Closed Ronnie + Haley vs Simon + AF Spider Game Match 2

As the Thrill & Chill came into full swings, the Brazilian kept glancing at the front door. He was hoping that his lovely cousin which is one Cassandra Ironwoods show up and joined the fray. But as the bash goes on, Ronnie did not see the green eyes that belong to their dear of cousin. At some point during the bash, there was an announcement that there will be a Duelling-like game that involve spiders.

Well, not actual spiders, but still since the setting will be Duelling-like the Duellist could not pass up the opportunity. And who knows if he was lucky, the opposing players were not Duellists at all. If the opposing players were not Duellists, Ronnie definitely had the upper experience and hand since he was an actual Duellist.

With the echos of chatter that came out from the partygoers that resided in the Ballroom, the blue-grey-eyed boy whispered to his girlfriend that he will join the game. Ronnie was not sure whether Haley sign herself up or not but the Castelobruxo hoped his princess will join the fun and stand beside him during the game.

Once he was done signing himself up, he came back to the small group of people that he had a conversation earlier. At the booming and crackled of the green sparks charm that resounded in the room, Ronnie's attention fell to the boy who was the host of the evening. The one that Haley introduced to Ronnie as Kim.

Kim then headed for the 'Death Door' and raised a heavy 'curtain'. As Ronnie follows the flock, once he emerged on the other side of the curtain, there were four raised platforms. Not far from the raised platforms, there was a long line of chairs set up where people could spectate.The Portuguese let out a Cheshire grin when he saw the setup.

The setup is hands down a Duelling setup through and through. Once the guests who were not taking part in the matches got settled in their chairs, Kim turned around. Ronnie stood and waited for further instruction. There was no need to take one of the spectator seats while he will be partake in the game.

Kim then called out his name followed by Haley's, Simon's, and AngelFyre's names. Ronnie smiled from ear to ear again. He was happy that his girlfriend decided to partake in the game. Kim then pointed to the first platform all the way to the left. He instructed the four players to take and stood on platform 2.

The tall boy then holds Haley's hand and both of the students begin their short journey to where platform 2 had been set. Ronnie then climbed the platform and waited for the other three to take their respective positions. When all four of them stand on the platform, the Brazilian turned his attention back to Kim again.

Kim gave how the game works, how many rounds it will have, and what should they do during the game. Ronnie nodded his head after Kim was done giving the instruction. Ronnie then shuffled closer to Haley. "If this is like any other Duelling I had been on, we got this in the bag, mi amor my love"The Castelobruxo student said softly so only his redhead beauty could hear him.

"Just so you know, yours truly won on the last Summer Duelling game,"Ronnie boasted proudly. Well, he and Milosh did. But everybody knows it takes two Duellists to win the whole damn thing. Ronnie's gaze then fell on Simon. "If I were you, I suggested you quit before this whole thing even started,"The Duellist said to Simon with his heavy and thick English - Portuguese accent.

He let out a smirk. "Show me what you got and ready to lose, pretty boy"Ronnie taunted the younger boy and put out his Duelling stance. Let the game begin.

Let the games begin. Ronnie and Haley had both signed up for the spider game and after the Halloween party had taken its first course, Kim officially welcomed everyone again and led the players to the dueling platforms. As she listened intently to Kim, her eyes snapped open as he called out to the players. This really couldn't happen now? All evening, Haley and Simon didn't cross their path. She had enjoyed the evening with her boyfriend without having to get into any contact with her ex-boyfriend and now this. "Ugh C'mon." Haley muttered to herself, but walked over to the platform and stood next to Ronnie.

Haley wasn't worried about herself or Simon. She was a little worried about Ronnie, she knew he didn't like Simon. And while she could avoid a first confrontation, all she could do for now was to hope that it wouldn't lead to drama. Haley's life had been filled with too much drama in the last year for her to bear it now.

Haley intertwined her fingers with Ronnie's and looked up at him with a grin as she took the place next to him. "Victory is ours, Luv." She replied with a grin, finding it hard to take her eyes off her joker. But if she was going to win, she was going to have to do it willy-nilly.

As soon as Simon and AngelFyre took their places, she would nod to them both with a neutral look. "Simon, McCubbin." Her gaze falling on the moderator, she prepared for the starting signal and before the fight would begin, she stood on her tiptoes and gave Verona one last kiss. "Let's win this." She whispered softly in his ear and so Harley Quinn was ready to throw spiders.

