Amadea sat on the cot, letting herself adjust. Maybe standing and walking weren't the two greatest ideas. After all, she had barely had any time to recover at all. The salve had only been applied to her burns moments ago, and while the pain had gone away, her skin was anything but healed. It would take a while for her to fully recover. Unfortunately, she hadn't quite thought all of that through when she had stood. She had been too determined to help Rhea. Maybe it was an innate flaw in her, in all Hufflepuffs. They were loyal to the very core, even if it meant hurting themselves in the process.

"Don't worry about me, I'm fine," Amadea said automatically, hoping it would ease Rhea's discomfort. She was definitely fine. Everything was fine. She looked around, wondering where the nurse could have disappeared to. She was definitely wonderful at her disappearing act. Amadea wished she would come back so she could help Rhea, who was currently sucking in a sharp breath. Amadea's head whipped around so she was watching the Gryffindor girl. It seemed as though Rhea was attempting to move her ankle, which wasn't the best idea. Amadea was going to voice that aloud, but stopped herself. It wasn't like she was the master of good ideas. In fact, one of those supposed "good ideas" had gotten her stuck on this cot on the other end of the room in the first place. No, she was definitely not going to lecture Rhea about good and bad ideas.

"Are you okay?" Amadea asked, concerned. Rhea's ankle had managed to swell up to a very big size; it looked abnormal and painful. Amadea winced in sympathy for the poor girl. She hoped that it would heal up well. If it didn't, Amadea would feel eternally guilty for it. Even though it was neither of their faults that this had happened (or maybe it was both of their faults) Amadea still couldn't shake her guilt. She had managed to assure Rhea that it wasn't her fault, but Amadea hadn't managed to convince herself that it wasn't her own clumsy actions that had caused this all. If any of their injuries caused inconveniences for them in the future, Amadea would feel eternally bad about it. Then again, she probably would anyway, but that was irrelevant.

Amadea wished she was closer, so she could inspect the ankle herself. It wasn't as though she knew anything about healing but Amadea was getting desperate. She didn't know what they could do. Then Rhea let out a loud yell and began calling for the nurse, yelling about how they were close to death. Amadea first bit back a shriek. The hospital wing was pretty much empty except for the two girls, and had been relatively quiet until Rhea began yelling. Once Amadea had recovered from the initial shock, she bit back a laugh. Clearly, Rhea had a skill at being dramatic. It would definitely come in handy during the situation.

Thankfully, the nurse came running out at the sound of Rhea's cries, looking over to them. Amadea could have cried with relief. "Nurse, over here!" Amadea called, pointing in Rhea's direction as she tried to stand and lead the nurse over to where Rhea was sitting. Now they could finally both be treated and hopefully leave the hospital wing good as new.

Okay, seriously, this ankle needed to stop.

The pain wasn't even that bad, it was just the pain when she put weight on her ankle. Excruciating pain flashed through her mind when she attempted to stand up and so immediately she laid back down. With a loud 'huff,' might I add.

One could say Rhea wasn't too happy about her current situation. Especially because the nurse wasn't showing up - bloody hell, where was the damn nurse?!

"I'm fine," Rhea called out in response to Amadea, forcing a small, twinkling smile onto her face. She wanted to reassure her friend that she was okay, so the other wouldn't spend so much time worrying about Rhea's ankle and worry more about her own burns. Rhea wouldn't put it past the Hufflepuff to care more about Rhea's minor ankle injury than about her burns. "Don't worry about me, worry about yourself! You're the one with the burns... that I gave you." Rhea added the last part under her breath, hoping that Amadea wouldn't hear her. Yeah, maybe she said she forgave herself for burning her friend... but she didn't really. It would take a while for her to get over her guilt.

Besides, they had larger things to worry about now rather than questioning if the other was fine or not. The nurse would soon rapidly approach, spurred on by Rhea's erratic pleas for help. Amadea also contributed by waving her hand to capture the Nurse's attention. Maybe now the Nurse would actually do her job and help the two.

Rhea plastered a smile on her face and looked at the Nurse. She waved at the hobbling old woman and pointed to her ankle, then pointed to her friend. She didn't think she had to point out what was wrong with Amadea; the burns she sported almost everywhere on her body were quite obvious.

