The Baird-Carter Winter Break
Note; everyone that comes are a part of the TTRPG club. They have recieved an invitation. They can choose to sleep over if they so wish. The original intention ICwise was that this would last one night.
Clark's eyes glimmered. It was Christmas morn- the morning everyone who celebrated Christmas, would awake and come tumbling down the steps to find a present from Santa Claus. And yes, Clark did still believe in Santa Claus. He knew of his misbehavior at Hogwarts and was prepared to try to make up for it at home- at the Baird-Carter house, where if you walked inside- the interior were caked with christmas decor- tinsels- antique christmas pottery and small statues of santa clauses in different countries.
Clark's bedroom- while normally orange, red, blue, and yellow- in odd patterns- was still those colors- just with a temporary gold strip of ribbon on each wall, and a bow on the ceiling where all four ribbons met. Indeed, it was an odd way to do a present with a bow upside down, but the point was across.
Each of the bedrooms were decorated like Clark's- with a difference. The bows were tied differently. The ribbons were also either silver or gold. Ben's and the Master Bedroom was gold. Clark's and Simon's were silver.
When you'd go down into the kitchen, you'd see that the countertops were decorated with a long pine garland, with pinecones dipped in gold or silver, with a gold or silver ribbon right next to them. The table in the dining room was set up, already prepared for the upcoming TTRPG that Clark was planning on playing, and he desperately hoped that the Christmas Cards/Invitations sent out would've have made their destinations.
The invitations were simply just to the Baird-Carter address, with the header of it in bold- "TTRPG CLUB." The rest were just random greeting messages, and how great the year was, and how glad that he was to even come across them- if he even did.
But for Keith, he added flowers into the "K" of his name, as he wanted to see Keith again- and hoped that wasn't too harsh a gesture to reveal that he loved Keith enough to make his card special.
Clark knew that he would then need to avoid attention on the rest of the Baird-Carter house- and help his dads make christmas dinner- and help perfect the fluffing of the tree- as well as tell his dads that the front door should be enchanted to change any present wrapping paper colors (if not already) to gold and silver. The dads did so.
Now, while the Christmas Ham was being baked, as it has been since the time he woke up- he set up the table, decorating it with mistletoes and the fine china plates, as well as retrieving the decent silverware- also alternating silver and gold.
Upon working on setting the table, he noticed there were only 10 seats. There was already five members in his family, 8 in the club- not including himself- meaning there would need to be 13 seats. So, he grabbed a desk from the study and placed it at the end of the table, lengthwise.
Now, he put two seats on one side of the desk, and two seats on the other side. At the end of the desk, was the endseat to the table. Now, there was 14 seats- and enough room for everyone to eat.
(feel free to come up with whatever food you want that you'd have traditionally for Christmas- and the Baird-Carters will have already made that for when you come and eat. But the main highlight is the different pies and the christmas ham.)
Clark had 8 pieces of notebook paper, and 8 pencils- out. He already made his character sheet, but he was going to work with those who haven't already- ie- everyone in the TTRPG club- to make the character sheets. But he had to put those to the side- unless they work on them before dinner was ready.
Once the character sheets were prepared, they would go into the Living Room and open presents- before playing the game. And Clark was the Game Master so he was a little anxious and wished for everything to go well.
(A note, presents are for everyone- not just the Baird-Carter family)
A smile, and Clark awaited eagerly - his head popping out of the pastel yellow curtains by the front door.

The Baird-Carter Winter Break
Mina had recently joined a club, a role playing club, that she had been eyeballing the moment the club had gotten started and shortly before the Christmas break, she had finally grabbed a quill and signed up. Joining the club was the easy part, she supposed, but dedicating herself to it was another thing entirely. Going over to Clark’s house on Christmas wasn’t the way she had planned to spend the day, and her mother was a little melancholy about it. But Mina has assured her that She would be home in time for gift opening and her mother had relented.
Which lead Mina to try to decide last minute what exactly she would gift the host. She didn’t know Carter very well, so that had made it difficult to find a decent gift. She had no clue what he owned already, but Mina was always one to try. So she had still gone out and looked around until she had settled on three sets of dice that she had thought the boy would like.
She had then gone home to figure out what she would wear on Christmas with her mother flitting about her, throwing out random ideas and Nat being an annoying little brother and trying to open the packages the dice had come in. She had swiped the dice from him multiple times before giving up and just kicking them both from her room.
Christmas Eve, she had stared at the outfit she had laid out on her bed, debating whether to change her outfit last minute or just go with it. She was currently planning on wearing dark blue jeans with a nice blouse, muggle clothes, but they were much more comfortable than robes if you asked her, and a pair of combat boots, along with a jean jacket. Decent. . . She thought to herself, grabbing the small bag she had put the dice in, it was just a plain white bag with white paper inside the top.
She walked out of her room, and rolled her eyes at Nate, who was waving a short stick around and pretending it was a wand. She sighs, “Come on Nate, we’ve got to go.” She pulled on her mothers arm, irritated, “Mum, you promise when I get back to the hotel from Clark’s that we’ll still do our tradition, right?” He mother had nodded and Mina was satisfied.
Her mother sighs and walks outside to the car unlocking it and getting in. Mina hops into the back seat and pulls out her book, settling down for the long drive to Scotland. Mina had begged her mother to drive them there so they wouldn’t have to fly the long distance in the cold and so Mina could read her book more. Or try to at least. Nate was being annoying and kept making random comments about the scenery and just random nine year old things. She sighs and rolls her eyes, eventually getting wrapped up in her book and running out both her mother and Nate. When she had gotten to the hotel, Mina had proceeded to claim her bed and fall asleep after unpacking a few of her things and making sure Nate didn’t try to steal the dice again.
She woke up ‘early’ on Christmas morning, smiling to herself and getting dressed. She had then eaten breakfast, and then sat in the hotel room bored, until about 12 in the afternoon. Then she was pulling her shoes on, grabbing the bag with the gift and back in the car and handing her mother the invitation so she knew where to go. Once they arrived at Clarks house, Mina leaned forward and hugged her mom, “Love you, Mum, I’ll see you later.” She kisses her mothers cheek and then hops out of the car, waving and walking up to the front door and knocking.

