sort of grudge against organists?" Ami spat, acknowledging Anatole and ranting at Valtome. "Stop being instrument-ist. It's not cool."

Besides, Anatole had also come out of the closet as Seer. If he were lying, however... no, he had no reason to lie. Right? "My vote is for the beggar. Let God have mercy on his soul," she snarled, glaring at him.

"Alright then! I vote for the beggar! Also, the potions master should heal Anatole, the seer!" he said much more confident now that they should have found the werewolf! If the beggar really was the werewolf, then people would stop "dying" at night... right? Then, the town would only have to deal with the minion, unless the werewolf had turned someone last night. Which was probable, unless the Potion Master had stopped someone from dying or turning. On the other hand, if Anatole was lying, they would get him tomorrow.

Action: Place vote on Valtome.

Finally, the kids turned on one of the Professors. He actually expected Valtome to be the first ousted. Solomon let out a laugh as the votes came in one after another. "Professor Valtome it is..." Solomon announced, myrrh in his voice. "You know what to do children," Solomon was enjoying this slightly more than he should.

"Beggar..." that was what he was playing, right? "I sentence you to death by a thousand fingers, may Merlin have mercy on your werewolf soul." Solomon was going to give the students a hand with this one. Solomon looked the other direction as he lifted his wand and with a nonchalant flick of his wrist he announced a single word. "Rictusempra." It was not nearly as gentle as the tickling charm he employed against the children and it was hopefully coupled with the children's 'justice.'

"Wand slipped," he muttered as darkness once again fell.