With a nod and a smile, the Nurse hobbled away once more. Rhea was about to scream once again, but the old woman came back, holding several vials of potions that would presumably help the two injured girls. Rhea sighed in relief, as she really did not want to make a fool of herself in the empty hospital wing once again. Oh, who was she kidding - she didn't really care, and besides, it was all in good fun.

"Next time, don't scream like that, girlie," the Nurse said, pointing a scolding finger at Rhea. "Ya really scared me for a second." Rhea smiled sheepishly but shrugged.

"I couldn't think of any other way to get your attention!" the Gryffindor replied defensively. The Nurse didn't even bother to reply, instead just giving Rhea something to drink and hobbling away to Amadea. She watched the Nurse take out some salve or whatever it was and rub it over Amadea's burns. But before she could see if the salve did, in fact, ease Amadea's pain and cure her wounds, Rhea fell back into the cot in a deep, deep sleep.

This, again, is definitely not some of my best work so I'm sorry for that..
Rhea'll wake up in the next post, she just drank some Sleeping potion while the Nurse would do some healing stuff to her ankle so by the next post, Rhea should be feeling better (able to walk, but will need severe help) and should be able to leave the hospital wing.

Oh no, not again. Amadea had thought she had already moved on from the topic of Rhea giving her burns. "Rhea, you only gave me the burns to save my life," she explained. "Well, really to save both of our lives! If I hadn't been so clumsy and fallen into the Snare, then this situation could have been completely avoided!" If it was anyone's fault, it was Amadea's, but she was trying not to be hypocritical from what she had said earlier. She wasn't sure if she truly believed it was no one's fault that this had happened to them (because she thought it was her's) but she wasn't going to say that out loud. She wanted to convince Rhea to stop putting the blame on herself, and saying it was an accident would hopefully help.

Thank all the good lords and God above, Amadea thought to herself. It seemed as though Rhea's dramatic calls and screams worked; the Nurse came hobbling out of her room looking quite perplexed. As Amadea pointed toward Rhea, trying to tell the Nurse that the Gryffindor needed help, the Nurse promptly walked over and then went back into her room.

Amadea was speechless for a minute. What the heck was the Nurse doing? Had she completely ignored the two girls and just went back? Were they so far gone they were going to die? Maybe the Nurse thought there was nothing to do except let them die. Amadea wanted to cry. Then, the Nurse came back, with some items in hand. Amadea recognized one as the same salve that she had applied earlier to Amadea's burns. The other object looked foreign to Amadea, though she was still not thinking straight (mostly due to the fact that her burns were starting to hurt again) and she watched as the Nurse walked over to Rhea and gave her something to drink before doing some magical thing to cure Rhea's ankle.

Then the Nurse came over to Amadea. She wasn't sure what the nurse was going to do, but she applied another layer of the salve that had already been on her skin. The first layer was now smudged off and some of it had been absorbed by her skin, but a lot of it had rubbed off when she had attempted to make the journey over to the Nurse's office.

"Next time, try not to move so much," the Nurse said. "Let's get you back to the bed." With the help of the Nurse, Amadea stood and slowly hobbled her way over to the bed where she had originally been laying down next to Rhea. Amadea noticed the other girl was now in a deep sleep, head resting against a cot. Amadea hoped that she would wake up soon and be okay.

The Nurse sat Amadea down in the cot and reapplied the salve. Immediately, Amadea felt a rush of cool air on her skin, and the burning sensations lessened even more. It was pure bliss. Amadea loved the feeling. She let her head fall against the cot and she just sat there, reveling in the wonderful feeling of not having pain and waited for Rhea to wake up.

❝If this is to end in fire
Then we should all burn together❞
For just a few minutes, Rhea was able to take a break. Lord knew she needed it, what with the exams that were approaching, and the reality of summer. Sure, these could be looked at as good things... if one was an optimist, which Rhea surely was not. She knew how much she'd have to study for the exams, especially for Potions, and anyone who was close her could explain how much she detested studying. And when summer arrived, she'd have to go straight home - although she'd heard rumors of there being a summer camp offered at Hogwarts, Rhea knew that her parents wanted her home as soon as possible. Now, a normal kid would be excited to go home! But not Rhea, no, she was dreading going back there. Why? She knew that the moment she stepped through those doors, she'd be bombarded with questions about all the various relationships and people she'd encountered.

