As the young girl walked down the Platform 9¾ followed closely by her parents, that would help her with the luggage, she kept looking around at her surroundings. Wizards and witches of all ages would wander through the station to get the kids prepared for entering the school again, or even for the first time, just as in her case. She knew that the day would come, when she'd go to Hogwarts, but was not expecting this.. large amount of people. Never having the opportunity to learn in a collective, she felt a bit uncomfortable around all these strangers, having the constant feeling they're looking at her.
However, she turned to her mother and father, and gave them a last hug, without smiling or crying either tho.
“Auf Wiedersehen! Goodbye! she waved as she quickly ran so she can catch the train. Avoiding all the other people in her way without unhappy collisions, the ginger made her way into the train hallway.
Inside the Hogwarts Express,Natalie was now searching for a place to sit down during this travel. In the first compartment, she observed some third-years playing with the food and comparing their chocolate frog cards. She decided to skip that place, not wanting to be the youngest in the bunch nor to spoil the students' fun with her presence, they seemed all like great friends. Continuing to walk down the hallway, the last compartment was totally empty. Natalie entered it, slowly shutting the door after, and then managed to take a seat, looking at how it was raining outside. Pressing half of her face against the window to watch the rain, she was looking almost like she was asleep or something. Only the sound of other children laughing and talking how it is to go school, what house they expect to be sorted in, and so on.

OOC: Hii, this is my 1st post, nice to meet you all! 😄 Also,I accidentally pressed to sort her before writing this post, I know the selection is done after the arrival at Hogwarts 😅.

Mahlioz had been standing on the platform, staring at the ginormous train, for quite some time now. She was in complete awe, and nothing her family said could stray her attention. This was it. The Hogwarts Express. The train that so many great witches and wizards had taken. And she was going to take it too.
"Come onnnn, Mahliozzzz," Reltyl, Mahlioz's sibling, complained. "You're making me jealous. Why did you have to be born first?"
Mahlioz finally looked away from the train and at them, with a sad but mischievous grin. "Don't worry, you only have to wait a year."
Reltyl seemed to be about to come up with a comeback, but at that moment the train's horn sounded, and people around started rushing to get on the train.
"Bye mom! Salut Papa! See ya Reltyl!" Mahlioz told her parents and sibling, taking her stuff and making it onto the Hogwarts Express just in time. The train started moving once the doors were closed, and Mahlioz waved to her family once more before they were out of view and all she could see were fields.
She turned around, now faced with the ultimate problem of people.
Where to go...? she wondered. She had been one of the last to get on the train - there was no way there was going to be a completely free compartment. So she walked through the train, dragging her luggage with her, until she found a compartment that only had one person. A young girl, it seemed, probably Mahlioz's age. Mahlioz opened the door and poked her head in.
"Hi... um, is this free? Could I sit here?" she stuttered, nervous.

(OOC: omg it's been a while since I didn't check HiO,sorry- I will answer everything now, I'm sort of unsubbed— please mention me next time, like @Mahlioz Evethisawe, because I see it more quickly - again, sorry I kept you waiting!)

At first,Natalie thought the voice came from the compartment right behind, not wanting to turn her head because of pure laziness. But realizing that cold air was coming from outside, she turned to face the head of her interlocutor and widened her eyes - something like "I wasn't expecting visitors, but finally a kid-"

The redhead nodded her head yes,Mahlioz could take a seat in there as long as she wanted,it wasn't her compartment or her train.
„Of course, come in.“ Natalie welcomed her as she moved a bit closer to the window,in case the girl would like to sit next to her so the landscape on the window wouldn't be backwards. She knew by her 30 minutes ago experience that finding a place to stay in the train for the first,or even second time,in case the other was older,is difficult, and would have even smiled if she had the courage to. The rain appeared to stop for a little while, but the ginger wasn't paying attention anymore. Studying at Hogwarts meant human interaction, and so on she decided to mentain the eye contact with her. Who knew, maybe it wouldn't be that bad to have somebody to talk to. Maybe.

(OOC: I'm so sorry, I completely forgot to mention you! Don't worry about the wait, it was my fault anyway, thank you for replying!)

Mahlioz timidly came into the compartment with her luggage, and very self-conciously put it under the seat. She knew she could be extremely clumsy and she really did not want that to be the first impression she gave this girl.
Once she was done putting her things away (apart from a few books for the ride), she noticed the redhead had moved over a little and wondered whether she should sit next to her. Mahlioz's brain thought about the question for way too long, and she ended up deciding that it would be rude to sit on the other bench when the girl had made a point of moving over. She sat down next to her and watched the landscape go on outside, just as self-concious as ever, fiddling with her green hoodie straps.

A few minutes passed in silence, in which Mahlioz did not read, because she knew she wouldn't be able to concentrate. For multiple reasons. For one, she was going to Hogwarts for the first time in her life. For a second, the other girl seemed to be watching Mahlioz, which unnerved her. She needed to say something to break the ice, as much as she wanted to curl up in a ball and read and be antisocial. She finally said, "So, um... I'm Mahlioz. Who are you?"

Ah,yes, the feeling of needing to sit in a corner with a book and be the introvert, Natalie would have at least partially understand her. However, she seemed to be preparing her answer to this question for a long time, which she did,at home with her mother, but her voice sounded a bit mechanical as she introduced herself.
„My name is Natalie. Natalie Schwartz. Schön, dich kennenzulernen...oh,sorry... ,the witch realized that not everyone speaks the same languages as she does,so she decided to translate, „..my excuses,I meant, pleased to meet you.“
Feeling a little embarrassed by the fact that she said those things that probably sounded like a satanic incantation to poor Mahlioz, Natalie did not talk for a couple of minutes. Instead, she started playing with the sleeve of her robe, that she was already dressed in. Inside her mind,it was chaos in it's real sense. The person said their name is Mahlioz, that's a bit of an uncommon name, but if she says that would it be too mean? Did she actually understand the language, will she find it strange...are they even a she?The voice sounded like a girl's,but Mahlioz's appearence tricks people into thinking she's a boy..what does she say now? Can't she just grab "The History of Magic" or some other book from her baggage and pretend that she's at home? No, she's in the train, she's talking to another human being, she must have a conversation now that it started, but how do you convince somebody you didn't just cast a foreign curse on them,or ask about their gender identity without sounding hella weird?