Keith opened the envelope signed to him, "It's from- Clark..." Keith read it, smiling at the flowers in the K in his name, so Clark could be kind- when he wanted to. Both his aunts walked down and saw him smiling, he turned to look at them. They looked at each other then back at him, "Who's it from Keith?" they said in unison. Keith laughed, "It's from Clark, the boy I told you both about. He made a club, to play a game like the muggle game called 'Dungeons and Dragons.' He invited me and the others in the club to go to his house tomorrow to play. And look..." Keith showed them the flowers drawn in the K in his name. Carol smiled and Brenda put a hand on Keith's shoulder, "Keith, Hunny, do you have something to tell us?" Keith shook his head no. He didn't have anything to tell them, not yet at least.
His aunts helped him buy some peppermint frogs for everyone in the club. He bought Clark something extra- a fake sword. It had a greyish handle, and the blade looked super real. Keith thought Clark would like it. Keith thought about the flowers- then got an idea.
Keith's aunts drove him to the house the next day, he had decided to wear one of the newer outfits he had gotten. Ripped black jeans, an AC-DC shirt- new band he had started listening to, and a black leather jacket, and a beanie. His Aunt Brenda always knew what type of clothing Keith would like.
Keith waved bye to his aunts, even though they had asked to at least get to say hi to this "Clark" kid. Keith always smiled and said, "Maybe in the future."
Keith walked up to the door, hesitant, then knocked quietly.Wc: -302- Interacting with: @Clark William Baird-Carter Mentioning: @

Oh boy, Ciel was really in for it this time. First asking for a friend to stay over during Christmas, and asking to visit him as well? Then asking to go to another friend's house all during their few weeks of winter break? Gosh, if Dion hadn't been driving up this way already, there was no way her dad would agree to taking her! But, well, that's what big brothers were for, right?
Actually, convincing Dion to take her to Clark's house wasn't even the most difficult part- that was just the car ride itself. He had mentioned going to visit someone- not that Ciel was really paying attention- maybe a friend or something? Yeah, she really didn't care. He had just offered to drop her off and then pick her up the next morning.
As the two pulled up, Ciel could feel herself becoming both nervous and excited. She hadn't really formally met Clark yet, but after joining the TTRPG club, she had deduced that he seemed to be a nice person. The real nerve-wracking part was that Ciel didn't recognize any of the names in the members list. She knew Rita, sure, but Rita wouldn't be coming today. And besides her, Ciel had no clue who anyone on the list was.
"You good?" Dion asked, just as Ciel was exiting the car. She opened the back door to pull out the leather satchel that she had brought to Hogwarts with her. This time, it wasn't filled with books or anything like that, but some tins filled with baked goods that Ciel and her mother had made. "Yeah, I'll be okay- what time are you gonna pick me up?"
"Whenever, I'm not pressed for time- just text me or something."
Ciel hummed as she waved him goodbye. Dion wasn't someone who talked very much (unlike Beaux), and she could appreciate that. Looking through the car mirror, Ciel checked her outfit one last time. She looked okay, that was good- and she had everything she needed in her bag, so she could finally let Dion go. But she still felt nervous.
Ciel took in a deep breath and walked towards the front door. This would be fine, whatever, no need to worry. She brought cookies and yummy pastries as a Christmas gift, and everyone liked cookies, so there was that problem crossed off. And while she didn't know much about anyone else in the group, she could make friends- which crossed that problem off. Yeah, she'd be just fine.
"Hey everyone!" Ciel cheered once she stepped in. This would be okay, this would be fine.
do not attempt this at home, ciel is a professional cowboy!

A lot had gone into this. Even though I had been set on staying at Hogwarts this Christmas, I had decided at the very last minute to hop on the Hogwarts Express for Christmas break. I hoped that my parents wouldn't have a problem with me going to "a friend's house", and when I asked them about it, it hadn't taken that much convincing, surprisingly. I had gotten the invitation and got excited, and I was right there at the doorstep, ready to knock on the door. It had taken a while, for Folkestone was really far from Scotland, them being on opposite sides of the UK, so it had taken a second...a long second. Mum had to make the 9-hour drive to Scotland, which nearly drove me mad. Mum would drive home, come back the next day, and drive home again. All in all, a 36-hour drive. I was carrying armloads of wrapped gifts, the tower was so big and so tall that you'd wonder how I wasn't falling, and you'd wonder how the gift pile wasn't falling. I barely got my gloved hand to the door without the gifts tumbling. The gifts were actually food; piles upon piles of cooked and baked goods. Pushing my back-to-red-coloured hair out of my face, I waited for someone to answer the door. I was excited about the TTRPG club, but I felt like I was dying out here, with all these gifts. "Hey! Can somebody open the door? It's freezing, and I'm desperate!" I yelled.