The evening had been so much fun so far and AngelFyre was looking forward to Kim's Spider Game. She knew how much time and effort he put into everything he did, and she felt this would be no different. One thing was for certain - it had to be less painful dealing with these fake spiders than dealing with the venomous one at the Fall Ball. She was ahead of the game already from that standpoint alone.

As her eyes were drawn to the beautiful Verdimillious sparks shooting up and then gently cascading down upon the upturned faces looking towards them, she smiled and leaned into Simon, grasping his hand as Kim called out their names and pointed them to their platform, showing them they would be battling on Platform 2. The set up was one she was familiar with, and she knew Simon was as well as he had been to enough of her practices and matches to recognize the layout of a duelling piste.

Kim had a funny sense of humor. The non-duel duel. The match up should have surprised her, but it honestly did not. As soon as she heard Haley's name and her partner's name... it sounded like Kim had said 'Verona'... which was a very cool name AngelFyre thought, she just knew the two names that would follow would be Simon's and her own.

Of course they would.

What a shocker. The universe, or the sneaky little powers that be behind the scenes who thought this petty little matchup would mean anything in the long run were obviously not able to resist poking the bear. AngelFyre was a realist and knew this would mean something to a few folks. So be it. She did not expect Simon and Haley to be bosom buddies by the end of the match, but maybe she was being overly pessimistic. Maybe it would not turn into a dumpster fire after all.

As they approached the platform, AngelFyre squeezed Simon's hand, signaling him to stop briefly. She smiled up into his caramel colored eyes and took his chin between her fingers as she stepped up just the slightest to meet his lips."Here, love. As fabulous as you look as Frankie in this get up, I think you better let me help you out of this oversized jacket and shoulder pads. No point in making yourself a bigger target than necessary, right?" and she winked at him.

Simon and Haley had done an expert job of avoiding each other all evening, but that would end as they all four climbed onto the platform. AngelFyre was about to acknowledge her two opponents, and was even going to ask for a clarification of the young man's name and introduce herself when her hopes for a light-hearted game conducted with some civility was tossed on its ear. The taunting came from the Brazilian boy, and it was more than obvious he "felt" he had a bone to pick with Simon.

AngelFyre knew her fellow and she knew this stupid kind of baiting would not affect him at all, but hey, if it made the guy feel like he was protecting his Lady Love's honor from the big bad ex-boyfriend across the stage from him, more power to him. She did have to smile to herself when the boy called Simon, "Pretty boy." She turned to Simon at that point and looked at him straight on, an impish smile crossing her lips."He is not wrong, you know. You are pretty. Two out of two girls on the stage have thought so, at one time or another, and one will continue to think so for the rest of our lives," and she squeezed his hand three times.

Then she heard Haley's voice acknowledge them, but to AngelFyre's relief, it was flat. No warmth, but no hostility either. AngelFyre did laugh to herself when she heard how Haley had chosen to greet them. She had said, "Simon, McCubbin". It just tickled AngelFyre's funny bone. She immediately took the next step in her head and recited softly to herself, "AngelFyre, Kincaid. Not yet, but one day," and she smiled deeply.

She simply nodded her head in Haley's direction and said only, "Good luck to you, both of you.". And she meant it. Leaning up to Simon's ear, she first nuzzled it and then whispered, "Win or lose, this means absolutely nothing. We won the day we met. Now, time for spider fun, handsome. "

Moderation Post Round I

With Cash helping them out, as four matches to moderate was more than enough for him, it was a lot easier to make sure everything went smoothly. Kim glanced over at them to watch them for a few seconds and then returned his attention to the first two matches. The second match he was looking over was quite explosive from the very start. But then, that was to be expected, considering who they participants were. Rivals against rivals. It would be interesting to say the least and they were pretty evenly matched, so the winner could be anyone. He was curious who would win.

First up was Verona Andréas, a fourth-year from Castelobruxo. He threw his first spider with quite some strength at a third-year Hufflepuff, Simon Kincaid. Could he have something against him already? Simon attempted to dodge the spider but the speed was too fast for him to do so. Perhaps it had something to do with the strength the projectile had been thrown? Haley Rose, a third-year Gryffindor and Ronnie's partner, also had a target in mind for her spider. She threw it with gusto at AngelFyre McCubbin, a second-year Hufflepuff. Haley's strike was true.

Both Ronnie and Haley had managed to make their spiders stick. Could the two Hufflepuffs do the same?

As for the opposing side, Simon Kincaid decided to go for his former girlfriend, Haley Rose and the spider hit her, sticking to her clothes. Unfortunately, the girl wasn't able to evade the spider fast enough this time. Maybe she was freaked out by the way it looked? Or perhaps she was distracted by throwing her own spider at her opponent at the time? As for Simon's partner, AngelFyre McCubbin decided to stick with her boyfriend on the matter of targets and went after Haley Rose as well. AF's aim was really good because the fake spider struck Haley instantly.