If she was awake, Rhea would most likely be punching a pillow. But thank goodness she wasn't; instead, she was lost in her dreamland, one where her parents couldn't scold her and where she didn't have to study. Instead, she found herself in the middle of a forest, but this was a special forest. The crown of all the towering trees parted once in a while to reveal a glimpse of the sky, and with that, the clouds. The clouds were all shaped into that of a unicorn head; there were a few that came together to form an arrow that led Rhea's gaze to an actual unicorn. As if in a daze, Rhea felt herself moving closer to the unicorn, right hand outstretched. The unicorn bleeted nervously and pawed at the ground with its hooves, but didn't run away. With a smile upon her face, Rhea reached the unicorn and stroked its muzzle. The unicorn burrowed itself into Rhea's touch, and the Gryffindor chuckled. If one was well-versed in symbolism, they would know what this dream meant - only those pure of heart and soul were allowed to touch a unicorn.

While Rhea was lost in dreamland, the Nurse was working on the injured girl. Upon further examinations, she was able to see the problem - Rhea had a sprained ankle. There was nothing much the Nurse could do, except cast, "Ferula," and hope that the ankle healed itself, eventually. When Rhea's foot was bandaged and set, she cast a look at the pair - Amadea was resting on her cot, and Rhea was still sleeping - and returned back to her makeshift office.

Soon, Rhea found herself waking up. Her dream ended on a nice note - she was walking through a meadow, the unicorn following close behind her - when her mind started to pull her away and back into the real world, where she found herself laying back on a cot with her ankle all bandaged up. She tried to move it and found that it wasn't as painful as before, although there was still a vague, dull throbbing. It was better than nothing, but still, Rhea had hoped that the Nurse would've been able to completely heal her ankle.

Upon seeing that her patient had awakened, the Nurse rushed back out to the pair. They looked to be well on their way to healing, although they'd both need to rest a lot. Rhea, for her sprained ankle and Amadea, to give her burns a change to heal and not crack. "You are both free to leave, should you wish to do so. I would suggest resting, for both of you, if you would like for your injuries to heal prior to August. As classes are almost over, I will have no power over what you do after, but I would assume you tell your parents and get a Healer." After speaking to Rhea and Amadea some more about steps they needed to take and asking them their information, the Nurse let them go.

With lots of effort and concentration, Rhea managed to sit up and get both her feet off to one side of the bed. She turned around to face Amadea and asked, "Are you going to leave now, or will you rest for a bit more?" Whatever her answer would be, Rhea wanted to leave the Wing. They could continue their adventure outside the Hospital Wing, but the smell inside here was making her nauseous. "If you're feeling up for it, we could walk around the castle for a bit... or you could go rest, I need to study for the exams anyway. Really, it's up to you."

As Amadea sat on the cot, waiting for Rhea to wake up, her mind began to drift. She wondered why she had been put into this really odd situation. It wasn't like people normally ventured into the Herbology greenhouses and tripped into deadly plants that tried to suffocate you while another innocent student tries to help you and also ends up strangled by the plant as well.

Thankfully there were skilled people that had the ability to heal. Without the Nurse, Amadea wasn't sure what sorry state the two girls would have been in. Certainly, Amadea would have collapsed from the pain of the burns. With the help of the salve, the burning sensations had been erased completely, leaving her with a cool sensation on her arms and legs. Amadea wondered what it would be like to be a Healer. Certainly it would be tough work. People would be in all sorts of different levels of pain and injury that would require different healing techniques. Amadea was sure that she wasn't cut out to be a Healer. Nevertheless, she was thankful for those who did have the guts to be Healers, especially the Nurse. Amadea wanted to cry with gratitude and hug the Nurse, but she was sure that the Nurse wouldn't appreciate that. Plus, it might ruin the perfect layer of salve that was coating her skin.