Hearing Natalie's name, Mahlioz nodded, but her eyes lit up when she heard the sudden switch in language. She hadn't understood it, of course, but she had listened to her sister practice her german lessons enough to know what language it was.
"You speak german?" the young girl asked, suddenly less shy and abandoning all care for what she came off as. She was just too curious now - languages had always been something that she'd been interested in. And the fact that she knew how to say a few phrases in this language brought a grin upon her face.
Being bilingual herself - although not with the same language - Mahlioz understood all too well how it felt to mess up and use the wrong language at the wrong time. And she also understood (at least, partly) why Natalie looked so embarrassed. Messing up your introduction by switching into a different language was a... statement, to say the least. But Mahlioz understood.
She ran her hand through her messy hair, still a little nervous. Reading a book would have been the easier thing to do, the safer one. But easier didn't necissarily mean more interesting. And Mahlioz would rather interesting to safe.
"Where do you come from?" she asked, with a small smile on her face. "Your accent when you speak English isn't exactly german."

Natalie shrugged,as she also has calmed down a little bit. It wasn't her type to overthink every thing that she said, awkward sitiations like these would happen to everyone. Noticing that Mahlioz was curious about her origin, she replied, staring as into the void,at absolutely nothing.
„I was born here,in the Great Britain. My father is German, though,he taught me the language. And so on I speak both. Then, the redhead remembered that she was actually talking to Mahlioz and looking at the wall. She was also curious about many things, but did stutter because she messed up the languages. Now that her self-confidence appeared to come back through the window, Natalie picked up the courage to ask her something. It wasn't like she'd be killed for her curiosity, right?

„How about you? Mahlioz is a bit of an uncommon name,in my opinion, I have never heard of somebody with your name before. I don't want this to sound mean,but..

(OOC: but it did 🙄)

Now looking at the short-haired and analyzing her features inside her mind,Natalie realized that she was talking to another representant of the female gender, wanting to figure out herself because she already asked a conversation and did not want to start interogating all of a sudden. There were 7 years ahead, enough time to ask milions of questions..

Upon hearing the question, Mahlioz wasn't sure whether to grin or to sigh. She'd been asked it so many times, probably too many to count. She decided not to complain, because it was a harmless question, really. She knew Natalie hadn't said it with any evil intent.
"My parents were peculiar people," she said, quite automaically, with a small smile. "The word doesn't mean anything really, they never told me how exactly they came up with it." She shrugged, trying to find a good place to rest her eyes. It would have seemed weird if she stared at the other girl, but even ruder if she ignored her altogether and looked at the wall. She ended up looking out of the window, which was halfway from both.
Mahlioz stopped fiddling with her hoodie straps, no longer too nervous, and put her hand on her books protectively, but mostly from habit. Half of them were muggles' books and the other half, wizards', but all of them spoke of magic. Finding the silence a little too loud, she decided to start talking. It wasn't her favorite thing to do, but it was better than this awkward silence that was filling up her brain.
"So... are you a first year too? What house do you think you'll be in?" she asked the girl next to her, and although she had many more questions, she did not voice them. She didn't want to overwhelm Natalie.

So,this is it? Closed
Nodding her head in approval at the answer and then the question, Natalie looked down at her shoes, trying to figure out an answer. She has never thought about what house she'd be sorted in,even though she was expecting the letter saying she's admitted since a very long time ago.
„Yes,I am in my first year. Didn't think you were too. she replied so Mahlioz won't feel ignored or something. Playing with her wand, wishing she would soon learn to cast a spell, the witch raised her glance up from her shoes to the window, and then to the brown-haired girl.
Haven't thought of where I'd be sorted in yet. I don't know,well.. I'd certainly be surprised if the Sorting Hat would put me in Hufflepuff. I don't believe I fit the standards for Gryffindor either ..most likely Ravenclaw,or Slytherin. My family from my mother's side were almost all Ravenclaws, it's most likely I'll end up there..what about you?
Even though neither of them were trying to invade the other's personal space with questions,it was a 50-50 chance that this would be an interesting talk, especially because the two seem to have lots of things in common.

Mahlioz grinned at the first comment. "People seem to think that a lot. That I'm older than I am. But that's cool, that we're in the same grade! We could have classes together at one point." The thought of having a friend in her classes made her smile. And, seeing Natalie with her wand in hand, she only became more excited about everything she would learn.
She nodded at the second statement, then answered as soon as the question was asked: "I really hope I get into Ravenclaw." Her eyes sparkled as she said it, and she couldn't help smiling. "Same as you, my whole family on my mother's side was sorted there. And I've heard the walls in the common room are covered in books..."
Mahlioz blinked, remembering that she was talking to someone. She looked at the redhead again, snapping out of her imagination. "Sorry, I'm just really hoping I go there. I feel like the other houses don't really... suit me?" She shrugged a little, smiling. "It'd be so great if we got sorted into the same house!"
Her mind was still stuck on Ravenclaw, though. She really wanted to be sorted there, but something told her that wouldn't be the case. She didn't want to listen to it. She wanted the books in the common room, and the blue robes, and the eagle sigil. She knew it was slightly selfish. But she really hoped.