Kim let his eyes flicker over the participants.

It would be interesting to see where the next round would take them. Who would come out on top? Anything could happen, it all depended upon a person's luck.

Ronnie too immersed in the whole setting that he did not notice that his dear cousin made an appearance. The Brazilian zeroed his eyes at Simon. Ronnie did know why he felt annoyed towards Simon. Haley told everything to him. The fourth year with every fiber in his being trying not to come up to Simon and gives the Hufflepuff boy a piece of his mind.

Before the game begins, both Haley and Ronnie had talked amongst themselves about who will attack who. Once both agree to their intended target, Ronnie stands side by side with his redhead princess. The smack talk that Ronnie throws at Simon, bounced of the wall since the other boy did not bite his bait.

But Ronnie is a through-and-through Duellist, and no Duelling (whether it is official or Duelling-like circumstances) completed without throwing some insults during the game. As Kim gives the signal that the game is finally underway, the Brazilian boy did not waste any second of it. With a flair that the Duellist rarely shows during the official Duelling game, Ronnie throws the fake spider into the air.

And before the fake spider touches the ground, the boy makes the sticky pesky thing toward Simon. With a lot of force from his side and with those poor reflexes from Simon's side, the spider sticks its landing. "Ha! In your face, loserr!"Ronnie uttered as petty as he could get. "Did you see that, love? I could be a Chaser with an arm like that,"The boy beamed at his girlfriend with shiny eyes.

Ronnie never considers Qudditich as his sport before. Broom Racing or Quadpot, sure but not Quidditch. While the others see this as a fun thing to do, but not the Portuguese boy. Ronnie will treat this spider game just like any other Duelling he had been on. Then when the Brazilian successfully stick his spider, he stepped aside and gave room for his girlfriend to show her throwing ability.

"Just do what you normally do when you throw that Quaffle. Focus and do not forget to breathe,"The Duellist said to the Gryffindor girl. As Haley took aim and let her sticky spider fly through the air, Ronnie unconsciously held his breath. "Hell yeah, that is how you do it, love! High five!"Ronnie said with his palm up and waiting for Haley to return the slap.

His happiness did not last very long though as both Kincaid's and McCubbin's sticky spiders stuck on his beloved princess. One, two. The duo Hufflepuff gave the Gryffindor's Chaser a double whammy of sticky spiders making Haley had two out of three spiders. Did the Portuguese boy feel annoyed? Definitely. Did he feel mad about the situation? Most absolutely.

Perhaps it was the Duellist blood in him that make him annoyed at the situation. Ronnie did not know what Haley make of the situation, but the opposing players need to know what was he thinking. "Woah hey! I know you do not like her but seriously?!"The boy protested out loud. The Castelobruxo student then pinched the bridge of his nose to control his annoyance.

If the next round those two badgers aim Haley again, she had no choice but to leave the piste and left Ronnie to fend for himself. If that is the unforeseeable outcome that will come at some point during the game, Ronnie will try his very best to be the last and the least spiders that stuck him. His blue-grey eyes zeroed in on the young couple across the stage.

He calculated and observed them from head to toe. And when Ronnie knows what they should do next, the Ramírez boy shuffles closer to his girlfriend. "We gotta even out the playing field, mi amor my love. So this is what we going to do,"The boy said to the redhead. Ronnie did not believe that there was a higher deity up above and did not hold a certain religion. But he fully prayed thaa their next move will work out well for both Haley's and his end.

Haley couldn't help but laugh. "Well, not as good a chaser as me of course, but definitely." She winked at her boyfriend before going on the attack as well, throwing the spider in AF's direction with glee. Having hit it too, she rejoiced. "Great job, love!" She cheered laughing with her boyfriend and giving him a high five with plenty of momentum. It was nice that they could have fun even despite the somewhat awkward constellation of the two teams. Haley still doesn't know what Kim was thinking, whether it was some kind of fun for people hoping there would be some huge drama or if it really was just a coincidence. What the onlookers probably didn't realise was that neither Haley, nor Simon, nor probably AF all wanted any drama.

When Haley was hit by both Spiders she couldn't help but laugh, "Well I guess that's no surprise." She took it with humour, unlike the love next to her, "It's alright, love! Don't worry about that." She assured him and gave him a smile. They were here at the game to have fun and throw spiders around. That was exactly what everyone had been doing.