Soon, the Nurse had completed healing Rhea and the Gryffindor woke soon after. The Nurse gave them specific instructions to not do anything too strenuous if they wanted their injuries to heal. Amadea's eyes widened. She hoped that neither of their injuries would leave permanent marks and inhibit their ability to function in everyday tasks. Hopefully it wouldn't, as long as they rested.

Amadea scrambled to sit up when the Nurse had left. "How do you feel?" she asked immediately, concerned about Rhea. Amadea still felt marginally guilty about the whole ordeal. After all, if she hadn't been in the greenhouse in the first place, Rhea could have just gone on with her business in whatever she had been doing. Thankfully, everything had ended up okay, but it wasn't like it was Amadea who had been the hero. She had been encased in the vines, unable to do anything but watch Rhea save them both.

"Do you want to stay here and rest for a while or should we get going?" Amadea asked. She realized that once they left the hospital wing they would have to split up if they were going back to their dorms. Maybe there was another place they could go and rest so they could still be together. Amadea didn't want to let Rhea out of her sight until she was sure that the Gryffindor was going to be perfectly okay.

"I'm fine with whatever you want to do," Amadea said. While it was true that she should probably spend some more time studying for her exams, Amadea also didn't mind the idea of walking around the castle with Rhea. She would love to get to know the girl better, especially in non life or death situations. A walk around the castle didn't seem too life threatening (depending on the circumstances, of course). She would leave the decision up to Rhea. Amadea was fine with whatever the Gryffindor wanted to do. It was the least she could do, Amadea thought, to repay Rhea for saving her life.

❝you can throw your daggers, you can sink 'em in

Rhea wondered what would happen now that her ankle was messed up. Would she still be able to play Quidditch? Would her ankle be ruined forever, and she would never be able to mount a broom ever again? The redheaded girl certainly hoped not, because flying was the only thing she could count on to not go insane while she was back at home. If her parents ever wanted to go ballistic, Rhea would simply run outside and get her broom, flying around the cast property that was the Bishop Manor. Would her sprained ankle ruin that?

This entire situation was just a nightmare. Rhea wanted to pinch herself and wake up, exposing this as nothing but a dream. She didn't go into the greenhouse; she didn't get abused by a wicked plant; and most importantly, her ankle didn't swell and decide to bust itself. She was still able to mount a broom if she wanted, and fly away from all her problems.

As soon as she sat up, Amadea started to ask her questions. Ignoring the bloody hell this sucks thoughts, Rhea chuckled and nodded. "Yes, I'm fine," she replied, sighing. "Apart from the fact that I won't be able to mount a broom for the rest of the summer, and my parents will want to know how this happened - and then get mad at Professor Wright, most likely, because it was her plant - I'm perfectly fine." Rhea even managed a slight smile at the Hufflepuff. She wasn't mad at anyone in particular, she was more mad at the situation she was in. Her inabilities to do what she loved just hit her, and she squeezed her little hands into fists. This ankle would pose such an inconvenience.

Managing to stand up, Rhea was faced with a pleasant surprise. Although it was still uncomfortable, she could walk almost normally. She was still limping, of course, but there was no jolting pain whenever she moved her leg. Instead, the only inconvenience was the work it took to move her leg forwards - it was weighed down with the bandages that were wrapped around her ankle. "Actually, never mind. Forget I ever said anything. It is not as bad as I thought."

Rhea smiled and turned around, walking closer to Amadea. It was less walking and more hobbling, but she was still moving nonetheless.  In a burst of sudden... feeling, Rhea threw her arms around the Hufflepuff girl. Together they had suffered against the Devil's Snare, and now they were laying in the Hospital Wing, suffering because of it. Although Rhea still thought it was her fault, she didn't want to acknowledge those thoughts. It was better to not think about it at all, than to think and feel even worse than before. Rhea certainly hoped that Amadea didn't blame herself for the events that had transpired - if she did, Rhea wondered how she would even think so. Seriously, there was no way that was possible.

Amadea asked if she wanted to stay or to go, to which Rhea already knew the answer to. The Hospital Wing was already sickening her, not only with the fumes but with the memories. The only times she had been in a Hospital were all bad times, ones that Rhea did not want to think about. It was one of those things that she preferred to push away rather than focusing on; but, she still wanted to get out.