Haley had a plan, Ronnie had a plan and they both agreed on the strategy going forward. "We got this." She encouraged him and herself before they moved into position to launch the next attack.

One of AngelFyre's best qualities was that she had always had a slow burning fuse. That is not to say that she was incapable of losing her temper from time to time, but it was very rare. Another of her best qualities was that she, like Simon, honestly strived to be fair and just in all of her interactions with those around her, and when she felt as if she had stepped over a boundary, she had no problem with making her amends as quickly as possible. She wanted a clean slate between her and those around her. It did not mean everyone was going to like her, or even accept her proffered amends, but that was not on her, it was on them and that was fine. She was only responsible for herself and her actions and could only do what she could do.

AngelFyre knew Simon and Haley were not visiting open warfare upon one another, but they were not friendly either. An uneasy neutrality seemed to have been reached between them, and while she knew that broke Simon's heart, there were always consequences to every action. He had wanted a friendship with his ex girlfriend, but she plainly and simply did not, and it was both understandable and her right to wish to have no further contact with him. And for that, AngelFyre's heart broke for both of them. AngelFyre watched him turn himself inside out to make nice with Haley, but what he failed to realize was she needed time; just because he wanted it, when he wanted it, did not mean she was ready. AngelFyre had sadly wondered if he had abided by her initial wishes and not pushed her so hard at the beginning whether they might be friends now, but there was no sense in going down that "what if" rabbit hole.

One thing she did know was that Haley's new boyfriend could toss out any number of taunts to Simon and they would fall on deaf ears in terms of getting a rise out of him. The guy just did not know what he was talking about. That much was clear when he voiced his boisterous objection to the both of them targeting Haley and framed it as the both of them "not liking her". Really? That is what he thinks? AngelFyre looked over to Haley in that moment and wondered if the girl who had loved Simon for a year truly believed that of him? She sincerely doubted it. If she did, she never really knew him.

When Verona's spider landed on Simon and he called him a loser, AngelFyre just looked at the boy and wondered at the stark difference between the two lads on the platform. And when Haley's spider hit AngelFyre, there was a predictable degree of revenge-satisfaction going on in her green eyes. AngelFyre had seen that fire before, but unlike her new boyfriend, Haley seemed able to contain it within the bounds of what AngelFyre thought this was supposed to be, which was a "friendly" or at least "civil" game at a party. It was not a real duel and it sure as heck was not supposed to be a grudge match for the new knight in shining armor to right perceived wrongs.

But enough was enough now. The older duelist seemed unable to tell the difference and because it was a matter of his heart being engaged, he likely never would. He seemed to be spoiling for a fight before the whole thing even ever started, so whatever Kim had thought was going to come of this match up, it was not going to end as anyone would expect.

After seeing both their spiders land on Haley and smiling over at Simon because it had truly been nothing more than a good strategy artfully delivered, an "I have a plan"smile he would well recognize crossed her lips. If they stayed on the stage, the chance for this whole thing to turn into the dumpster fire she originally feared grew with each passing encounter. With no time to talk anything over with him, AngelFyre made an executive decision. She knew her boyfriend and she knew he would see the wisdom in it. Plus, it was going to be fun for the two of them if not for anyone else.

AngelFyre reached down into her bucket and grabbed not one, but both of her remaining spiders and looked across to Haley. She would say to the beautiful redhead, in the kindest, yet most sincerely truthful tone, only loud enough for those on stage to hear it, "I think you know deep down that not only does Simon like you, he still loves you. None of what was just said is true, but this grudge match is not what anyone up here needs so...." and she left the end of the sentence hanging as she then proceeded to walk the few feet over to Simon, an appropriately sober look resting on her Bride of Frankenstein's face.

When she got within a foot of him, she quickly raised one costume-draped arm which hid the hand holding her spiders and hissed at him in character like she had done a couple of times during the course of the evening. Then she laughed happily as she rapid-fire tossed first one and then the other spider at him, landing both of them on his black tee. "Gosh, Handsome, I think that makes you the first out of this game. Sorry, Frankie. I think it also makes me the Monster Slayer!" and she laughed as her long fingers began to fiddle with the spider Haley had landed on her only a minute or so earlier. Then the corner of her eyes were crinkling as she smiled at him and looked rapidly down at his spiders in the bucket and back up into his gorgeous golden brown eyes that were themselves beginning to crinkle as he began to smile back at her.

"To quote Pat Benatar, care to 'Hit Me With Your Best Shot?'" and she winked at him, smiling from ear to ear.