"I want to leave, this place is making me a tad nauseous," Rhea admitted. "I don't like hospitals, at all." Rhea thought about where they could go, and decided maybe they could simply walk around. Then she realized that she couldn't, not with her ankle. "I would say we should walk around, but..." the Gryffindor pointed at her ankle. "Besides, I am kind of fatigued. Almost losing an ankle takes its toll on one, no? Besides, I do believe we'll see each other once more before school lets out. Maybe during the summer, too! I can come see you." Rhea grinned and looked at her friend, clapping her hands. She knew that over the course of this... adventure, she'd acquired a good friend, one that she would have for a long time.

Rhea walked away from the Hospital Wing with lessons learnt, and a new friend. Had she not walked into the greenhouse to water Wright's plants, she never would have seen Amadea - and therefore would not have been able to 'rescue' her from the Devil's Snare.

She couldn't regret that.

It was fine. Everything was going to be fine. Yet as many times as Amadea repeated those words to herself, she couldn't quite bring herself to believe them. Maybe it was because they were both still lying on hospital beds, where they had definitely seen better days. No matter what she thought of or said to herself, she still couldn't bring herself to relax.

Maybe it was because Amadea was very concerned about Rhea's well being. Amadea was a Hufflepuff through and through, loyal to the core and always putting her friend's needs above her own. The thought of even accidentally causing someone pain that might end up with long term consequences made Amadea feel sick to her stomach. Or maybe it was the awful stench of the hospital wing. Most likely, it was a combination of both.

Amadea waited in anticipation for Rhea's response as to whether she was okay or not. As the girl went on about all of the repercussions and possible outcomes from her ankle injury, Amadea wanted to scream, cry, and disappear all at the same time. It was very confusing and overwhelming and Amadea wanted all of the feelings to go away. Unfortunately, they weren't going anywhere.

"Oh my gosh I didn't even think about your parents," Amadea exclaimed, thinking out loud. Her thoughts were slowly spiraling out of control. If Rhea's parents found out that Amadea had been with her when the accident had happened, it might seem suspicious. Then Amadea would get in trouble for hurting Rhea! Then again, she probably deserved any punishments she would receive, but the thought of being in trouble scared her almost as much as the thought of accidentally causing her friends pain. "And no Quidditch either!" Amadea's voice had rose several octaves and was at a low screech by now, accompanied with sheer panic.

She jumped out of her cot, probably not the best move after having only recently had the second layer of salve applied, and ran her hand through her charred hair. "Oh no, oh no!" she exclaimed. "This is all my fault. I'm so sorry! I've ruined everything!" Amadea buried her face in her hands, ignoring the pain at the contact of her burned skin against burned skin. Somehow, through all of her panicking, Amadea didn't notice as Rhea stood up and walked over. Then, unexpectedly, the Gryffindor threw her arms around the sobbing Hufflepuff, whether comforting her or just a friendly hug. Amadea hugged the girl back, ignoring the pain that flared on her skin at the contact with the Gryffindor's robes.

As she pulled back, Amadea took a minute to look at Rhea's face. The girl seemed to have a sincere look on her face even though Amadea wasn't entirely sure that Rhea was being honest about how much pain her ankle was causing her.

"Rest, yes..." Amadea trailed off. "Maybe we should just head back to our dorms," she suggested. "Rest is definitely very important for things. Exams are important. And your ankle needs to heal." Amadea wasn't sure her sentences were making much sense all strung together in a mess of thoughts. Hopefully Rhea would understand the general meaning of what she was trying to say.

"I'll check in with you later, okay?" Amadea said. "Maybe tomorrow when we're feeling a bit better?" Amadea really appreciated meeting Rhea. She seemed like a very nice person, and not only because she had saved Amadea from being strangled to death. She genuinely seemed like someone Amadea wanted to get to know better. Unfortunately, Amadea was too tired and in too much pain to hold a good conversation with anyone right now, but hopefully both girls would be more rested and rejuvenated in the morning.

Amadea slowly walked to the doors of the hospital wing behind Rhea and headed out in the opposite direction back toward her common room. While she certainly wish she could have met the girl in a different circumstance, Amadea was nevertheless glad to have met Rhea at all. Hopefully the next time they got together, it would be in a more safe environment.
